## What is Simple Weightlifter?

No account. No cloud. No subscription. Your training lives on your device — private, offline, and always yours.

Simple Weightlifter is a barbell workout log for people who lift: track sets, reps and weight for every gym session, and let the app do the math.

ON YOUR WRIST
The Apple Watch app runs the whole workout. Start on either device and the two stay in step — log a set on your watch and your iPhone already knows. Each set opens with the exact plates to load, rest is counted down on your wrist, and heart rate and calories are recorded so the session counts towards your Activity rings. Out of range of your phone? Keep going. It all syncs when you're back together.

SEE YOUR PROGRESS
Every exercise keeps a chart of the weight you've actually lifted, so months of training fit on one screen. Jump straight to it from any day in the calendar. Missed targets are marked, so a plateau is obvious.

PROGRESSIVE OVERLOAD, HANDLED
Set a starting weight and an increment. Hit your target and the app adds weight for next time; miss it and the weight holds where it is. Squat, bench, deadlift, 5x5, or a program of your own.

PLATE CALCULATOR BUILT IN
Tell the app which plates you own and it shows every loadable weight and exactly what goes on each side of the bar. No more mental arithmetic between sets.

REST TIMER ON YOUR LOCK SCREEN
A Live Activity keeps your rest timer on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, and in the Smart Stack on your Apple Watch, so you always know when the next set is due.

BUILT FOR YOUR GYM
Multiple bars and plate inventories per profile — home gym, commercial gym, travel kit — and switch between them in seconds. Kilograms or pounds, your choice.

YOUR DATA, YOUR WAY
Export a complete backup any time and import it on another device. No middleman, no server, no lock-in. Your export is your full training history, even if you delete the app.

WORKS WITH APPLE HEALTH
Optionally write workouts and calories to Apple Health, and read your body weight for better estimates. Entirely your choice, revocable any time in Settings.

Simple. Private. Yours.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.3 — 2026-08-28

APPLE WATCH
Lifts now runs on your wrist. Start a workout on your watch or your iPhone and both stay in step — log a set on either and it shows up on the other straight away. Before each set your watch shows exactly which plates to load, then counts your rest and taps your wrist when it's over. Heart rate and calories are tracked throughout, so the session lands in Apple Health and counts towards your Activity rings. Walk away from your phone and keep lifting — everything syncs when you're back in range.

Start a workout on your iPhone and, if you've allowed Apple Health, the watch app opens on its own with the workout already loaded.

SEE YOUR PROGRESS
Every exercise now has a chart of the weight you've actually lifted, so months of training fit on one screen. Tap a day in the calendar, choose an exercise, and go straight to its history. Sessions where you missed your target are marked, so a plateau is easy to spot.

SAFER LOGGING
The weight for an exercise locks once its first set is under way. Changing it mid-exercise would have quietly rewritten sets you had already logged — now it can't.

The rest timer stays on your Lock Screen while a workout runs. It no longer appears on your watch as well, because the watch app already shows it.

Plus smaller fixes and stability improvements throughout.

### 1.1 — 2026-08-10

The workout timer now starts when you begin your first set, not when you open the workout. During a workout, tap the weight to swap to a lighter or heavier load from your available plates. A back button on the reps screen lets you return to the set timer if you tapped Complete too early. Rest screen now has a +30s button to extend your rest without starting over. Dynamic Island has been tidied up with the exercise name and a cleaner timer position.
Also includes a handful of smaller bug fixes and stability improvements.
