## What is SJ Whales?

SJ Whales is a live map of whale-watching activity around San Juan Island. It tracks the commercial whale-watching fleet via public AIS broadcasts and flags when boats cluster at low speed. Zone based notifications can be enabled.

Acoustic detections are new: listener reports and AI-classified humpback and orca calls from the Orcasound hydrophone network now appear alongside boat-cluster sightings, with a Listen button to play back the audio that triggered each one. Single-boat tracking, per-zone push notifications, and an overnight-pause indicator.
