It loads but then deletes the picture and I upload according to the rules of profile pictures. ### 2/5 — Used to be good. Can become great. *2026-02-16* I downloaded this app about a year ago and at that time this app was very buggy but they got the job done well. I’ve gotten back on this app recently and I can say it’s becoming a muslim tinder which is scary. Monetization of a service like this does not work long-term. It works for Tinder because these people don’t want to get married and will continue to come. Muslims ideally won’t be returning customers unless some men want four. A suggestion I can make as pivoting towards adsif money is genuinely a necessity. “watch this advertisement to get more like likes” I don’t know what’s going on in the background with finances but this is very concerning given the weight of marriage. additionally, there needs to be more weight given to the wali involvement on this app. This app has potential, and I hope it doesn’t get squandered **Developer response:** We appreciate you taking the time to write this thoughtfully. First, the intention of Simply Nikah has never been to become a “Muslim Tinder.” The structure is built around mutual matching, privacy controls, limited cold messaging, and optional wali involvement precisely to avoid a casual culture. If anything feels like it’s drifting, that’s feedback we take seriously. On monetisation: infrastructure, moderation, verification, security, and ongoing development all have real costs. Ads may sound simple, but introducing ads into a matrimonial space raises privacy, dignity, and ethical concerns. “Watch an ad to get more likes” may work in gaming apps, but marriage carries weight we’re cautious about turning it into a reward mechanic. You’re right about something important: Muslims ideally should not be repeat customers. That’s actually the goal. A sustainable model for a marriage platform is different from a dating app, and we are constantly evaluating how to balance affordability, sincerity, and long-term viability. Regarding wali involvement we agree this deserves more prominence. We are exploring ways to strengthen structured, family-inclusive features without overcomplicating onboarding. We don’t claim perfection. But we are building intentionally, and we welcome constructive feedback like this. The app constantly crashes, and in total I’ve only been able to use it for around three hours. Despite paying for premium, I’ve had no matches and an extremely poor user experience. I genuinely signed up in good faith, believing this was a trustworthy platform, especially as it is endorsed by Mufti Menk. Unfortunately, this has not been the case. I do not feel comfortable paying for a service that does not function properly and feels misleading. Second of all, men SHOULD NOT HAVE EASY ACCESS TO MESSAGE ME WHENEVER THEY WANT. If I don’t like them back, they should not have access to message me or call me either. But you also have Lightning Chat, which lets you message without matching: free users get 1 per day, premium users get 5. We’re working to reduce glitches and improve speed thanks for your patience! ### 1/5 — Profit driven first, Ummah left behind last *2025-11-01* Let me start by addressing the elephant in the room: It looks like the developers deleted my previous review, but I’m not backing down. If the truth hurts, that’s on you but I’ll keep posting it until it sticks. This app is a blatant cash grab, plain and simple. The creators clearly prioritize profits over serving the Ummah or fostering genuine connections in the Muslim community leading to marriage. There’s zero emphasis on user experience or ethical matchmaking; it’s all about squeezing money out of hopeful users. The biggest red flag? The overwhelming majority of profiles are ghosts or inactive for months on end. You’re constantly wasting your limited swipes on people who’ve long since logged out and have no intention of returning. It’s frustrating and feels deliberately deceptive, like the app is padded with dead accounts to create the illusion of a bustling user base. I shelled out for the monthly subscription, and it was a complete waste. Zero value, no meaningful interactions, just regret. Save your money and time, there are better, more sincere options out there for finding a halal match. Developers, if you’re reading this: Step up or shut down and leave the Ummah out of empty promises. **Developer response:** We didn’t delete your review we simply don’t engage in silencing criticism. You’re entitled to your opinion, but calling it a “cash grab” doesn’t make it true. The app has remained free for over a year while we’ve invested heavily in moderation, verification, and ongoing development all of which come at a real cost. If your experience fell short, we understand the frustration. But holding a platform solely responsible for personal outcomes, while dismissing the effort behind it, is neither fair nor constructive. We remain committed to serving the Ummah with sincerity and purpose. After going to an event where everyone reported there were matched with people 10 years older, I decided to give this app a go. After having no success ( I’m very handsome and charming) I decided to ‘ blanket like’ 300 woman and guess what.. nothing. It’s been a complete waste of time and many of the option do not work. There is no way to contact them and I have not had any response to any email I have sent. There whole thing is a con and a scam, paying Zakat with dodgy money. ### 1/5 — Immediate Refund Request – Extremel *2025-08-05* Hi Team, I am extremely disappointed with my experience on SimpliNika. After paying for a 3-month membership, the app stopped working. Despite multiple attempts — including restarting and reinstalling the app — there was no proper functionality and no support response. Frankly, this feels like fraud. You advertise using respected Muftis and scholars, which creates a sense of trust — but the experience has been completely opposite. When I tried reaching your customer care, all I got were excuses like “Apple handles the payment” or other silly justifications. This is completely unacceptable. If you claim to be a reputed app, you should be taking responsibility for customer concerns, especially when it comes to money and emotional trust. I am no longer interested in using SimpliNika. Hiding a girl's photos is totally fine but once both parties are matched we should get an option to check the girls pics then. Don't you think it's an Islamic right for both a girl and a boy to see each other and not just go onto blindly dicuss other things without even knowing how a person looks.
