### 3/5 — Accessibility issues, I have tried to contact developer, great apps overall!

*2024-07-26, version 4.8*

These are the closest to accessible DBT apps I have found as a totally blind person who is also hearing impaired and uses braille, and Voiceover. (Despite the accessibility issues which make some features pretty much unusable, I went ahead and purchased the bundle to support the developer and their work, and hopefully be able to help myself further in future.) I would love to work with the developer to make them more accessible if they are willing, but I tried to reach out, and the email was returned as undeliverable. I hope I can come back and rate this five stars once the accessibility issues are addressed, and these already wonderful DBT apps are made easily usable by all. Thank you so much for your work, your apps, and your understanding. You have made a lot of progress where other app developers have not, and it is greatly appreciated as a blind person needing DBT. Thank you!

### 3/5 — Updates?

*2024-07-22, version 4.8*

Is the developer no longer updating and keeping up with this app? Seems like things are 3+ years old

### 3/5 — Good app, bad grammar.

*2024-01-11, version 4.8*

The app is great. You might want to run these cards and examples through a spell checker. There are a lot of errors. I would like to use this professionally for my clients and have a hard time referring them to something simple when simple spelling cannot be addressed.

### 5/5 — Over time

*2023-12-04, version 4.8*

I keep coming back to this app and remarking how wonderful it is. My daughter asks me why I ever quit using it. I have to wonder why? Here I go again! And I am back! For many years I have used this app. Today I was able to recommend it in a group! Love this bundle☮️❤️🙂

This app helps me reset my mind and think of how when and to see reality . it helps me not change everyone but change or self soothe by removing myself . adult time out not being unkind to my mind . letting other have a opione and listing skills not feel overwhelmed. it’s a great learning tool and it can make a huge difference in one’s life even if you choose one or two and repeat them daily prayers lots of prayer go with these learning skills .

### 5/5 — I love this app

*2022-11-15, version 4.8*

This has been incredibly motivating for me. I am thankful I spent the money and know that these apps will forever be beneficial to me. Don’t stop improving! The layout is amazing, tricky to get into as I’m used to Facebook and social media apps but it got me thinking more inside the box and using the help button more. You’ve done such a great job at creating these apps. Thank you thank you thank you

### 5/5 — Great app

*2022-10-11, version 4.8*

I like this app because DBT is a therapy that needs to be practiced daily. I still forget to do it some days but having the app helps me to remember all the different tools I have to choose gfrom

### 5/5 — Great start to day one

*2022-09-29, version 4.8*

Easy mindful practice, disruptive music gave me agitation and irritation.

### 5/5 — So far so good

*2022-08-08, version 4.8*

### 5/5 — Worth every minute spent on this!

*2022-05-22, version 4.8*

Spent about 5 mins on this. So glad I did. I tend to procrastinate😅

### 5/5 — awesome daily check in! 💗

*2022-04-09, version 4.8*

This app is wonderful - a super easy place to keep track of your day to day emotions, negative behaviors/coping mechanisms and DBT practices. I recommend this app to anybody trying to cultivate emotional wellness; not just those in treatment for borderline personality disorder.

### 4/5 — I really want to like this app!

*2022-04-07, version 4.8*

DBT therapist here—

There’s a lot to like about the app, but it’s more time consuming than the traditional card stock diary cards.

This app gives you a grade or percentage on what DBT skills you’ve used in a day, but the list isn’t comprehensive and a person doesn’t need to use every skill, every day—just the ones that are needed and relevant.

Wish there was a 0-10 SUDs rating scale, instead of the likert 0-5.

Tracking emotional experiences should come first, before tracking skills. Users should be able to input their own emotional targets, reactivity, self-harming and suicidal urges, and other impulses. Without these factors, it’s kinda incomplete.

### 5/5 — Good idea, great app

*2022-03-29, version 4.8*

This app is a valuable recovery resource.

