Six Degrees of Hollywood is a game based on the "six degrees of separation" concept (made famous by Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon), which posits that any two people on Earth are six or fewer acquaintance links apart. Here you are challenged to find the shortest path between any two actors through their work in film. Your goal is to try to connect any such actor to another as quickly as possible and in as few connections as possible. This movie trivia game is extremely challenging. Stars of erotic thrillers and soft core movies should not be on here for one. ### 4/5 — Good *2021-10-18* Game is good; however still very difficult even on the easiest settings…doesn’t include TV series(only movie) ### 3/5 — Not working *2021-03-09, version 1.2* It loads but not all the movies load on the screen, Uninstalled it a few times and reinstalled but still doesn’t work ### 3/5 — Not great *2021-02-24* Various degrees of “difficulty”. Need to have it regionalized. Some of these actors never have shared movies. The app seems to have directors on here with no acting credits therefore impossible to connect to actors. ### 3/5 — Foreign actors make it extremely difficult *2020-05-05* I enjoy this game when playing verbally with friends so I downloaded the app. I enjoy a challenge, but when I have it set to the easiest mode and I have to click through half a dozen Bollywood-only stars that I’ve never heard of, it becomes annoying. Also, a small inconsistency is that the picture used on the landing page before you start a challenge is usually not the same as the same actor’s picture when you finally reach them in the challenge and need to choose them to finish. I’d happily pay for a premium version if I could choose a “domestic” setting or something ### 5/5 — Great *2019-09-06* Over the years I’ve tried to find a game like this and it’s finally here. I can now use all my (not so) useless information on actors and what they’ve been in lmao ### 3/5 — Fun game but not enough actors *2018-05-12* Like most people, I have to play on easy mode otherwise actors get more and more obscure-and even then there are actors I’ve never heard of. Easy mode is fun for a while until you see the same actors over and over again. It’s run its course now but I’ll redownload in a while and hope they’ll add more. **Developer response:** The app includes the entire database of actors, if you place the difficulty slider somewhere between the easiest and hardest, you should see more actors. However obscurity goes up quickly, so I’d recommend placing it about a quarter along the slider from the easiest point to get a decent balance. Play around with the slider position to find your optimal point. Since it’s randomized it’s not always easy to guarantee providing actors you know as people’s knowledge varies. I hope this helps. We changed how we count steps. Here is the gist of it: We’ve come to the conclusion that despite each tap, whether on a movie or actor, makes sense to count as a step (1 tap = 1 step), the concept of degrees of separation refers to a single degree between each person. Same with the original Six Degrees of Kevin bacon game, where each person was counted as one step. So we are now counting the movie between actors as just a bridge and each person is a step/degree. This also prevents the oddity that scores could only be even numbers. Your history will be retroactively updated to reflect this. Another small change: I've updated how game history is saved to take far less space.
