## What is Six Things, Priority Tasks?

STOP DROWNING IN YOUR TO-DO LIST

You don't have a productivity problem. You have a clarity problem. Too many tasks, too many apps, too many choices — your brain freezes before you even start.

Sixthings fixes this with one constraint: 6 priorities a day. No more.

When you can only pick 6, you're forced to decide what actually matters. That decision — repeated daily — changes everything.

BUILT FOR OVERWHELMED BRAINS

If you've tried every planner, every system, every app — and still feel behind — Sixthings is different. It doesn't give you more tools. It takes them away.

- Only 6 tasks. Ever. The limit is the point.
- Priority #1 stays locked at the top. Do it first.
- Evening planning: choose tomorrow's 6 tonight. Wake up clear.
- Incomplete tasks roll over automatically — no guilt, no lost work.

MEET IVY — YOUR PATTERN MIRROR

After a few days, Ivy starts showing you what you actually do vs. what you say matters.

"You've put 'exercise' on your list 12 times. You've completed it once. It's always #5 or #6. What's really going on?"

Ivy isn't a chatbot. Ivy is a mirror. It shows you the gap between your intentions and your actions — the gap most people never see.

WHY THIS WORKS FOR ADHD & OVERWHELM

→ Decision paralysis? You only get 6 slots. Choosing is fast.
→ Task initiation? #1 is highlighted. Start there. Just that one.
→ Losing track? Patterns show you exactly where your energy goes.
→ Guilt spirals? Rollover is automatic. Tomorrow is a fresh start.

CORE FEATURES

• 6-task daily limit — the constraint IS the product
• Drag-to-reorder priorities
• Streak tracking (consecutive days completing #1)
• Ivy tab — your patterns, insights, and honest reflections
• Weekly report with AI-powered analysis

Sixthings won't do the work for you. But it will help you see yourself clearly enough to stop spinning and start choosing.

### 5/5 — Simplicity is best

*2019-09-05*

Loving the simple use of this app so far. Hopefully will have an update that allows background Colour or image changes yay

### 5/5 — Not good at the moment.

*2019-03-29*

This was a great app, but now it crashes every time I try to open it. It makes it hard to do my job without my list.
Update: Deleting the app worked, I did not lose my data. I appreciate the developer reaching out to me!

**Developer response:** Hey Kota!
Thank you so much for the review and notifying me of this issue. I have made a fix for this, but in the mean time, please remove the app and re-install it. I know, that is not the ideal solution, but that will get you going until I release a fix for it. Please be sure to contact me directly through the app at so@simple.li so I can immediately attend to any issues you may have.

If you're concerned about losing your previous data by deleting/re-installing the app, let me know and I will help retrieve them for you.

Cheers!

### 5/5 — Love it! Best focused todo app

*2017-09-12*

I've downloaded lots of to do apps but they are all too complicated. I shouldn't have 10 lists of 20 items. Just give me what's important, which is what sixthings does!

### 5/5 — Wonderful App!!

*2017-06-14*

Helps me with my day to day life!! Thank you 6 things!!

### 5/5 — Finally!

*2017-04-25*

This is what I've been looking for. Yay! And I love the sense of humor inherent in the app. Thanks!

### 5/5 — At last, an app that really helps!

*2017-04-22*

I came across this app when I was looking to get something to help me plan my daily activities. I decided to give it a shot because I'm terribly undisciplined when it comes to organizing my day. I'm happy to say that it really helps and forces me to stick to getting chores done in a sensible way - one at a time! Sometimes I fall short but I'm making great progress. Thanks +++ to the developer. Great success!!

## Frequently asked questions about Six Things, Priority Tasks

### What is the Ivy Lee Method used in Six Things?

The Ivy Lee Method, taught in 1918, involves writing down six tasks for the next day, prioritizing them, and then working on them in order of importance. Six Things helps you implement this by limiting you to six tasks and encouraging you to tackle your top priority first.

### How does Six Things help build momentum?

Six Things uses a 'momentum tap mechanic' where you tap to build progress on each task, making completion feel rewarding. It also tracks your streak for completing Priority One, encouraging consistency and a sense of accomplishment.

### Does Six Things have ads?

No, Six Things is completely ad-free. The app explicitly states 'no ads, ever' and emphasizes a privacy-first approach with no tracking or analytics.

### Can I sync my tasks across devices with Six Things?

Yes, Six Things offers optional iCloud sync, allowing you to access and manage your tasks across all your Apple devices, including iPhone and iPad. This ensures your priorities are always up-to-date wherever you are.

### What makes Six Things different from other to-do list apps?

Unlike apps that allow infinite tasks, Six Things enforces a strict 6-task limit to prevent overwhelm and encourage ruthless prioritization. This constraint is designed to boost focus and completion rates, helping users feel accomplished rather than stressed.

### How does the evening planning ritual work in Six Things?

The app features an evening planning ritual that automatically activates at 6 PM. This encourages you to plan your tasks for the next day tonight, so you wake up with clarity and purpose, ready to tackle your priorities.

### Is Six Things suitable for all ages?

Six Things has an age rating of 4+, making it suitable for a wide range of users. Its simple interface and focus on task completion are beneficial for students and professionals alike.

### 2.0.2 — 2020-03-06

Hey y'all! so I've been improving the app gradually, and plan to release a new version every 2-3 weeks.

If there are any features you'd like to see, or functionality that isn't clear to you, please let me know!
I'd also love to hear how the app is helping you, or if it isn't :( , but still want to hear back from my dear users!

So what is new in this version you ask?

- A few little behind the scenes upgrades to make things more fluid and secure.
- Cleaned up the UI/UX a bit, to just "feel more good"
- When your in the main screen and put the app to the background, and returning to the app later, your state is restored (you won't need to see the splash screen again)

I'm a solo developer, so as I said, I'd love to get your feedback! Please feel free to contact me through the app and let me know what you think, if the app is helping you, and even just to say hi ;)

Enjoy!

And remember: Keep it Simple!
