Skates is a technical score calculator for figure skating. Whether you’re a skater, coach, Technical Specialist, or parent, Skates gives you the tools to score programs accurately, compare performances, and dive deeper into program analysis.

Why? Well, most of the app is free to use. Your subscription allows me to ensure that the app stays up to date, with all the relevant rules, permitted elements and abbreviations provided by the ISU.

Skates offers 3 different options of subscription -

 • Quarterly - 3 Months
 • Annually - 12 Months

All of the subscription options come with a 2 week free trial, for you to see if this app is right for you! Subscriptions can be shared amongst family members associated with your Apple Store account, as well as sync across your own devices.

Subscription Information:
• Payment will be charged to iTunes Account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period.
• An account will be charged for renewal within 24-hours prior to the end of the current period, and identify the cost of the renewal.
• Subscriptions may be managed by the user and auto-renewal may be turned off by going to the user's Account Settings after purchase.
• Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when the user purchases a subscription to that publication, where applicable.

No directions on how to set up an athlete and turning off automatically when trying to select program type.  Too bad, it looks like it could be a very useful tool for coaching!

Redesigned Home Screen, updated Scales of Values for Ice Dance, and updated requirements for multiple disciplines.

Improvements:
- Home screen was updated to try and suit the different needs of you. If you are a coach, you may need to see a lot of athletes, if you are a skater, you may only want to see your own information. 
- Scale of Values have been updated following the publication by the ISU.
- Found a couple of problems with the Pairs requirements, which have now been fixed.
- Key Points have been added to the Element search for the required elements for 2026/27
- Pattern completion percentage is now stored when scoring a novice dance program.

### 2.10.0 — 2026-05-18

Overview:
This update introduces the 2026/27 season. New elements for Singles and Pairs have been added. Proposed Dance rules have been updated. Program Collections have been updated.

Please note - The rules haven't been officially announced by the ISU yet. Some values maybe incorrect for some elements. Program requirements may also change. But I wanted to allow people to start preparing for the upcoming season.

Improvements:
- Premium Subscribers can now share athletes, and collaborate with others.
- Golden Waltz & Westminster Waltz have information about their respective Key Points.
- Program Collections are now rule based.
- Program Comparison has been brought to iOS and iPadOS.

Overview
This update brings some UI improvements, and lays the foundations for future features, as well as other fixes.

Improvements
- Added a new set of charts that can track the average grade of execution for each element over time.
- Fixes a bug causing Step Sequences to be thrown out of a Senior Long Program.
- Fixes a bug causing Choreographic elements to be marked as illegal in a Senior Free Dance.

Liquid Glass adaptions, added collections and introduced bonus points for advanced novice singles. 

Improvements
- Added better filters for searching programs within an athlete.
- Added Collections. You can now create custom collections of programs.
- More analytics are provided.
- Singles programs for Advanced Novice will identify elements that meet the requirements for bonus points and automatically apply it.
- If you want to turn off the validator, the option is now available in Settings.
