### 5/5 — This is well worth it!

*2011-09-03, version 2.03*

Very simple and organized. The free version doesn't let you have a lot of items on a list, but you can still have quite a few. It's easy to use, and easy to read. I highly recommend downloading this. If you find the version that costs more, go ahead and get that if you can. This app is worth the space on your iWhatever-you-have.

### 5/5 — L-O-V-E it!

*2011-07-28, version 2.03*

It's amazing! Exactly what I was looking for! I could possibly be addicted to this! The ONLY thing that could make it better would be; being able to change the background and being able to cross things out :) But I LOVE IT!!!!!!! thnx

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2011-06-24, version 2.03*

I had this once, then deleted it because I didn't need it. But this is a bargain! I simply love this app and encourage others to get it! I have it again now! I am so happy and can't wait for my next travel or grocery stop to use it! It's also kid friendly! I love this and would give it 10,000 stars if I could!
P.S. How do you make the thumbs?

### 5/5 — Outstanding checklist and to-do app

*2011-03-12, version 2.03*

Like many of the other reviewers, I had tried several other to-do list apps before finding this one. I have been using Errands (done by an excellent developer) but this one, surprisingly, is much better for grocery lists and to-dos. This app is exactly what I was looking for and more. Allows me to create a custom grocery list of all the things I usually buy and I simply uncheck items when I need them which moves them to the top of the list. I then have a checklist of items to take with me to the store. The master list is always there, I just uncheck items when needed and check them when I don't. It even lets me e-mail the list to my wife (or anyone else) right from the app. Works fine as a to-do list also. All this and it's free, too! Very well done. Great job!

### 5/5 — Easy, reliable, fast

*2011-01-16, version 2.03*

This is one of my favorite apps. I use it for grocery lists. Instead of deleting an item after I purchase it, I just check the item and it drops to the bottom of my list. When I need to buy it again, I just uncheck it and it appears at the top of the list. I've tried specific grocery and shopping lists and they just take too much time.

I haven't tried the paid version yet, but I will someday.

### 5/5 — Exactly what I wanted!

*2010-05-18, version 0*

My graduation is coming up and all I needed was a simple checklist to joy down all the errands I need to do before the big day. This was easy to use and exactly what I was looking for!

### 5/5 — Better than I expected

*2010-05-07, version 0*

This app is great! Better than some of the apps you have to pay for! Would like to be able to have more than one list within the lists though. Overall it is a really useful and easy app!

### 5/5 — YAY!

*2010-03-04, version 0*

Haha, I've always wanted a good to-do list. This is the BEST! It would be better if it had more personalization options, and you could delete lists. Not just items. I won't complain though(:

This is my favorite to-do list. It has prioritizing options, due dates, and you can add notes to any items as well! Overall best free to-do list. I refuse to buy one when a really nice one is right here. {;

### 5/5 — Love love love!

*2010-02-10, version 0*

I love this app so much I am seriously considering upgrading to the paid version (and I'm pretty cheap). Love that I can make any list, with any sorting (priority, deadline, alphabetically, manually) with or without check marks and notes. I was looking for an app where I could keep to-do lists, grocery lists, rotating weekly to-do's, and this has EXCEEDED my expectations. And really, the ad at the bottom of the free version isn't that bad, I hardly notice it.

### 5/5 — The best list app!

*2010-01-29, version 0*

Easy to use and fexible. Let's you create different settings for each list. Sort, check things off, have due dates.

### 5/5 — Updates

*2010-01-14, version 0*

Some updates I would like to see include a calendar for adding due dates instead of the scrolling and also I would really appreciate auto sort options.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Last update changes ruined it!

*2014-10-24, version 2.10*

This was a great little app until the last update. Why oh why do they mess with a good thing? What happened to the checked items mice to the bottom of the list? That was a very nice feature. I used to recommend this app to everyone of my friends and family. Not anymore. I'm not going to buy the full version just to have the same features that really don't work as well as they used to. Stop changing a good thing. Bring back the old version. It was so much better.

### 3/5 — Does not sync automatically between devices

*2016-08-17, version 2.18*

This app is useful for simple list-making, but does not automatically sync between my iPhone and iPad... and I use both. You have to export and import the added information between devices and if you're not careful about which device has the newer information, you will delete information or double-add your lists. Very frustrating as it has the potential of being one of the best list-making apps!

### 3/5 — Was a 5

*2016-04-10, version 2.18*

This app was "Simplicity" and power. The recent insertion of the aggressive advertising band at the top is really eye and brain irritating and makes me never want to even glance at the ads to see what they are.

Returning to the iPhone's "Reminders" app after years with Simplist revealed that Reminders has the same manual sort feature and might be a good alternative especially free and without ads.

The advantage to Simplist is the type size which allows much more information per page.

### 3/5 — No backup ability

*2014-10-23, version 2.10*

I have used this app for years and I love it. Recently the ability to email the notes has been removed. I was using that as a backup. My iPad crashed and when I restored, the app did not restore my notes. Since the email feature was removed, I lost all of my recent notes and updates. I was considering a purchase, but I can't pay for something that I can't backup. I will continue to use Google Keep (even though this has the best format) just to make sure I don't have to type everything in over and over.

### 3/5 — Free is not the same as adware

*2010-01-30, version 0*

This "free" app has an annoying adware bar. List functionality and management looks good (and it is surprisingly hard to find a simple checklist app). But the ads rule it out for me.

I could not find any mention of ads in the product description. There is a paid version ($2) that might not have ads -- or maybe it does, who knows? I'm not going to pay $2 for the privilege of finding out....

