The claim the app would be back online by Nov 10th was inaccurate, today is the 26th of Nov. No communication, poor interface, not particularly user friendly and unreliable on a good day, when the app actually does open. Any schools using Simon need to use their heads, stop trying to cost cut and swap to Compass. Schools, staff and parents do not need the lack of communication or functionality that Simon provides. Just use the already well established Compass, seriously- you get what you pay for, clearly. ### 1/5 — Unreliable *2025-11-20* Unable to use app or use Simon on the web outside of the school network. This has been going on for weeks with no communication from Simon about when this will be fixed. The app “system maintenance” notice still says access will resume from the 10th of November, it’s 20th of November as I write this review and access has not resumed for parents, students or teachers. If we can’t use it, then perhaps an update could be provided? To be honest, even when it is working, it’s not a great app, falls well short of the user friendly interface of apps like Compass. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2025-11-03* App displays a System Maintenance error message for the last 3 weeks. ### 1/5 — Always having outages *2025-10-27* The current outage has been going for 3 days straight, and it’s getting pretty annoying that I. An’t check my own classes. There is also multiple issues with the app that people would’ve reported, but guess what.. none of them are fixed! Hate it when we are requested to change to new ap only got it to be worse then the older ap. **Developer response:** A new version was published this week, which corrects a number of common issues, particularly the menu system. I have entered the school code and the appIdentified the school. After that, they are nothing obvious. it just a white screen. ### 1/5 — Additional function *2026-02-25* Just wondering if this is possible-May I suggest that this app be looked into and additional function may be considered and added in order to let user upload additional info i.e. medical certificate when notifying school absence. The process I take when notifying absence is thru PAM mobile (which can be challenging when you are on the road) then log in again in PC to upload Medical certificate - which I find it time consuming. Not sure if the reason of not having this functionality (in relation to document uploading) is due to privacy. It would be good and much appreciated if this app usage specially thru mobile be improved to alleviate the stress of doing a couple of process when notifying absence. ### 1/5 — Would give zero stars if possible *2026-02-17* School mandates this. In this day and age it’s not overly difficult to build a clean product UI with a good customer experience. School had to stop using for a period of time. **Developer response:** There was an unauthorised security test conducted by an external vendor. This triggered an automated security response and investigation, during which the platform was taken offline in an abundance of caution whilst security concerns were investigated. Our investigation of the disruption found no evidence of malicious cyber activity and no personal information was stolen. Really grateful for his help and support! ### 4/5 — UPDATE much better (Worst app) *2022-09-26* UPDATE September 2022 App is much better since the most recent version has been made available. It’s still a little clunky and hard to navigate but once you get used to it, it is now functional. 4 stars. (Original review) Don’t leave the screen while you’re partway through a form. It resets every time. The support I received over the phone during the reinstall process was great. ### 2/5 — Our school seems to have disappeared off the app *2023-02-14* Ok so this isn’t a new complaint- we first experienced this issue late last year. App just stopped opening, then I deleted it, and re-installed back to the iPhone. I contacted the it dept at the school and also the app developer. All the indications for updated version of app vs the version of iPhone were met- however on re-installing my sons school is completely missing from the school list. The app worked well when I had access to it and I never really had any issues with drilling down as others reported. It’s somewhat annoying as I like the convenience of the app rather than opening another tab, and logging in every time- especially as we are using the app more in these next 2 years. Would love it if you could contact me to re-visit this issue and I hope resolve it.
