Terrible!!! I don’t mind if you monetize this with ads but dammit please make it work!!! ### 2/5 — Terrible update for 2024 *2023-11-17, version 4.0.15* Used this app the past 3 years for secret Santa. The update for this year has made this infinitely more frustrating. Why get rid of sending the text out in one batch? Now you have to add everyone in then send them individually a message. All very time consuming for the organizer. Also it would seem intuitive to be able to reuse your prior list, but unfortunately this is not an option. ### 2/5 — iPhone app stopped working *2023-11-08, version 4.0.13* I was using it for a few weeks and then the last few days the app stopped working on the iPhone. The main page is just frozen and I cannot select any lists, cannot creat new lists, etc. Is this due to recent app updates? Downloaded the app on the iPad and it works fine. Restarted phone, deleted and re-downloaded the app, no luck. ### 4/5 — Checked out many aps and this was the best! *2023-11-06, version 4.0.13* This is the 4th year our family is using this ap for 2 Secret Santas for the adults and kids and it has worked quite. This year I reviewed and tested at least 5 other aps and found this one had the most features, less ads, and was easiest to use. You won’t be disappointed! ### 2/5 — Not a fan of new version *2023-10-31, version 4.0.12* I loved this app for previous years, but it is confusing this year. We have a secret Santa between our friend group’s children. There are multiple kids from the same family and the new version makes it hard to send multiple matches to one person (1 mom = 2 kids) I hate the texting links and QR codes. The old version that texted the match was so much easier. It’s so hard remembering which link was for which kid. ### 4/5 — Secret Santa *2023-06-02, version 3.2.10* I wish they would have it so you can move a whole list to the next year instead of redoing it again 😢 ### 2/5 — Generator is fine, rest is eh *2022-12-26, version 3.2.10* Chose this because it let me text, WhatsApp etc. rather than only using email addresses. The pairing was fine, but the UI was really confusing to participants. I was instantly bombarded with questions from people and didn’t know how to answer as I wasn’t sure. The wish list feature is also incredibly bad. It pulls up items that aren’t the requested gift at all. We ended up making a google doc with wish lists because we were concerned people would buy the wrong “suggested” item which had nothing to do with the typed text. The wish list also cuts off wish list item text after a number of characters so could not read the full thing. Then I could not copy-paste the wish list text from the app when trying to make my google doc. ### 3/5 — Frustrating but good *2022-12-21, version 3.2.10* I want to start off by saying my family has done secret santa since 2019 when a lot of my cousins and I were off to college. I downloaded this app back then and paid for the premium features which allowed the app to send the text messages revealing their person without any problem. However, this year it was super frustrating because after using this for 3 other Christmas seasons I was unpleasantly surprised to see that you have to manually send each text to the person. I am in charge of this, and it was very frustrating to see the link of who everyone got. I didn’t click on them but it was annoying to ensure every person got their own link. In the past the app sent these messages, why did this feature change after I paid for it and used it for 3 other years? I want to continue using this app next year because it has serviced us for now 4 secret santa’s but I don’t think i’ll use it next year if it doesn’t offer this key unique feature i required. ### 2/5 — Clunky *2022-12-14, version 3.2.9* Works, but is clunky. Phone number is difficult to add properly. I clicked on the link and it showed who I was supposed to be buying a gift for but when I installed the same app on my phone and created an account it didn’t have anything about the person I was supposed to be getting a gift for or the date of the Christmas Party. I thought maybe by downloading the app I would be able to, I download the app and try to open the link with it but I can’t. It’s requesting a code to be able to see the list but nothing. Isn’t this app “simple?” I tried contacting costumer service and it always gives me an error. ### 1/5 — Does not work *2023-12-01, version 4.0.15* This app use to work but with the new update is made it worse. It was better when I could add the participants with their cell number and they would just get a text with who they got but now the app is broken. What good is adding people from your contacts if you can’t actually text them the result? Then, when I sent everyone their link to see their gift person, there is an option to see who everyone has been paired with? Why is that not only visible for the admin person? I created a list of 18 people and various people matched with one individual. There were no exceptions created. It just pairs people up so they get each other a present rather than it being a random selection. Ie. I got my brother in law and he got me, my sister and stepdad got each other etc! 2. The app selects suggestions from Amazon so someone might think that they are the requests of their secret Santa. Eg ‘posh nail varnish’ then gets given a suggestion and so people won’t get the things they want but rubbish versions of them!!
