### 4/5 — Liz (Sitter)

*2024-12-12, version 3.1.9*

I find Sittr a great site to source babysitting. I have been on the site now for over 7 years.
The families I have meet are wonderful people and some have made me a part of their family.
It’s appeal to me is the couples that have me look after their treasures want to use a site that give them a high calibre of babysitters.

### 4/5 — How does one make contact with a human?

*2023-05-11, version 3.1.7*

I recently have been going through the sign up process but have come across a few issues. Sadly there seems to be no real way to contact an actual person in order to sort out the issues is there some phone no. Where I can talk to a person to get the issues resolved

### 1/5 — Terrible babysitters, no app support.

*2021-11-29, version 3.1.4*

Do not bother with this amateurish, untrustworthy app. Whenever I experienced problems with babysitters I was unable to write negative reviews, thereby undermining trust in its review system. I sought in-app customer support but never got replies. Terrible experience.

### 1/5 — Irresponsible money hungry company

*2021-08-04, version 3.1.4*

I was working as a babysitter through this app. On a job I found myself in a domestic violence situation (the parents) and had to call the police whilst comforting their children. I emailed the contact person on the app to let them know what had happened and I didn’t even get a reply. The perp is still on there hiring sitters. Be careful!

### 2/5 — Great service, truly terrible app

*2021-02-08, version 3.1.2*

Love the ability to book a verified babysitter quickly. The carers I’ve booked have all been lovely, reliable, and experienced.

The app design itself though - my goodness what a mess. It constantly shows that there are notifications for messages or bookings to be viewed, yet there’s nothing there. The whole thing is clunky and difficult to use. Very, very frustrating - but if you can endure the app itself, the service is worthwhile.

### 1/5 — Jacqueline

*2020-05-26, version 3.1.0*

I am really disappointed with the Sittr app. Although they have lifted the rate paid to Sittrs ($25/hour now instead of $23/hour) when it was first released; there is still an influx of low quality jobs. Shifts of 1 or 1.5 hours (at $25/hour?! What is the point?)

Tutoring jobs paid at $25/hour, when the going rate is at least $40/hour +
And no options for extra pay for public holidays. When it should be at least 1.5 X or Double Time pay for a Public Holiday.

Although a mother above in the reviews is commenting the rates for Sittr should be lower as it’s just for ‘extra cash’ All Sittrs using this platform are required to have an up to date Working with children check and First Aid certificate.
This is of course, at the Carer’s expense. And they are not cheap to obtain.

Please add an option for Carers to set their own rate of pay. I have over 7 years experience and refuse to work for less than a checkout chick at Woolworths. It’s insulting. Until you add this option I will not be using your app and encourage my Nanny friends not to use it also.

### 4/5 — Great app

*2020-05-03, version 3.1.0*

this is a great app for parents however there is a glitch which means you can't read the Sittr's full biography/profile. when you press 'read more' it cuts off the text.

### 1/5 — Not good enough

*2020-01-28, version 3.0.17*

Although seemingly a fair concept for both parents and sitters, this company will take a $4/hour cut from the $27/hour pay the families are paying. This leaves the carers with LESS than the current minimum wage of $23/hour (with minimum wage being $24.36/hour).

The rate does not change on public holidays, or if more than one family groups together to use a sitter. I recommend families to use local Facebook pages, or word of mouth instead!

### 1/5 — Babysitter/ Nanny review for Sittr

*2020-01-28, version 3.0.17*

App supports the underpayment of carers by paying them less than Casual Minimum Wage. Carer only takes home $23/hour with no room set their own rate according to their experience and qualifications.
App takes a whopping $4/hour. Parent pays $27/ hour and Carer takes home $23/ hour.
Clear to see who the real winner is here 🤣🤣

### 1/5 — Sexc- Luke 123

*2020-01-27, version 3.0.17*

Whilst I downloaded the Sittr App to pick up extra babysitting work, I refuse to work for less than Australian Minimum Wage. Please raise your rates for Sittrs, the current rate of $23/hour is a joke!

