### 2/5 — Decent, the support is terrible!

*2026-08-26, version 10.4.5*

It is decent for very very basic functions. It is difficult to find data that you need and good luck getting an answer from support faster than three days. I wish I had started with a whole different software because it was a pain to change, but absolutely worth it!
There are several better options out there!

### 4/5 — More please

*2026-08-20, version 10.4.5*

This app is lacking a lot of features. The one I’d like to prioritize is one for supervisors so we can sign and confirm notes from our therapists.

### 2/5 — Be Aware - This Requires You To Conform…

*2026-07-24, version 10.4.4*

Default entries are required in client profiles that will automatically override any later billing code changes made elsewhere in the application and will report the default in error. The app will make it look like your entries are saved, but you will be forced to edit the profile before editing and locking the note for that client visit. Highly impractical when you have clients back to back.

### 2/5 — iPad

*2026-07-07, version 10.4.3*

The biggest issue that I have is that when using my iPad and the Note Taker feature, the recording fails to upload. Waste of money when paying for a feature that does not work. Spoke to tech support over 2 weeks and was informed they are aware of the issue. However, no update or a refund for the feature not working properly. Searching for a new provider.

### 3/5 — clunky for anything not a therapy session, very frustrating customer support, bad accessibility

*2026-05-14, version 10.3.0*

Simple practice is fine if the only thing you do is have 50 minute sessions with people who have no cognitive or physical challenges and don’t do any testing. When I asked about accessibility features in my intro “help” session I was told to publish a comment in their suggestion forum and no effort was made whatsoever for improvement. All billing is tied to the calendar which does not work for assessment even when billing in units, and there is not a good way to track deposits on large assessment charges. They push you VERY HARD to their AI chat bot and email for any support, which is very time consuming, (you must wait for replies to every question and 95% of the time my question is lost in translation) and will do everything they possibly can to not talk to you. Also questionnaires, notes, and other templates are extremely limited. However, I’ve been able to find a good platform for assessment/neuropsychology to move to.

### 2/5 — Calendar Mafunction

*2026-04-23, version 10.3.0*

When looking at my clinician calendar, the name of the month has disappeared. Even when I flip though consecutive months, I have no idea what month it is and must use the TODAY tab to get me back to the current month. Please fix. I will delete the app and try reloading to see if it resolves.

### 2/5 — Not Simple

*2026-04-15, version 10.3.0*

This app is very limited in functions you need when you’re running a private practice. Frustrating!

### 3/5 — It was good

*2026-03-21, version 10.2.0*

Things were great until the most recent update- now I can’t see my virtual appointment slots booked from my phone app.

### 3/5 — Glitchy update

*2026-03-10, version 10.2.0*

This new update won’t let me sign off on my notes. Used to be a flawless system, not a fan of the new glitches.

### 2/5 — Constant notifications

*2026-03-05, version 10.1.11*

Notifications always get stuck and never clear out even when you open the app and clear everything out. It always shows a notification energy the app is closed. Very annoying.

### 2/5 — Glitches and loss of appointments

*2026-02-23, version 10.1.11*

First I want to say, while I am certainly grateful to simple practice and that they developed an app for us to use instead of needing to always sign into our computers a lot of times to manage our appointments and scheduling with clients, I find that the app often continues to be glitchy, slow to load, even loses my information when I am trying to set appointments with clients. Over the past 6-8 months, maybe since the big app overhaul a couple of years ago, either an appointment was not saved, was saved for a wrong time or I’ve missed an appointment because the information I put in was not save properly. Now I know this can sound like a me problem and I will own my part in having fat thumbs but a lot of it is that the wheel of death shows up and takes forever to load. Most days, if I need to manually change a clients appointment or put information in, I often don’t trust the app or have to set aside 15 mins for it adjust so I can make changes. I am much more inclined to use my desk top than the app any day. It has been bothersome enough to consider changing our practice system to another product, sadly…and I’ve been with SP since their beta testing. So hopefully something can be done to improve its user interface speed.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-01-20, version 10.1.10*

It’s not just the app, Simple Practice, as a whole, is terrible. It’s flashy but way too expensive for what it offers. If you are a provider, just get used to your claims, sitting untouched for weeks-on-end before you will ever get paid. And forget about customer service or technical support, all you will get is a form email and links to 10 YouTube videos that may or may not slightly address your problem. You cannot submit claims in the app, and, let’s face it, getting paid is why we need a system like this. However, paying its providers is Simple Practice’s LAST priority.

