### 2/5 — I want to give it more. Good luck navigating

*2025-02-15*

You can not navigate raspi-config! Screen disappears!

### 2/5 — Missing obvious features.

*2024-02-03*

I often run commands that run continuously and return frequent status updates via the terminal. I have been unable to view the command’s output. I find the terminal icon at the top but it does not show updates from my command. Should be able to hold finger on a command and create a copy. Without these features, I don’t see this as a big improvement over the old free version.

Continuously running command aborts when phone screen locks/(sleeps). In need the command to keep running.

### 2/5 — Can’t even get in.

*2023-06-17*

So I’ve typed in my IP and all the other info and it says invalid or couldn’t reach given IP address. I’ve checked multiple times, I don’t have a VPN or any sort of good protection turned on, and I’ve also checked my IP multiple times and it just doesn’t let me in. I can’t connect to my Rasberry Pi 3B+.🤬🤬

**Developer response:** Can you get in touch with support@hirmer.me please? Thanks!

### 2/5 — Unsure if there’s any functionality here other than ssh client

*2023-02-17*

None of the monitoring works , and there’s no instructions if third party scripts need to be installed on the Pi to enable the monitoring to work. Plus I had to pay to discover this lack of functionality. My fault for stepping out of FOSS

To add insult to injury there’s a ton of tracking hacked into this for the devs benefit. Greedy.

**Developer response:** There’s a 7 day free trial to discover all the features. The monitoring works with most raspberry pi distributions. If you have one where it doesn’t work, contact support and I’ll look into supporting it.
What does tracking have to do wir greed?! Firebase Crashlytics is used for tracking crashes or errors only.

### 1/5 — Subscription Model

*2022-04-30*

I used the app once, and it seemed decent. I came back a while later, and it’s requiring me to pay a subscription fee to do anything. If it were a flat amount, I might be willing to pay it. However, this new SaaS (Software as a Service) trend is absurd. I wouldn’t have even bothered to download the program if I’d noticed it was *strictly* a subscription-based app.

This program isn’t a service. If the creator goes out of business and/or ceases to exist, there’s no reason that this program couldn’t keep functioning exactly as-is until whatever framework it’s written against is no longer supported by Apple.

Don’t try to sell your program on a subscription model unless you have regular expenses involved in keeping a non-updated program functional. Don’t do it unless you’re actually offering a service.

### 1/5 — False subscription Information

*2022-02-01*

In the app it shows that there’s a one week free trial. I’ve used it less than an hour and all I get is the pop up saying to subscribe whenever I try to connect.

**Developer response:** I’m sorry you’re having troubles. Can you send an email to support@hirmer.me with a screenshot so we can help you sort it out? Thank you!

### 2/5 — Doesn’t stay connected

*2021-12-24*

Doesn’t stay connected screens close and pop around

### 1/5 — Rejects credentials

*2021-10-30, version 3.2.3*

The app rejects identical credentials that other PI apps accept. Even when copy/paste from notepad into both apps.

The app description looks great, but as I can’t even login to my Pi, it’s a non-starter.

### 1/5 — Greedy author

*2021-10-16, version 3.2.3*

App is not bad, but after initial connection, the app asks you to subscribe and will not work in any way or shape.
And I needed a way to reboot safely my RPi4 print server…
Greedy author!!! Don’t subscribe- there are cheaper solutions…

### 1/5 — Bad app

*2021-05-30, version 3.2.3*

It look like a good app but as soon as you open it says subscribe on fee required like really why can’t the app be a onetime payment

### 1/5 — Subscription needed

*2021-03-15*

Requires a subscription to work as you cannot close out of the subscription page. Does not say this anywhere on the store page

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — No good

*2026-05-07*

You can’t even connect to verify that it works without buying a subscription. Not with a password and not with ssh. So I don’t know if it works, and I’m not willing to gamble $4.99 to find out. Only because I’ve been burned so many times by iPhone apps.

### 1/5 — Frequent issues

*2026-01-04, version 4.0.1*

This app does more wrong then it does good.
I tried it on my pi, and it’s alright, limited literally all the good functionality behind a paywall.

But when I close the app, it refuses to connect the next time I open it, If i press the connection button it OPENS THE PAYWALL. This put me off even buying the app at all. The only way to temporarily get it back is to remove the host, force close the app and open it again, set it up and you get it back until it closes. WASTE OF TIME

### 1/5 — Doesn’t do anything

*2025-12-13, version 4.0.1*

I connected to my Pi, but I can’t get it do anything. I’ve just paid the subscription and got nothing.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2025-08-29*

I got the app just to mess with my raspberry pi and it worked one day and then the next it would not let me do anything without paying so terrible app

**Developer response:** Hi! Thanks for giving the app a try — I’m an indie dev 🙂. There’s a free trial to explore everything first, then continued access helps support ongoing development. If it suddenly stopped working, that may be a bug — feel free to reach out through the app and I’ll help!

