Skerry turns England's live water data into a plain-language answer to one question: what is the water doing at my spot, right now? Pick a place on the coast, an estuary or a river and Skerry gives you a single readable sentence — not a wall of figures. Underneath it, the numbers are all still there if you want them. WHAT SKERRY READS • Flood risk — live Environment Agency flood alerts and warnings for your spot, in words that say what the level actually means. • Water and sea level — the observed reading from the nearest gauge, with its datum and how long ago it was measured. • Conditions — wind, temperature and UV from Apple Weather, with a day rail showing when the good window is. • Sea state — waves and swell where you're near the coast. • Storm overflows — whether a sewage overflow near you is discharging, or has discharged in the last 48 hours. • Bathing water — the nearest designated beach's annual classification and today's pollution risk forecast. If a reading isn't available for your spot, Skerry says so. It never invents a number. SAVED SPOTS Save up to three places you care about. Each one syncs across your devices with iCloud, and shows up on a map with a pin coloured by what's happening there — so you can see at a glance which of your spots needs attention. ALERTS The Alerts tab shows everything active across all your saved spots, loudest first. You can also have Skerry check one chosen spot in the background and notify you when the Environment Agency issues or escalates a flood warning there. SIRI AND SHORTCUTS Ask Siri for the flood status at a saved spot, or build it into a Shortcut. Your spots are searchable from Spotlight. COVERAGE Skerry's flood, river level, sea level and bathing water data comes from the Environment Agency, which covers ENGLAND only. Storm overflow monitoring covers the nine English water companies. Wales and Scotland are not covered yet. Weather and sea state work anywhere. Tide times and tidal predictions are not part of this release. HONEST BY DESIGN Every reading is stamped with where it came from and when it was measured. Stale data is flagged as stale. A gauge that's down is shown as down, not quietly skipped. Skerry is a guide, not navigation or safety-of-life equipment. Conditions can change fast. Always obey official signage and warnings, and never rely on Skerry where your safety depends on it.