### 1/5 — Underpaying Carers

*2020-01-26, version 3.0.17*

While the app is great for the ease of use, and finding jobs the fact that carers can not set their own rate and can only earn $23 an hour (which is under the minimum casual wage) is unacceptable.

### 2/5 — Low rate for babysitters

*2020-01-25, version 3.0.17*

Overall the app is good, mainly for the parents.

The rate paid for nannies/babysitters is below the Australian minimum wage and there is no variation if it’s a holiday or more than one kid, which it’s not realistic at all for who is looking after the kids.

### 1/5 — Bad app for Babysitters

*2020-01-25, version 3.0.17*

The app has no benefits for nannies or babysitters!
They charge the families a higher rate and the sitters only receive $23/hour which is under the current Australian Casual Minimum Wage which is $24.36/hour.

There is no price difference between public holidays and non public holidays, in other industries they receive 1.5/2x amount and babysitters/nannies deserve that as well!

There set price also doesn’t take in to account what the role entitles, it allows families to share a nanny at the standard hourly rate of $23/hour while the nanny now has double the amount of work and twice as many “bosses” for no compensation. I am sure everyone would agree that if their employer/s expected them to work double the amount of work that they would and should be properly compensated for it!

It would be greatly appreciated if sittr looked in to this better and offered more for the people who keep their app running and made changes to the app to including either the sitter being able to set their own rate or them being able to scale their rate based on jobs they are willing to perform.

### 4/5 — Great app, and easy way to find a sittr

*2019-12-10, version 3.0.16*

Really easy to use, a pleasure to find great baby sitters.

Please can you fix an issue where there is a long bio of a sittr - it says 'read more' and tries to show the rest of the bio but it cuts off several lines so the additional lines can't be read.

### 4/5 — Love this app!

*2019-11-17, version 3.0.16*

The only issue were some technical difficulties around payments, but these were resolved fairly promptly.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Scam app do not use!!! Support non existent!

*2025-06-16, version 3.1.9*

This app is quite the scam, did a couple of bookings. I needed invoices for these bookings, the FAQs say they provide invoices, but there is no way to access them. I’ve messaged support and no one replies at all. I event went as far as searching up the employees on LinkedIn and messaged them, no one replied! This is some sort of scam company with fake employees or something. If you can’t do something as basic as a receipt or invoice, then don’t trust them with the care of your children. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Use Kiddo instead, they’ve been great and support replies the same day.

### 1/5 — Scammers

*2025-05-22, version 3.1.9*

They don't reply to emails or messages and haven't replied to pay me for a job I done. Still unpaid and not replied to 20 days later. Seems like a scam of an app.

### 1/5 — Not working

*2025-02-01, version 3.1.9*

I’ve been using the app for two years already. I haven’t been able to ever receive a payment through the app, so all the bookings had to be cancelled and issued outside of the app. This is tolerable, but today a family changed the booking and the app doesn’t let me to accept nor cancel the new booking. I can’t even send messages to them. I tried deleting the app and installing it over again, but this was a huge mistake. Now it seems like loading for ever and I can’t even log in. Thanks to this I will leave this family standing up.

### 1/5 — I’m totally disappointed

*2024-10-30, version 3.1.9*

I'm a nanny, when I found this application I loved it, but a dad canceled me before the time making me leave in the middle of the morning, after that my payment was never processed, I've been writing for 3 weeks and they have never responded, so far I already have 4 pending payments!
I've sent emails, I've sent messages and they don't even give me an answer, what a disappointment I feel cheated 🥲

### 1/5 — OVERCHARGED

*2024-07-09, version 3.1.6*

While I was very happy with the booking process and my sitter was great, I was charged twice and have emailed and used chat function multiple times without a response. It’s been over three weeks now. Disappointed.

### 1/5 — Great app, but no tech support or troubleshooting

*2024-07-06, version 3.1.9*

Honest this app is great. Very good for babysitters and parents alike to find each other. My biggest gripe however is the lack of tech support. The app asks for background check for carers such as WWC etc. mine recently expired so I obtained a new one and submitted it for review. Nothing happened. I’ve sent off so many messages to the built in support system and have never heard a response. Looking back I haven’t been able to reach tech support for 3 years.

