This was a great app. Just card games. No gimmicks. It’s like the developers lost interest in updating. It says 4 years since last update. I still play because I’m stubborn and won’t give up. It Was A Great Game *2022-10-27* I’ve been enjoying Bid Whist greatly, and was going to pay to remove the ads from Simply Cards, for that alone. I own several Magmic games, and they used to be really good until recently. Recently, something weird is going on. Skip-Bo is no longer licensed, and was removed from my device, and as another user said, Spades is not playing well. (I have both the standalone Spades Pro, as well as the version with Simply Cards. As stated, the partner AI does not support its partner at all. It’s just not fun to play anymore, and if you adapt, it forms bad habits for when you play in person. Real spades players do not act that way. Now, when I try to play Whist, it open up the ‘Rate Us’ window. This wouldn’t normally annoy me. I love the game. However, it locks up entirely at that point. Whether I push ‘Rate’, ‘No Thanks’, ‘Later’, or the back arrow, nothing happens. I can see the button depressing, but it doesn’t go anywhere. And since it opens every time I open the game, the game has become completely unplayable. SO disappointed. Two issues I ran into: first, the game stops working when asked to leave a review. I have to delete and reinstall for it to work. Second, it starts slowing down significantly after a while. Same fix of having to delete and reinstall. I have been unable to leave that page, unless I uninstall the game, then reinstall it. This was recommended by the manufacturer of that previous game. This is the worst!!! The AI strategy is to play “give-away,” and I couldn’t win a game at all. I switched from the partners version to single player and now I can’t lose because I know the other AI players play to lose. It’s boring, and I am losing my skill to play properly. Looking for a new game... ### 1/5 — Worst AI players ever! *2018-11-12, version 3.2.5* Obviously whoever programmed this game does not know the first thing about playing spades individually or as a team. What a joke! ### 1/5 — 30 second ads between hands??? *2018-11-01* Spades is supposed to be a decently paced game. Having an ad in between every hand, especially when those ads are as long as 30 seconds, takes the fun out of the game. Also, your scoring system is off. There was a hand where I bid 5 and my partner bid 5. I got 4 and my partner got 6. We made our total of ten, but we also got a bag in the hand. That isn’t right. One last thing... the AI is terrible. If I bid nil, the AI will lead low cards after they took a trick of the same suit wasting a high card. For example, 2C is lead, I play 6C, then 5C is played, and my partner plays the AC. Partner then leads 3C. What the ??? ### 1/5 — Latest update is unrecognizable *2018-09-22* Magmic's Spades was my go-to game. Solid AI; lots of options mixing up opponents and level of play. This version is not an update but a complete replacement, and a move in the wrong direction. They broke something that needed zero fixing beyond a small tweak or two. In short, the UI and AI are unplayable for anyone who knows how to play. Removed from my phone and looking for a replacement. The game freezes. There’s a screen that comes up upon opening that makes you rate the game and nothing happens. You then have to reinstall to play the game. VERY-FRUSTRATING. ### 1/5 — Team Player useless *2021-01-22* Fantastic game play everyday but still has bugs and the team player is ridiculous especially in Echre when the nearly always if not always order you up with a bower and I will have a strong hand with another suit and they will only have 1 card of the suit they just ordered me up with. Hate it when I’m the dealer for this reason. Had to delete and download game 4 times now due to glitches in the game. Have just had to delete and re-download game again due to glitches. Now it keeps coming up to write a review and won’t let you action it therefore you cannot play the game.
