## What is Siteswap Explorer?

Siteswap Explorer animates juggling patterns using siteswap notation, which is a method some jugglers like to use to represent patterns using numbers.

The app is all about using siteswap rules to explore other patterns by manipulating the numbers. Instead of typing stuff in or picking from a list of patterns, you just press buttons to manipulate each siteswap.

You only get buttons that will work for the current pattern. Each tap produces another pattern and you get an animation of the result. There's no wrong answer, so you can just tap around whether you understand the theory or not!

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.0.9 — 2026-07-03

Added a transition calculator. If the current pattern is excited state (that is, if it needs extra throws to start it), you'll see a new button at the top of the pattern menu. It will give you a list of entry and exit transitions so you can animate the possibilities.

### 2.0.8 — 2026-06-04

- Added a share button in the pattern menu so you can share the current pattern.
- Added deep linking, so if you tap a shared link on your phone it will open in the app.
- Added anagrams list in the pattern menu (shorter list when auto-sort is enabled, to prevent duplicates).
- Animator tweaks.

### 2.0.6 — 2026-05-29

- Added speed control in app settings (or long press the slo-mo button)
- Little fixes

### 2.0.3 — 2026-05-19

- Various animator fixes for low number special cases
- Animator now shows passes more clearly in face to face mode
- The ladder diagram is now scrollable
- Various logic improvements

### 2.0.2 — 2026-05-15

- Landscape layout for iPad/Mac
- Sometimes you just want to type a siteswap in. There’s a new screen for that, slightly hidden in the settings page.
- Animate 0s, 1s and 2s more realistically (To be continued...)
- 3s and 1s don't make sense in 4 handed siteswap, so any siteswap with a 1 or a 3 is excluded in four handed mode.
- Bug fixes