So the app is great if it works. But if you run to to a problem you are far out of luck. I can’t even begin to calculate how many postings I have missed out on because I simply can’t get this issue resolved.

### 1/5 — Amazing babysitters, poor service

*2024-07-03, version 3.1.9*

I have used Sittr a number of times and previously had been a huge advocate, recommending it to other parents for the ease of connecting with babysitters you can trust. However I was charged to my credit card twice the last time I had a sitter, and have not been able to get in touch with anyone to organise a refund. I’ve emailed customer service at least twice and used the chat function in app to prompt contact multiple times and there’s been nothing back. It’s so frustrating. Hoping this review helps me get some traction!

### 1/5 — Booking cancelled no notice

*2022-09-16, version 3.1.7*

Friday evening and the carer cancels the booking with no notice. Won’t be using again

### 1/5 — Login issue

*2022-05-01, version 3.1.7*

Downloaded the app and tried to sign up but struggled to sign up. A error dialog box will pop up!!

### 1/5 — Bug

*2022-02-05, version 3.1.6*

App keeps crashing, please update or fix it

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Sittr

*2024-12-17, version 3.1.9*

Great app for carers to earn extra money but issues with my profile and unable to receive emails of jobs posted, no communication from support

### 5/5 — Liz (Sitter)

*2021-11-17*

I find Sittr a great site to source babysitting. I have been on the site now for over 3 years.
The families I have meet are wonderful people and some have made me a part of their family.

**Developer response:** Thank you Liz!

### 5/5 — Great service

*2021-07-28, version 3.1.4*

Always able to find a highly qualified babysitter at late notice. Like the background checking and that rates are set by the app removing the need to negotiate.

### 5/5 — Reliable, easy to use

*2021-02-09, version 3.1.2*

I’ve used this app a number of times now, and it’s reliable and easy to use. The sitters have all been lovely, and I appreciate that I can post a job last minute and still find someone great. I like the security of payment and messaging.

### 5/5 — Overall good

*2020-02-01, version 3.0.17*

We had a last minute booking, so it was very helpful app for parent. I know to Babysitters it’s under paid, but for us parents we think it’s a bit expensive, and that’s why it hasn’t been a lot of traffic. When I first downloaded this Application, I immediately delete it due to the high price, there are a lot of babysitters willing to accept $20 or less / hour rate. Especially for kids who only require simple help and some night time watching after they sleeping. Maybe Sittr should reduce profit to get more customers. Or the babysitters should expect less than a full time job income, it’s more like a great opportunity whenever you have time to make additional income.

### 5/5 — Sittr.com has a unique platform with a world of families to meet and children

*2019-10-20, version 3.0.13*

I am delighted that I have had the opportunity to assist a many people and it’s a wonderful feeling to know when you are selected in a melting pot of kind carers who wish to be part of children’s lives and be a carer each time is like a resplendent array of celestial stars.

### 5/5 — Use of Sittr

*2019-10-11, version 3.0.13*

I’ve been using this app for quite a few months now.
Initially I found the opportunities few and far between.
Since I’ve been accepted for jobs, and had a few more reviews done, the job opportunities just keep rolling in 👍💜😁
It would be nice if the sitters received a more wage appropriate amount.
Thank you Sittr for making this fun experience easy.

### 5/5 — I am in love with this app!

*2019-09-13, version 3.0.12*

Getting a babysitter has never been made so easy! We have used this app several times and had the best babysitters ever! They have lots of experience and are professional. We are two working parents and recently ran out of sick leave to look after our daughter. We found a wonderful Carer at very short notice to help us look after our daughter at home. 10/10 recommend this app.

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2019-04-20, version 3.0.9*

First time user & it’s a winner so far. Look forward to writing great reviews against the sitters we encounter.

### 5/5 — Just discovered

*2019-03-09, version 3.0.9*

Great for carers and parents alike. I’m impressed and glad to have found this platform! Thanks Sittr!
