I love the simplicity that simple spin has compared to the Echelon app.  Echelon has so many ads and it’s unnecessarily expensive when I just want to workout. I don’t have to pay even close to that amount in Simple Spin. I will say that I enjoy the interface a lot more on my iPad, but I use my phone whenever I want a quick workout and that works too! Highly recommend!

I recently got an Echelon fitness bike and workout about 3-4x/week. I use a variety of cardio equipment - rower, elliptical, treadmill etc. - to switch things up. All of these machines have basic screens that show me my progress. But I was super frustrated that I could literally not read the dashboard on my brand new bike - I like to see and adjust speed, distance, and especially watts, and there was so much visual clutter on the Echelon app that for me, it was unusable. Thankfully, I found Simple Spin, which provides a clean, crisp user interface so I know exactly how my workout is going and can track my progress and effort!!!

iPad

• Landscape fits everything on screen. Your session maximums — cadence, power and speed — were being cut off below the fold and needed scrolling to reach. They now sit in their own panel to the right, visible for the whole ride.

• The gauge, the metrics row and the Start/Reset buttons are centered on screen and scale to your iPad, from mini to 13-inch.

• Split View and Stage Manager are laid out properly.

• Rotating the iPad now reliably updates the layout.

Riding

• “DISCONNECTED” no longer stays on screen once your bike is actually connected.

• Ride numbers no longer wrap onto two lines or get clipped on smaller screens.

• The screen sleep timeout in Settings now works. The screen dims after your chosen idle time and comes straight back when you start pedalling or tap it — and it returns to your own brightness rather than jumping to full.

Subscriptions and free trial

• The free trial now starts and ends correctly in every region. On some devices it could fail to begin, or fail to run out.

• Prices are shown in your own currency instead of always in US dollars.

• Subscription changes — renewing, cancelling, or approving a request to buy — are picked up while the app is open, instead of only after a restart.

• Fixed the subscription screen briefly appearing at launch for active subscribers.