### 4/5 — Use almost daily

*2015-08-11, version 2.18*

I make a list for everything on this App. My favorite is a list of monthly bills. I can keep a basic list, yet easily move items up and down the list as needed. I can even set a reminder alarm for due dates. There's only two complaints: 1) a note can not be added at the same time as creating the item to be checked off - you have to save and go back in. 2) when emailing the list to someone else, they can not mark a check on the list.

### 4/5 — Liked this app but....

*2015-01-22, version 2.14*

I have used this app for a few years and really liked it. The latest update is not as user friendly or visually friendly.
A new bug? Recently I noticed the due date field is a day off. Feb 1 is a Sunday but the app shows it as Saturday. Makes it confusing to set due dates.

### 4/5 — LOVE this app.

*2015-01-06, version 2.13*

Would be 5 stars except I hate when an update removes a feature or makes something worse. Put the ad back at the bottom. And please give us back the option for checked items to move down. Don't know why that option got removed. I like seeing my checked items but I like the option of them moving down to the bottom. Otherwise I LOVE this app! Simple to use. Not a bunch of folders and colors like other apps. Love the easy sorting and deleting. Love the options to email or copy list. Love the check boxes.

### 4/5 — Simplist Free

*2010-01-24, version 0*

Excellent product. Better than any other to do program at Apps store. Can maintain multiple lists and decide which ones give you a notice of undone tasks on the main iphone screen. Priority and due dates and notes easy to enter. Good control over fonts and presentation of data. Get this one!

### 4/5 — Very well done!

*2009-11-16, version 0*

I have been trying out a few "to do list" apps, and this is definitely the best - especially for free! A few features I looked for:
1. Simplicity & ease of use. Selections can't be too small to tap on with my big fingers, and it has to be pretty fast to add new items.
2. Reusability. We have our "tried & true" things we get from certain places (Trader Joe's, Costco, Whole Foods Market), and I would like to quickly reuse an older list. This gives a very good way of doing that, especially with the sort by checked status.
3. Organization. The ability to create and name the lists (Trader Joe's, Costco, WFM, etc.) and work with each list separately is great.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Needs minor adjustment

*2020-04-30, version 2.30*

Thanks for the update! The color scheme doesn’t seem to be compatible with iPhones dark mode though. The first page is white on gray. It would be nice to be able to adjust the font size as well.

### 5/5 — Tried a bunch this is the best!!!

*2016-04-10, version 2.18*

This one works great! I have categories for personal, household and work. This makes it so I can focus on where I am and not worry about work when I am at home and home when I am at work. Because you can make so many different list groups you can separate things all you want. Perfect examples:
1. My wife and I decide to have a yard sale 2 months in advance. Every time I thought of something to put in the yard sale I would add it to the list. This was the first yard sale in 20 years that I didn't come across something a week after the yard sale that I had forgotten to put in it!

I have used this app 1,760 times! It tracks that also :)

2. I started a list of what we needed to take on vacation 2 weeks before we left and added to it as things popped in to my head. We didn't forget anything! A first do us!

Thanks very much for creating one of my most productive apps!

### 5/5 — Helps organize our shopping lists...

*2016-02-10, version 2.18*

...for various stores easily, with minimal learning curve. It has a well-designed interface that's intuitive to use, so it quickly replaced our paper lists.

Would suggest three improvements:
Add a few larger font size options.
To the menu for moving items between lists, also add "Copy item" (to eliminate several steps needed for to do the standard copy/paste actions).
It would be great to have the ability to scan UPC codes, like some other shopping apps. have.

### 5/5 — Perfect and easy

*2016-01-10, version 2.18*

I have used this app for years now. It's simple and easy to use. I have 5 or 6 lists on it and I like how you can easily add, delete or even move items from one list to another.

### 5/5 — Best list app, tried them all!

*2015-01-13, version 2.13*

Allows me to have lists within a list which is SO hard to find in list apps! Simple interface, very easy to navigate. Like the look of the update but not the icons they chose for the buttons at the bottom. Still a great 5 star app!!!

### 5/5 — Easy to use. Comprehensive list maker

*2014-11-26, version 2.11*

My grandson told me about this app. I keep all kinds of lists on it and find it easy to use, easy to add to, and find it serves as a reminder when those little pieces of paper turned out to be indecipherable. And it's free.

### 5/5 — Fav

*2014-11-24, version 2.11*

This is one of my favorite apps. I use it constantly and always have like 10 different lists going. I love checking the boxes when I finish stuff. I know that sounds dumb, but it seriously helps keep me organized and keeps me from forgetting stuff.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2014-11-12, version 2.11*

Wonderful app for a list-make like me. I really like how easy it is to use, from sorting the list manually to checking and unchecking to deleting. I have multiple lists here. However, I don't like the fact that the ad has moved to the top- it's annoying there. I wish they'd move it back to the bottom.

### 5/5 — Good app

*2012-05-13, version 2.03*

So far I like this app for its simplicity & ease of use. Editing doesn't mess up my existing lists - problem I had with other apps. Big plus that you can rearrange the lists order as well as items in the list

### 5/5 — User

*2012-02-28, version 2.03*

This is BY FAR THE BEST list/task organizing app ever. I tried all the free list apps available and Simplist is the most user friendly and versatile. It will conform to any personality. Wether you want lots of details on your lists or just " simplicity", Simplist is the app for you. I tried them all and deleted everyone except Simplist. Can't say enough about it.
