This route was challenging but really scenic with 40KM of trails to enjoy. I was really impressed by the tracking accuracy of the Skamper App, allowing to navigate the route with no problems. It really reassured me when I got to points in the route were it was wasn’t clear which way to go. One of the nicest aspects of taking on this route was meeting other runners taking on the same challenge! The Skamper App does a great job of encouraging you to get out and take on a new challenge! ### 5/5 — What a brilliant app?!? *2024-06-24, version 2.9.0* The Skamper app is easy to use and accessible with a variety of routes available across Britain. I really enjoy the simplicity of the app and will be sure to recommend it to others. It’s also really fun to be able to compete with friends & family through the grading system - not matter their age or gender! Great for finding routes when away for a weekend or for just monitoring your progress on a local route. It’s easy to find a route; the details show you how close you are to a route and gives details of what to expect (distance/how hilly/terrain) and off you go. And once you’ve done it once, you can try it again and compare. Having a target time for each course is useful for me as I’m often trying to squeeze a run in and this helps me to see if it’ll fit my gap. The targets are pretty accurate too. I’m looking forward to seeing if the race predictor is right too! I also like the grading. I find it motivating especially when trying a new route as I can still gauge how well I’ve done. The checkpoints work like this for me too. I can tell myself to push on till I hear the next point bing. There are so many routes local to me now. Really enjoying trying them out - even if I’m not top of the leaderboard! Easy to use app. Great alternative to Strava too. Deffo recommend. It continually surprises me on showing new routes and linking old routes with new in amazing combinations that I had not thought of. Since using Skamper I’ve had access to numerous courses that track my times and generate a grading based on my age and gender. The checkpoints keep you motivated and the variety of courses near me are incredible, I live in Bromley and have 10 routes within 3k of my front door! Won’t always stop the run. Most annoying thing is you can only start the run at the start, not at the nearest point to you. This makes it virtually useless compared to other apps and not very green as will encourage people to drive to the start. Done many of the routes on there ever since and it’s always being updated with new ones. I recently went to Scotland and wanted some good running routes, Skamper had loads of choice and helped me decide what the terrain/elevation etc was going to be like. Fab app! ### 5/5 — Fantastic Running App *2024-07-27, version 2.11.3* What a great app Skamper is! There are features this running app has that I’ve just not seen in what else is available. Picking out two of the countless features that make Skamper a dream to use: Firstly, the bespoke grading algorithm makes for friendly competition between young and old, after completing one of the curated routes all over the country (which are a dream to run). Secondly, the audio prompts you get when en route, makes navigation a breeze, as they are concise, use obvious landmarks and are heard with plenty of time before the junction.
