No *2021-10-13* The web page and the browser extension supports copy and paste, but the iOS function does not work on this app. That makes this app useless. ### 1/5 — Needs A LOT!! of work. *2020-11-18* App is largely unusable, can’t understand what it’s saying. I haven’t been able to use this app in months on 3 different devices. I absolutely loved the older version and I really enjoy the PC version (web based). I typically end up using the web interface on my phone and tablet because this is so unreliable. ### 2/5 — Used to work *2021-10-07* It used to work well once I could get it to read a document. Though it could have used a return to top of document feature as I’m using it to listen to books. But now all of a sudden, it’s not giving me any audio. I’ve tried restarting my phone, new documents, updating the app, nothing works. So I’m going to have to find a different one. ### 2/5 — Broken *2020-11-08* It worked when I first downloaded it but now it’s stuck on a thick Saudi accent, no matter how many times I change it to an American accent, restart the app, or delete and reinstall it entirely. But i love that this is a app that is intuitive and not subscription based ### 4/5 — good app but *2020-09-06, version 0.1.3* let me listen while phone’s screen is black ## Most praised reviews (6 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — excellent screen reader *2021-10-13, version 0.1.3* offers a range of voices and text-to-speech features, lets you adjust reader speed as well as text size & appearance; fairly simple in terms of options for how & when to run the app, and yes, it would definitely be great if it could play in the background without needing to be open onscreen, but if what you're looking for is a screen reader, this is hands down the best one i've come across so far. not sure whether all the features are adequately accessible for visually-impaired users, but the tutorial would probably provide quite a bit more information there if i hadn't skipped through it, and based on what i *can* infer it seems to be at least the baseline level of accessible (at the very least, it reads text clearly from a variety of sources). i'm,, a little worried to be quite honest, the functionality here is so good i'm expecting a major downside, but i've yet to find any hidden costs or catches (i did however discover that the creators have a web browser extension that might be useful for my desktop computer). i mean given the *gestures at general state of things* there's a solid chance the catch is still coming, but hey, i haven't found it and i have gotten tons of use out of this app in the meantime. if the creators are as generous as they seem to be, and are actually sharing this fantastic piece of software for the sake of accessibility without dinging us with a $30 subscription fee or major functionality options stuck behind a paywall, then i am genuinely so grateful for this. thanks for being really excellent human beings, i think. It really helps me do my work. I can just look up what I need to read, copy it, then past it into the app and I’ve got my work don’t like that. The is the best app and I’m glad I got it.
