The app should have a simple account start / stop button. I have asked for this feature before but it is so annoying that you receive something you hadn’t personally chosen!!! ☹️ ### 4/5 — Tasty but need healthy filter *2026-02-12, version 5.18.0* I’m loving this the taste but would really love to filter on some low calorie meals ### 4/5 — Great Recipes – Packaging Could Be Improved *2026-01-14, version 5.18.0* While I have no complaints about the recipes, my biggest bugbear is the foil covers on the pots that the various ingredients come in. Unless you are very lucky they are almost impossible to remove using the pull tabs that they are provided with and I inevitably have to use a knife to open them. Why not put an opposing tab on the pot to assist leverage similar to the pots that individual portions of UHT milk or cream come in. Or, sticking to the milk theme, put the portions of ingredients in (easy open) sachets. ### 2/5 — Tricky *2026-01-04* Received a gift card for simply cook and it seemed like a good present, but the shine is wearing off quickly. They make you sign up and give your credit card details ( for a gift!!) before you can get your ingredients so if you forget to cancel you will be charged and receive more ingredients that you didn’t ask for. They do state constantly that you can cancel any time but checking out membership I can see nothing that refers to the gift we have received and it looks like we may be charged once a trial period has finished. This gift was also given to an elderly parent and I know for a fact it is going stress him out because he is going to wonder ( even more than us and we are pretty tech savvy ) if he is getting a gift or be billed. This may be a great app and a great idea but as a gift it comes with a whole lot of financial unknowns. ### 3/5 — Loses preferences *2025-10-21, version 5.16.1* I like the boxes but the app loses your preferences (my next box has 3 things I can’t eat because they’re too hot despite my preferences previously being set to mild or no spice) and you can’t cancel via the app, you have to log onto the website, it’s designed to keep you locked in so be aware. There’s also not much that isn’t spicy so not a lot of variety for me. ### 3/5 — App could be Improved to Manager 150 recipes for me anyway *2025-09-01, version 5.16.0* If the App included the opposite of the favourite button to select - a thumbs down for example- against each recipe perhaps even to filter out those recipes when selecting the four boxes. It would save a lot of time AND if I failed to select recipes I would not want any of my thumbs down to be included in my next box. ### 4/5 — Okay but …. *2025-08-18, version 5.15.0* So it’s really tasty and easy to make I agree with all that however the same recipes will be on there for months and it gets to a point we’re paying extra to eat the same foods constantly the June menu is the same as Augusts menu we’re waiting until the autumn months for potential change if no change we’re gonna look elsewhere our issue is the repetition with the menu ### 2/5 — Cheaper but untrue *2025-06-02, version 5.14.0* I saw a promo saying if i made my first order i would get cashback from wagestream controlled by retailer which is simplycook straightway now it says average waiting time of 2months. Then there is free gift claim which through different partners says different sum some say worth £27 some 37£. Even that is not given straight away which is not what its promoted as. So for me someone who plays with words around and is not straight forward especially when its trying to outbeat everyone in market is not honest and its my personal experienced opinion. ### 2/5 — It’s ok *2025-04-12, version 5.14.0* Some recipes ok, some to much and no flavour, recipes basic and can’t cancel subscription so had to contact bank. ### 2/5 — Almost half of recipes out of stock? *2025-03-19, version 5.12.1* Could be really good but recently more and more recipes are unavailable/out of stock? ### 1/5 — Took money without permission *2025-02-25, version 5.12.1* Ordered the trial box with four recipes. Tried one it was okay. Two weeks later £11 came out my bank and a box arrived with recipes that I didn’t order and cannot even use due to intolerances. Apparently i had signed a subscription, i hadn’t and i am very careful about these things. Unfortunately it can take 3 days to get a response from an email! Quick to scam and customer service is terrible. ### 1/5 — A tricky app *2025-02-20, version 5.12.1* Don’t try them!!!!!!!There is no way to contact them except by emailing them. Very very user unfriendly. What is more worse is that there is no way to track the delivery and no notification about the actual process of delivery at all! This company is just hooking new customs! The app is easy to use in my opinion. However, while it isn’t related to the app but the actual product itself, I feel like I can’t give it 5 stars due to the fact the boxes and little tubs are so hard to open. The box with the tubs in always rips when it’s opened and the tab on the tubs breaks easily, it barely opens it at all, which means I usually have to get a knife. Surely the app is advanced enough to give me an email or pop-up to let me know when my break is ending so I’m not surprised by a box of meals I don’t need? Everything is laid out for you in a sensible way ### 5/5 — 🍔 *2025-07-11, version 5.15.0* Great simple recipes and excellent service from the support team ### 5/5 — Three little pots of knowledge *2025-06-30, version 5.15.0* To buy the array of spices herbs pastes oils etc that make up the ingredients of these three pots would cost a fortune i counted over twenty in one of the meals i had , yes of course if you bought the ingredients yourself you would be buying larger quantities which would obviously would last longer but they also might go out of date before you use them all up , ive done it , what a waste.Yes £9.99 a month for 4 packs of 3 pots might appear expensive given the size of each pot but each pot contains up to 20 or more ingredients and each three pot pack gives you a truly outstanding high end restaurant quality meal for two people thats four meals for each of the two people . The recipe card and instructions are clear and easy to follow , i know , i did it and im no chef. We are using one 3 pot pack a week so spreading the 4 packs over a four week period meaning a special highendrestaurant quality meal once every week.
