## What is Simple Speed?

A speedometer with big digits that fill the screen. No ads. No account. Pay once.

For cars with a broken speedometer, motorcycles, e-bikes, golf carts, or checking your dash after new tires.

Your speed on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, so it stays in view with Maps open. Turn it on in Settings.

Four dashboard colors tuned for night and day. An optional speed arc with a real scale. Dark after sunset, automatic or your choice. MPH or km/h. A HUD mirror for reading it in the windshield at night.

Set it on the dash and drive.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.2 — 2026-10-22

New: your speed on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. Keep Maps open and still see how fast you're going. Turn it on in Settings.
Laid out for iPhone Duo, folded or open.
The logo shows while GPS locks, and a clear message appears if it can't.
No ads. No account. Pay once.

### 2.1 — 2026-10-03

HUD mirror: flip the digits to read them in your windshield at night (Settings, off by default).
Now in Spanish, German, French, Portuguese and Japanese.
VoiceOver reads your speed with its unit. Reduce Motion, Increase Contrast and larger text are supported.
Still no ads. Still no clutter. Just your speed.

### 2.0 — 2026-09-05

Simple Speed 2.0 is a complete rebuild for modern iPhones.

- Bigger, clearer digits
- Speed units now live in Settings, so a stray tap can't switch MPH to km/h mid-drive. First install matches your region, and your saved choice carries over.
- Four color options tuned for both night and day
- Optional speed arc with a fixed, honest scale
- Auto night mode that follows sunset and sunrise
- Fixed a bug that could freeze the speedometer until relaunch
- Fixed a phantom 1 to 2 mph reading while standing still
- New icon

Still no ads. Still no clutter. Just your speed.

### 1.1 — 2022-02-20

- Auto-hides home indicator bar after a few seconds to prevent it from showing while in use

- Prevents screen lock while in use

### 1.0 — 2022-02-18

No release notes.