### 5/5 — Perfect! East and effective to use

*2022-03-03, version 4.8*

Very happy with this app. It breaks things down in a way that is very easy to understand and monitor you daily behaviours and thinking errors, that encourage you to make healthy changes for your present and future relationships. DBT is a lot of work, and this makes it much easier because you can see it listed each day. I’m happy with it’s entirety

### 5/5 — Best dbt diary card

*2022-02-16, version 4.8*

In all my years of use of the App Store (which is, to say, a lot of years), I have never written a review in my recollection. Til now.

This diary card is much better than the last one I tried. It’s intuitive and it helps keep me on track. It’s been perfect for me.

Also, when I emailed for help, I got gifs back, so I was able to see *exactly* what to do. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Best DBT tracker I've tried so far

*2022-01-06, version 4.8*

Love this app to keep me accountable for daily DBT! I do wish there was a way to click on the calendar and go directly to the "edit completed card" screen so I don't have to swipe the bubbles. But other than that it's been very helpful!

### 3/5 — I’d love to use this app

*2021-12-11, version 4.8*

But unfortunately there is no way to switch between iPad and iPhone because every time I try to create an account it gives me a network error.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — No Target Behaviors or interval ratings

*2023-12-20, version 4.8*

TL/DR: I cannot recommend this app for anyone who is in therapy and/or at-risk of harm to themselves or others. Users are unable to self-report self-harm, SI, substance use, unhealthy eating, or otherwise acting out. All entries are only Yes/No with no options for 0-5 or 0-7 interval ratings of skills, emotions, or distress tolerance.

I really liked this app when I first began looking for a DBT diary card. The free version was fairly intuitive and use immediately. It has some nice mindfulness pieces incorporated, and there would be no more paperwork for myself or my Care Team. I could complete my entries and simply email them before my sessions.

However, my Therapist suggested at my first session that I may want to consider migrating away from this app. Which I did.

It does not capture any self-reporting of Target Behaviors for self-harm, SI, substance use, gambling, unhealthy eating, etc. And it doesn’t have the ability to add them, even if you purchase the additional modules.

It actually made me feel unsafe that such a crucial part of my recovery—one that’s on every DBT diary card I’ve ever seen—was missing. It would seem like those risks would be the part to structure an app around, so I’m disappointed the developers didn’t include it. It’s as if there were no involvement or oversight from mental health professionals, or the developers were worried about safeguarding themselves. Either way, this is not an appropriate app for people who are at-risk.

Ironically, the other missing piece is that all of the self-reporting that is available has a simple Yes/No response. This is an appropriate input for those missing Target Behaviors that were just mentioned, but the more accepted approach is a 0-7 and 0-5 ranking. My Therapist and I have no way of seeing whether I am unwilling, unable, or moving towards mastery of skills, or the strength of any emotions or distress I am experiencing. This is another significant gap for successful recovery.

There are some useful parts to app and why I have kept it. The first is the 28 Skills Overview. Each has a definition that differs from Linehan, so I had an increased understanding of them. They also have a short scenario of what they might look like in actual practice, which I also found valuable.

Finally, there is a Chain Analysis portion which I haven’t seen on other apps. I also haven’t had the opportunity to use it, so I can’t rate its suitability or if it’s flexible enough. This seems like an activity that’s best suited for paper but I remain cautiously optimistic and will definitely test it out once I need it again.

### 1/5 — Can’t see some writing

*2021-02-14, version 4.2*

Some of my writing is white on white or not showing up at all so I am not able to do my reviews or just guessing what it says.

### 1/5 — Bummer

*2020-10-07, version 4.1*

I bought the whole package. I didn’t find it helpful, it seems disjointed and for me there isn’t enough information to clearly understand DBT. I wish I could get my money back.

### 1/5 — Not "simple"

*2020-01-14, version 4.1*

This app is not as simple as advertised. It’s also not aesthetically pleasing. Way too visually busy and the sounds are annoying. It stressed me out just looking at it and also using it.