### 2/5 — Scrolls up when writing note

*2025-12-16, version 10.1.10*

Every time i try to write a note from my phone or iPad, it scrolls back up to the top and i can’t see what I’m writing. Please fix this

### 3/5 — Still can’t do a chart note or turn on an away message

*2025-12-16, version 10.1.10*

Look, the app has gotten a lot better, but it’s still lacks basic functionality for what I need to do on my phone.

Literally the most likely thing I’m going to need to do on my phone away from the office is to write a chart note.

A client may reach out and need to chat with me or I finally connect with that colleague that I need to consult with and I just need to write a damn chart note to document what’s happening when I am away from the office. But no.

Further, the fact that I can’t turn on an automated away message in the secure messaging is also infuriating.

I still don’t understand why these two basic functionalities are missing as oodles of are being added, as though people are trying to run their entire practice from their phone.

### 2/5 — Scrolls down by itself

*2025-12-09, version 10.1.9*

It’s annoying when writing notes because it scrolls down all by itself while documenting. I tried restarting my phone, deleting and uploading the app again and checked on updates, nothing worked.

### 3/5 — Getting better but still needs work

*2025-12-04, version 10.1.9*

I use the app a lot. It’s more convenient for me. I can tell that they’ve tried to make improvements and I appreciate that they are working on it. However, it’s still a little glitchy. The main gripe I have at the moment is that if I’m using the app to write notes when I tap the section I’m trying to type in it automatically scrolls to the bottom of the screen so as I fill out the note I’m scrolling back up to the section I’m filling out over and over again. It’s maddening. Please fix this.

### 3/5 — Press and hold to move appointments

*2025-11-21, version 10.1.9*

I really liked the press-and-hold feature for appointments when it was first introduced in a recent version, but it was removed in later minor updates. I reached out to customer service several months ago, and they said they would pass my feedback along. However, I’m not sure it ever made it to the development team. I’d love to see this feature brought back.

### 1/5 — App not functioning with updated iOS

*2025-11-15, version 10.1.8*

App is not functioning with last two iOS updates including 18.… Or iOS 26. One. Can't schedule appointments by clicking on the calendar per usual. Appointments are disappearing if you attempt to move them and make a change for future sessions. Appointment disappears or goes to random day or get deleted. Please fix these bugs as my whole business is reliant upon this app functioning properly. Thank you.

### 3/5 — New update problems

*2025-11-12, version 10.1.8*

With the new update the screen keeps scrolling to the bottom while I’m typing, so you can’t see what you are typing.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — pretty stupid always tells me I have to update the app when it’s already updated

*2026-08-24, version 10.4.5*

and it never ever accepts my password no matter how many times I change it every single time it says your passwords are wrong

### 1/5 — Can’t reset password

*2026-08-06, version 10.4.4*

Says to update app to reset password but it’s updated and won’t send reset link to email because of it

### 1/5 — Privacy Toggle

*2026-06-24, version 10.4.1*

New “Privacy” feature does not allow privacy toggle to be switched “on.” When “off,” it allows Simple Practice to collect private client/patient data

### 1/5 — Lack of privacy

*2026-06-24, version 10.4.1*

There is a toggle that says it is retaining de identified client data Even though I do not use their AI and there is no way to turn it off. I chatted with the AI bot who said don’t worry about it since I don’t use the AI note taker but I want to be able to turn it off! Simple practice get it together before I leave the platform.

### 1/5 — Exposed billing costs

*2026-05-06, version 10.3.0*

I have used this app for over a year and the choice s of provider levels are bare minimum. I do not like that every level gives the provider the cost of service fees!!! I want only admin to have this information and billing. I am leaving and going to a EHR that doesn’t share this information with providers

