Introduction This iPad app is for companies that want to make it easy to write a service agreement while on the job. Great for anyone that does contract work. How To Use You simply launch Simple Service Agreement on the iPad, and fill out the customer’s info, date, phone number, address, and contact’s name in the provided fields. Next, you select the date that the agreement begins and ends. There are also check boxes available. If this agreement is a renewal, tap in the check box underneath the renewal heading. For the time period section tap in the box appropriate for the service to be administered (weekly, monthly, quarterly or other). For the “other” field, you can write in your own custom time frame. Next, you fill out the spaces with your “service to be performed”, any “special instructions” and “terms and conditions” specifications. Then, you input the annual agreement charge, initial service charge and any time period payments. Optionally there is an other section where you can add in your additional charges and give it a name. Finally, you hand the iPad to your customer. They sign their name on the line next to the customer signature section. Now, you receive the iPad from the customer and tap the e-mail button and e-mail the customer a copy of the completed form (if you like send yourself a copy too). The newly created service agreement is stored in the popular PDF format and is an attachment to the e-mail. No more hard to read service agreements or misunderstandings from poor handwriting! Double tap on the signature you just created and it will delete itself and you can try again. Tips For a Good Signature We have found that small strokes make for the best signatures and to take your time signing. You will be very happy with the result. Note: While the inputted information is stored temporarily until you tap on clear. If you close the app and reopen the signature will not be saved during this time. It is important to e-mail the finished job proposal agreement upon receiving the iPad back from the person signing. SETUP: How to Load a Company Logo Tap on the “Load Logo” button on the bottom of the app. Next, read the on-screen instructions. Also you can only save one file. So it's worthless ### 2/5 — Doesn't work *2013-05-26* Signature doesn't work. Have to exit app to get it to work. Normally I'll get a lawyer or an accountant to do it and it costs a ton of money. So when I saw this app I realized how much potential it could have with a few minor tweaks. I'm giving it a two star rating only because I want the developer to understand the importance of making some of these changes happen. 1. You cant save any agreements inside the app. I was just with a client that I wrote an agreement for and he went to sign for it and messed up. In wanting to do it again, he hit the "clear" button which wiped out the entire form. No warning, not undoable. Very frustrated when I couldn't bring it back, I had to rewrite it all in front of the client. 2. You can't change some of the fields inside the app. This isn't necessarily a problem, because I'm aware the developer has other apps for other purposes, but that's kind of an annoyance simply because all I want to do is change the heading from "service agreement" to "rental agreement" etc. 3. The fields for writing what service you are offering are not expandable. Hopefully you can fit everything you're offering into five lines of text. 4. Uploading a company logo is unnecessarily complicated. You need to upload an image using a computer and you cant choose simply from your camera roll or photos on your iPad. If these things were changed, I would have paid $20 or more for the app because the idea is simply fantastic. Instead I feel like I spent $5 to simply waste time and be embarrassed in front of a client. That being said, I don't want the other apps the developer created to be useless, but id rather spend $50 and have all of the apps in one than spend $5 on each. (invoices, quotes, job proposals, even release forms for talent, locations, etc.) I can't stress enough how much of a money maker this app could be based on it's potential (hoping the developer sees this) But unless something changes, I wouldn't spend another penny on any of these apps. Sorry. These comments are meant to be constructive, I'm not down-talking the app, rather hoping I can provide enough feedback to see the changes get made. ### 3/5 — Needs small changes please update. *2010-09-14* Needs renewal taken off or to be able to customize. Also I wish it would turn when I lay my iPad on it's side, especially for the signature part. To small of area to sign. Move buttons for editing because they get touched by customer or just put them at top right of page in one small icon that opens. Thanks. ### 2/5 — Needs some work. *2010-08-30* Great idea, but I can't get some of the features to work. First I can't insert my company Logo. I followed the instructions and it just won't work. Second It will not allow me to erase the signature so what ever your customers puts down the first time your stuck with. A few suggestion that would really make this app over the top. Allow for the user to change some of the fields, the guarantee is so nebulous and generic, I want to tweak it to fit my needs . Next inset some type of function that automatically calculates the contract value so that sells reps don't waste time doing math.
