This is the Conde Nast of the Mountain biking world. Unlike many mags which rattle on in acronyms and assume you already have a deep understanding of the technicalities of the sport, Singletrack provides you with interesting articles which make you want to go and explore the world on two wheels. You don't have to be an XC Hero to get this magazine. Anyone could read it and enjoy the articles. If you also love the sport then you'll see new ways to enjoy your ride wherever it might be. The layout of the app is brilliant with lots more photos and interactive content. The gear reviews aren't just a PR rehash from some bike manufacturer but proper tests after a beating in 'northern muck'. I suppose it was free but I kinda hoped for it to do more than this. ### 1/5 — App doesn't work *2016-11-06, version 4.9.94* Have just bought my first paper copy of SingleTrack and I'd love to subscribe, but the app simply doesn't work. I get the splash screen then it crashes out. Works fine on my iPhone but not the iPad. Unfortunately the app won't let me sign in any more. Every time I try, I get a message claiming I've entered an incorrect email/password. Using the same login details on the pocketmags site works fine, and it's not just me being an idiot spelling my email wrong. Every other mag I've tried works perfectly. Somehow pocket mags/singletrack manage to make a complete dogs breakfast of what should be a very simple process. Avoid. ### 1/5 — Still awful *2013-09-07, version 4.9.26* Avoid. The latest version as of September 2013 still has no pinch and zoom. And the fonts are a pixelated blurry embarrassment on an iPad. I thought it might be just me but my son's reaction was also "Yeurgh, that's hard to read!". It also has failed for the last 2 nights to let me download the latest version with server errors despite numerous reinstalls and hard resets. My advice to the (excellent) magazine editor is this: sack the app company - this has been rubbish for way too long now. Then employ the MBR app team to write you something which will do the magazine justice. Their app is a model of how it should be done. There are apps designed by children that work better than this useless waste of my phones storage space. Fails to open, constant crashing, unable to log in, PocketMags inability to link my Premier subscription from Singletrack Magazine to the app despite the passing all correct information to them. An utterly useless piece of software that doesn't deserve to pass the supposedly stringent App Store requirements. Sort it out or Singletrack Magazine will be losing my subscription at renewal time. ### 1/5 — Still??? *2012-12-09, version 4.2.5* 1 star cos have to give a star otherwise would be 0! Spent months with crashing issues but persevered as a huge fan. Now I can't even open the app without it crashing!!! Own 10's of mags which work flawlessly. Singletrack / Pocketmags, my subscription will NOT be renewed and ill never by another Pocketmags mags again.
