SimplePi is the Swiss army knife utility app for monitoring, controlling, and managing your Raspberry Pi using your iPhone and iPad. MONITOR ACTIVITY See what is going on with your Raspberry Pi. Not with a password and not with ssh. So I don’t know if it works, and I’m not willing to gamble $4.99 to find out. Only because I’ve been burned so many times by iPhone apps. ### 1/5 — Frequent issues *2026-01-04, version 4.0.1* This app does more wrong then it does good. I tried it on my pi, and it’s alright, limited literally all the good functionality behind a paywall. But when I close the app, it refuses to connect the next time I open it, If i press the connection button it OPENS THE PAYWALL. This put me off even buying the app at all. The only way to temporarily get it back is to remove the host, force close the app and open it again, set it up and you get it back until it closes. WASTE OF TIME ### 1/5 — Doesn’t do anything *2025-12-13, version 4.0.1* I connected to my Pi, but I can’t get it do anything. I’ve just paid the subscription and got nothing. ### 5/5 — Fantastic app *2025-12-01, version 4.0.1* This is a fantastic app. Gives you a cli to your Raspberry Pi. This is the best way to use all the power of Linux cli from your iPhone via a Raspberry Pi. Full Bash and Python. And as an extra bonus it gives you stats on cpu, gpu and ram usage. And all for £4.99 per year. Can’t recommend this nearly enough - download now if you haven’t already :) ### 1/5 — Terrible *2025-08-29* I got the app just to mess with my raspberry pi and it worked one day and then the next it would not let me do anything without paying so terrible app **Developer response:** Hi!