### 1/5 — Cares more about money than client care

*2026-04-23, version 9.13.4*

I've used Simple Practice as a clinician for over five years and have never had a problem.Compared to other EHR platforms, it's always been my favorite because it is easy to use and does everything that you need it to. HOWEVER: they suddenly decided to drop support for the telehealth feature on any device older than an iPhone 11. This means that with less than a month's notice, my completely telehealth practice is no longer accessible to over 50% of my current caseload. My clients living in rural areas (who HAVE to use telehealth) cannot afford to upgrade their phone that is working just fine for the sole purpose of being able to join a telehealth session- they also can't afford to go out and buy a computer or tablet to be able to join sessions. when I raised this concern to Simple Practice, I was met with a response that basically consisted of it not being their problem clients won't be able to access care because they are focusing on streamlining support for the telehealth feature to be more focused on only certain versions of devices. Essentially, Simple Practice has put the value of making a dollar over continuity of client care. To be so okay with a huge portion of the client population suddenly losing access to therapy-especially coming from a therapy platform-is absolutely mind-boggling and incredibly disappointing. I don't know of any other EHR system that has made a similar choice in the devaluation of people's wellbeing. If they have been able to support telehealth on all models of technology up until now, it makes zero sense why they cannot continue to do so to allow people can continue to access the care that they need. after being a loyal customer for so many years, I will be going elsewhere and am incredibly sad to have been forced into making that decision.

### 1/5 — Glitch

*2026-04-15, version 10.3.0*

Ever since the new app update, I cannot read or communicate with my top chat messages from my clients as it is being blocked by a banner.

### 1/5 — Exploits Clinicians, unreliable

*2026-03-19, version 10.2.0*

This app is evil, it takes advantage of clinicians and provides 0 support. It seems convenient at first but you end up spending more work than if you just did everything manually from the start.

### 1/5 — App consistently has issues

*2026-03-02, version 10.1.11*

Again the app could be so valuable and is. I use it most often. However, there are many bugs that need to continue to be worked out. The newest bug is writing messages. It appears to add words images without even being tapped on. Doesn’t matter if you use voice to text if you’re typing it. Or if you’re clicking on the words, it’s only in this app and it’s happening on. Of our therapist and admin’s phones. Somethings wrong fix it please

### 1/5 — Video Calls Disastrous

*2026-01-28, version 10.1.10*

Don’t want to be able to finish what you’re saving with a client? This is the platform for you! Good luck!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — App

*2025-12-27, version 10.1.10*

I have used the app multiple times for writing my notes and reading notes and everything else. I don’t like how it moves back to the beginning of the note if I’m typing on it as one person said. Also, I keep getting a reminder to use the simple practice for clinicians and I thought maybe I could change client settings on it since it has been updated and it was saying it was a better experience. But I can’t, for example change how a client receives reminders.

### 5/5 — So much better

*2025-07-16, version 10.1.0*

I am so glad to be able to access client files from the app now, and to have the AI note taker in the app. Great update. Two suggestions: 1. When using the app to add a document to a client’s file, the “take a photo” option does not allow for cropping, and the photo it appears to be taking is different dimensions after the photo is taken, making it essentially non functional. Can you add back the crop feature?
2. The old passcode screen with smaller numbers was way better. The image of the buttons seemed better aligned to the function of the buttons.
I couldn’t find a way to give feedback except here, so maybe a support function aside from the bot would be great as well!

### 5/5 — The perfect app

*2025-06-12, version 9.13.3*

Okay it’s not actually perfect but it allows me to do everything I need to do, functionally and reliably.

### 5/5 — Great software

*2025-05-20, version 9.13.3*

It does make the practice easier by doing billing with insurances a much simpler way rather than having to write it out yourself and submit to various companies it auto populates the claim information going directly to the insurances and now there is assistance to make sure claims are paid and also help with progress note writing as it can listen record your session and type the notes.

### 5/5 — Not just for therapists

*2025-05-12, version 9.13.2*

I’ve tried many different practice management platforms over the past 15 years and I’ve yet to find one that meets 100% of my needs (yeah I’m fussy). But Simple Practice is by far the best. The mobile app is my secret weapon for note taking. I run it on my iPad.

### 5/5 — Great software program and staff

*2025-05-02, version 9.13.2*

The easiest software program that I have used and that’s going back quite a while. Enjoy it. It’s worth it.

### 5/5 — Love it

*2025-04-03, version 9.13.2*

I have been so pleased with Simple practice for the past 7 years! Thanks!

### 5/5 — Great app for my counseling practice

*2025-01-02, version 9.12.2*

I love simple practice and have used it for 10 years

### 5/5 — A must for therapists

*2024-11-06, version 9.12.1*

Love the ease of the app to integrate my notes and update billing!

### 5/5 — Amazing EHR Platform! Needs iPad app ASAP!

*2024-10-22, version 9.12.1*

A solid EHR platform that has been a game-changer for managing my practice—intuitive design, easy to use, and helps me stay organized. However, it would be even better with support for an iPad app for more flexibility during sessions. Looking forward to seeing this added in the future along with widgets and native mac/desktop integrations!
