## What is Skeindfrid?

Dear friend,

You asked what I have been playing. Skeindfrid — six stations on one landscape rail, ground to 32 km, each handing you something different.

At GND sits SONDE TRAIN. Numbered tags hang on a payload line, two of every number. Tap a tag, then a clamp to thread it on. The pair marked 3 must sit exactly three clamps apart, the pair marked 5 exactly five. Sixty-eight runs, three pairs on six clamps up to sixteen on thirty-two.

At 4 KM, BALLAST YARD. Hoppers of grain in a gondola grid. Tap one to drop a grain in; any hopper holding four or more topples, shedding one to each neighbour, and it cascades. Match the ordered trim within your allowance. Seventy-two runs widen the yard from three by three to six by five.

At 10 and 16 KM, the benches. The Lift Bench turns balloon mass, payload, gas volume and burst diameter into free lift, ascent rate and burst height. The Sounding Desk turns temperature, dew point and one upper reading into lapse rate and condensation level.
