## What is Sipworthy?

Your next great coffee starts with remembering the last one. Sipworthy is a free coffee rating app and journal for iPhone and iPad. Rate café coffees, save tasting notes, track beans and keep the home brew recipes worth making again.

RATE A CUP IN SECONDS
• Tap the stars, pick the drink, save. Everything else is optional.
• Tell Sipworthy how you drink — one bag at a time, cup by cup, or both — and the app shapes itself around it.
• Made at home? Your coffee and recipe are already filled in, so a morning cup is one rating and done.
• Scan a coffee bag and Sipworthy reads the roaster, origin, process and roast date, right on your device.
• Add a photo, tasting notes, the café, the beans and the brew when you want to.
• Log a coffee with Siri or Shortcuts without opening the app.

DISCOVER YOUR TASTE
• Sipprint: a fingerprint of the flavors you rate highest, and how your taste is drifting.
• Personal rankings of your top coffees, cafés, roasters and beans, sharpened by quick head-to-heads.
• Year in Coffee: your year, on one card.
• Search and filter every cup you have ever had, instantly.

TOP LISTS — AUSTRALIA FOR NOW
• Sipworthy's shared top lists rank Australia's cafés, coffees and roasters from everyone's ratings. Everything else in the app works wherever you are.
• Browse them by city and by drink, or see what's best near you while you're in Australia.
• Rate an Australian café or coffee and your stars count towards the lists, anonymously. Rate anywhere else and it simply stays in your journal.
• Pick an Australian roaster from Apple Maps and see what everyone has rated from them, right beside your own history.

YOUR BEANS, BAGS AND DIAL-IN
• Adding a bag is a guided flow, one idea per page: scan the label, tap its flavors, add a few words and the roast, then the bag's facts.
• Dial in by taste: say whether a brew was sour, just right or bitter, and get the next grind to try.
• Dial in the whole drink, not just the shot — grind, dose, yield, time, milk and sugar — and the recipe fills in your next cup.
• A shelf for the coffees you buy and every bag of them: freshness, spend and cost per cup.
• Finish a bag with one question: your stars, and whether you would buy it again.
• Dial-in history reads your grind settings back out of the brews you have already logged.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• No account required for your journal. No analytics or ads.
• Top-list ratings are shared anonymously, and only the stars, drink, tasting notes, place and month. Turn sharing off or remove your shared ratings in Settings. Your notes, photos, prices and brew recipes stay private.
• Your journal stays on your device. Optional iCloud sync uses your own private iCloud storage.
• Export everything as JSON or CSV at any time.

SIPWORTHY PRO — ONE PURCHASE, NO SUBSCRIPTION
Logging, photos, bag scanning, iCloud sync, the bean shelf, top lists, rankings, Sipprint, Year in Coffee and export are free, always. Sipworthy Pro is a one-time in-app purchase that adds:
• The Buying Guide: what to look for on the bag, coffees worth buying again, grind settings that worked and the best value per cup, each with the evidence behind it.
• Brew & spending insights: how days off roast and brew ratio line up with your ratings, and what your café habit costs each month.
• Cost per cup: your beans, milk and sugar added up per cup with quick portion presets, and what your routine comes to in a month.
• Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets.
• Share cards for your Sipprint and rankings, and new Year in Coffee styles.
• Espresso, Cold Brew and Cherry app icons.
Pro works with Family Sharing.

Made for iPhone and iPad, with Dark Mode, Dynamic Type and VoiceOver support.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.3 — 2026-09-24

A warmer new look, and Pro now works out what every cup costs.

• A new look: a richer coffee palette, new type, and illustrated icons from the tab bar to the milks, sugars and tasting notes.
• New in Pro, Cost per cup: add up your beans, milk and sugar with quick portion presets, and see what each cup and a month of them cost. Find it in Insights or on any coffee on your bean shelf.
• Picking a café, roaster or coffee now shows what's already on Sipworthy, above the Apple Maps results, with how many people have rated each — including places nobody has rated yet.
• Sugar comes in halves: 1½ and 2½ sugars. Tap the last cube to halve it, or drag across the cubes.
• Outside Australia, Apple Maps search starts where you are, cost per cup uses your currency, distances use your units, and the Top lists tab says your country isn't ranked yet.
• Fixed: Near me could leave the top lists loading forever when Location Services was off.
• Fixed: after buying Pro, the purchase screen could keep waiting for a purchase that had already gone through.

### 1.2 — 2026-09-18

Dial in each bag once, and meet the roasters behind the coffee.

• Tell Sipworthy how you drink: one bag at a time, cup by cup, or a bit of both. Home, the + button and the Journal follow your answer, and you can change it in Settings.
• The bag on your bench leads Home: how fresh it is, the recipe it is made to, and what to do next.
• Adding beans is now a guided flow, one idea per page: scan or name the bag, tap its flavors, add a few words and the roast, then the bag's facts — and straight into dialing it in.
• Finishing a bag asks once for your stars and whether you would buy it again. Opening a new one offers to finish the old.
• The dial-in is the whole drink now: milk follows the drink, so there is none in a long black, and sugar has an amount and a kind. The recipe carries both to your next cup.
• Home offers one "Log a cup" — home or café is chosen on the next screen. Once today's beans are dialed in, logging leads and dial-in sits below it.
• Star the drinks you order most: press and hold in the chooser, and they lead every list.
• Pick a roaster from Apple Maps while you add beans, so the coffee counts towards Australia's top lists without a second trip to link it.
• Roaster names on your bean and cup screens are links, and a roaster's own screen now has "From everyone": what the top lists know about their coffees, under your own history.
• Adding beans from Home or the bean shelf opens a new cup with those beans already picked.
• Fixed: tapping a star on the sweet-spot card rated the coffee, so the stars vanished mid-rating.
• Fixed: Settings, Filters, Export and Import sat on the wrong background.
• Fixed: Insights and the Add sheet were clipped at the largest text sizes.

### 1.1 — 2026-09-17

A fresh look, Australia's top lists, and a better way to dial in.

• Top lists: a new tab ranks Australia's best cafés, coffees and roasters from Sipworthy ratings. Filter by city and drink, or see what's best near you. When you rate a café or coffee, the app tells you if your stars count. Ratings are shared anonymously, and you can turn sharing off or remove them in Settings.
• A new look, with warmer colors, new type and a little bloom when you save a cup.
• Rate in half stars, from one to five.
• Dial in home brews by taste: log grind, dose, yield and time, say whether it tasted sour, just right or bitter, and get the next grind to try. A just-right brew becomes that coffee's recipe.
• Rate each coffee once, on its own page, instead of every brew.
• Set grind, weights and time with number wheels.
• Pick cafés and roasters from Apple Maps, so the same place counts once.
• Every drink has its own icon, and a cup without a photo shows its drink.
• Settings is the gear on Home, Journal, Top lists and Insights.
• Insights opens faster on big journals, and edits to cafés, roasters and coffees no longer pause the app.
• Fixed: editing a café could clear its address, and a failed save could leave a cup half-changed.
