App won’t hold WiFi connect to camera. This app will not stay connected to the camera. Too bad, had high hopes for using for more applications. Following directions and disconnecting from Bluetooth does nothing. App won’t stay connected longer than thirty seconds. Device is pretty good, but the app is crap. Making things worse I’ll go back to restart the process over and it will not let me. A message pops up telling me the video has been uploaded already while it’s nowhere to be found .I paid around $720 for the SiOnyx Aurora Sport and for that money the App should work without these types of issues. ### 1/5 — App is unusable *2020-06-07, version 1.5* Unfortunately it’s very laggy and disconnects frequently making it unusable and unsafe for boating. Unfortunately this product is not it. App drops camera feed and forces you to reconnect. Not ideal when reliability is key when on the water and you spend $400 for a product that won’t keep you safe. They need to fix this ASAP. ## Most praised reviews (7 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Works great in airplane mode! *2021-09-25, version 1.11* Both my Aurora and Aurora Pro stream perfectly to my iPhone 12 mini with iOS 15. As long as my phone starts out in airplane mode and then I start the app and connect to the camera, it is solid. I always make sure I have a microSD card loaded in the camera in case there’s a firmware update when I open the app. The update happens smoothly without interruption. ### 5/5 — Great camera - ok App *2019-11-04* Hi developers- thanks for a functional app. Everything in the app works ok - but when downloading some Long videos (25 mins) it almost always errors between 20-30% - smaller videos <5 mins are fine. The camera is set to never turn off and the phones ONLY connected to the WiFi of the camera - mobile data off - Bluetooth off etc. - tried multiple settings to see if it helps but unfortunately not. Please could you have a look? Thankyou. ### 4/5 — A bit troublesome but it works *2021-11-17, version 1.11* On my iPhone it connects in the expected way by joining network from iPhone in network settings. Camera goes to live mode no issue. But on iPad it will not connect this way. You have to use the button in the app to add the device to the SiOnyx network. Doing it this way with Bluetooth off and airplane mode on is consistent. Not sure why it is this way but after talking to support who was very Helpful this is the design. Turn off Bluetooth via settings, connect to camera WiFi. Live view is slow, very slow frame rate. However what really bugs me- want to download a video from the camera to phone? Forget about it. 3 minute video takes 5 minutes to download. Suspect dial up connection might be faster... Camera doesn’t show up when plugged into the iPhone worth the camera connection dock, or on the iPad Pro e we otherwise straight USB connection.