### 1/5 — Very limited options, no way to tailor

*2019-04-13, version 3.09*

First, please create a way to mute that really annoying background music. An app intended for a lot of highly sensitive people should allow users to decrease sensory stimulation as needed. Next, it’s also really annoying to be forced through all those skills for someone new to DBT. Let users focus on the ones learned vs everything. Finally, there’s nothing about tracking emotions, urges, self harm, SI... pretty crucial components of a diary card.

### 1/5 — Super annoying

*2019-01-19, version 3.05*

I’ve used another DBT app for a year that I only stopped using due to new glitches. This app is super annoying and ugly compared to the other. Tried it. Deleted it. The music ...omg so annoying.

### 1/5 — Ads are not appropriate

*2019-01-07, version 3.04*

I find the app to be annoying. It is slow. It is unclear (Doesn’t say which way to swipe for flash cards). And annoying ads come up after I enter stats and it feels very invalidating.

### 1/5 — Was expecting a bit more

*2018-07-16, version 3.01*

Not really what I was expecting!! A brief description of each DBT skill would be so helpful, as stated in the description, not many people have access to DBT or are waiting long times to be apart of DBT groups- so I would like to assume majority of the people downloading this would be not very enlightened in terms of what to expect and what skills are to be worked on during DBT, so to have this app be quite vague, and ask me questions about skills I barely know about in the text of DBT, is quite a disappointment.

### 1/5 — Surprisingly UNHELPFUL

*2018-05-09, version 2.5*

had high hopes for this app. Big disappointment. No directions or instructions. You have to answer like 20+ questions with annoying and choppy music that abruptly changes after each answer. AND if you don’t go through all of them it won’t save your data and you have to start over again. Hoping they put a bit more time into it for the next update.

### 1/5 — CRAP

*2017-06-13, version 2.4*

Hate it.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2025-07-09, version 4.8*

Very educational, very easy to use, and with a great structure!

### 5/5 — Simple & Effecive

*2025-06-26, version 4.8*

One of the therapy tool app I’ve used. Even the free version is really helpful. The paid version has videos and can view more than 7 days of data.

### 5/5 — Emotional train

*2025-05-31, version 4.8*

I love this app so much. It’s so very helpful

### 5/5 — Looking good

*2025-02-11, version 4.8*

This is a great app to have on your phone. Makes diary cards much more accessible, especially if you are taking a DBT group with a weekly review or paper dairy cards. Regardless, this would give you a good start and overview of DBT.

The questions it ask as your going through the skills check list help me think about how I applied (or didn’t) each skill as well as refresh my memory of what each skill actually consists of and how it’s used. You can also add personal behaviors that you might want to work on.
The long term data tracking is nice to monitor patterns that you might not catch week by week. This free version is much better than the same type of app I paid 5$ for! Thanks!

### 5/5 — Awesome app

*2024-12-09, version 4.8*

Its really dope that people are creating more accessible therapy techniques! This app is great.

### 5/5 — Thank you

*2024-06-11, version 4.8*

Thank you. This helps me a lot.

### 5/5 — Question

*2024-03-29, version 4.8*

How do you set up a custom diary card from scratch?

### 5/5 — WAS LOOKING FOR MEOW MEOW BEENZ

*2024-03-29, version 4.8*

I was looking for the Meow Meow Beenz App but found out it is no longer available as of 9 years ago (Ironic with the whole cat theme) That is one of my favourite episodes of Community, and my humour goes very very meta lately. With the Diary App, I enjoyed the simple interface and personal “Were You Being A Maniac?” Self Check. Looking forward to seeing some personal progress and hoping to improve my skills at loudly shouting into the Social Media abyss.

### 5/5 — Great

*2023-12-19, version 4.8*

Works well. Stick with it! Reinforces the concepts well by usjj in bc the app you commit more to memory

### 5/5 — Although slow it’s worth it to process

*2023-12-06, version 4.8*

I love the app