### 1/5 — Subscription Model

*2025-07-04*

This pay model implies active development and constant new features which this app does not receive.

### 1/5 — Trash

*2025-04-23*

Doesn’t work

### 1/5 — Raspberry

*2025-03-16*

App crashes several times and fails 50% of the time to display gpu, cpu, and temp settings. Very similar app in iPhone apps that does all this app does, better, and free.

**Developer response:** Can you give please reach out to support@hirmer.me with your raspberry pi configuration? We’ll be able to troubleshoot your issue, thanks!

### 1/5 — Doesn't work on iPad mini ios9 even though App Store n web site states it does.

*2025-02-05*

Doesn't work on iPad mini ios9 even though App Store n web site states it does.

### 1/5 — VERY BAD

*2024-03-24*

i can only use the app once before it won’t let me

**Developer response:** Can you please send us a email to support@hirmer.me? We’d like to get this resolved for you!

### 1/5 — Too expensive

*2023-10-22, version 3.2.3*

massively overpriced, deleted.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Fantastic app

*2025-12-01, version 4.0.1*

This is a fantastic app. Gives you a cli to your Raspberry Pi. This is the best way to use all the power of Linux cli from your iPhone via a Raspberry Pi. Full Bash and Python. And as an extra bonus it gives you stats on cpu, gpu and ram usage. And all for £4.99 per year. Can’t recommend this nearly enough - download now if you haven’t already :)

### 5/5 — Not bad

*2025-02-10, version 3.2.4*

Is what it is useful tool does what is says on the tin 👍

### 5/5 — Ill gladly pay 6 bucks a year

*2022-12-26, version 3.2.3*

I find this app very useful with a cheap reoccurring yearly payment. Highlyrecommend.

### 5/5 — Manage those RasPi’s

*2022-03-16, version 3.2.3*

I have a lot of RasPi’s some running all the time, some intermittantly. This package keeps a weather-eye on them all and enable remote management without the need for a PC or even to open an SSH session. OK, for the purist, it’s not perfect, but it’s getting there and IMHO is well worth the (small) cost for the benefits!

### 5/5 — Easy and useful

*2021-12-08*

This app Easy and useful. It took me seconds to connect my Raspberry Pi. I found it good that the developer responds to reviews. I got a bit concerned about privacy after I read a review. I am taking a deep look to the privacy policy. Anyway, I do not keep sensitive information innmy Raspberry Pi, so I should be good.

### 5/5 — Amazing!

*2021-11-06*

I don’t usually leave reviews but this app has made my life a lot easier, it’s a must have for any pi home server owners, its 5$ per year but honestly it’s worth it to support the developer ,beats having ads

### 5/5 — Superb design and functionality for a utility app

*2021-01-23*

It’s been refreshing to use SimplePi to remotely manage my Raspberry server.
Coming from ocassional GUI-based Linux to server monitoring via command line was rocky for me.
This app has really made it so easy for me to automate and organize those periodic checks and commands, and launch them directly from my mobile. I have a lot less needs to connect via desktop.
The visual design, organization, and cleanness of the app makes it very appealing and it shows the developer cares about much more than base functionality.
In this category of niche utilities this app stands out. Responsive support too!

### 5/5 — Justice In The Making

*2020-12-24, version 3.2.3*

What a gem! This has a very bright future, keep up the tremendous work!

### 4/5 — Good app but unclear how to do certain things

*2021-02-25*

After about half an hour of trying, I can’t figure out how to remove a command I added from the list, and more importantly I can’t see any option at all for how to view the results log.

Tapping on the command in the list runs it and you get a green check mark but then i can’t look up the results unless the command was created using the show results on completion option.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback! You can delete commands by accessing the command options menu. Swipe left on any command in the list and you’ll see the option.
The menu will show you “delete” and “edit”.
The edit menu not only gives you the option to edit any command parameter but also to view past command results.
Hope this helps! If you have any other questions ping me at support@hirmer.me.

### 3/5 — Good but with caveats

*2021-06-25, version 3.2.3*

It’s a good app, and I like how user friendly it is. However I think the pricing makes it a tough choice. It’s hard to make the case for yet another subscription, especially when the app hasn’t been updated for several months now and there is no free basic features given.
