### 1/5 — Waste of money

*2025-02-04*

Nothing appears

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback. If you would like us to help you to use the app please email the address listed on the help screen and we can investigate the problem you are experiencing.

### 1/5 — Grid uneven

*2023-06-04*

The grid is only even if divided into 4 - am I missing something here?
And ? Option invisible so I’ve no idea how to alter.
Currently a waste of money

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback, and sorry you’re having problems. The app offers a choice of square or proportional grid (can be chosen from a button in the bottom right). How they fit the image depends on its aspect ratio. Button labels can be seen by holding the ‘?’ at the bottom. Please email for more help and we’ll be happy to assist.

### 1/5 — Interface is not intuitive

*2020-05-22*

Cropping tool is too zoomed in, won’t work for my picture. Definitely not worth paying for, will be getting my money back for this terrible app.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback. The cropping tool should work with all pictures. If you would like us to try and help you, please send an email to the support address in the app or via the contact form on the web site.

### 1/5 — Very disappointing

*2019-08-13*

The grid is heavy and can’t be lightened. The picture with grid cannot be saved or exported.
Until the functionality of this app is updated I’ll be looking elsewhere.

**Developer response:** Hi, thank you for your feedback. You can now change the weight and the colour of the grid, and also export the image in the original resolution with the grid of your choice. We’ve also included a guide for the user - hold down the ? button in the toolbar to see it.

### 1/5 — Cumbersome

*2014-04-26*

Very cumbersome to work with and didn't do what I wanted. No facility to rotate my image. No tutorial. Thought it would be a simple enough task to print a 3 x 3 Grid on my choice of image, but alas no, I'm still looking for an appropriate app. Won't be using this again, unfortunately a waste of money.

### 1/5 — great.. but......

*2013-06-24*

how to save.. grid image...?
just preview????

### 1/5 — Rubbish

*2013-04-10*

This app is a waste of both time and money because it doesn't give you a proper grid ! 😟😟💩

### 1/5 — Requesting refund!!!!

*2012-11-22*

I do not like this app. I'm pretty irritated. When you grid something out to draw it on canvas...etc... You want the grid square so that it will match the grid on what will be your final product. This app doesn't give you squares... Depending on how you resize your pic you will end up with anything from a vertical rectangle to a square to a horizontal version of a rectangle. It's very irritating. There are only 3 buttons so I don't believe I can fix it on my end. Please fix this ASAP or refund me! I'd rather you just fix it though!

### 2/5 — Does not do what the developer shows

*2019-09-28*

I just purchased this and found that I cannot contact developer. Link is broken. Plus it shows multiple line grid and I can only get a two or three line grid. What the heck? Please explain or refund my purchase. !!

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback - we’ve now included a guide, which contains help with the app, and a contact email address. Press the ? button in the toolbar to see it.

### 3/5 — Brian

*2016-08-25*

Downloaded this app to IPad. Can access photo library but camera does not function. Cannot control orientation of photo from library. Not impressed or perhaps it is me?

## Most praised reviews (9 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Indian maiden

*2024-11-27*

Great app!!! Love it!!!

**Developer response:** Thank you so much! Very happy you’re enjoying our app 🙏

### 5/5 — Good for children

*2020-05-01*

My children use it well! It helps me to keep them busy 👍🏻

**Developer response:** Many thanks for your review. So happy to hear that children are having fun with Sketch Grid! 😍

### 5/5 — Works wonders.

*2018-01-25*

I’m a professional watercolor artist and use the grid as an easy guide for drawing my underpaintings. Love that it gives the user an aspect ratio so the grid is easily replicated on paper. Can be glitchy sometimes, but nothing an app reset hasn’t ever fixed. This app is a must for my workflow.

**Developer response:** Very happy to hear this! Many thanks for your review :)

### 5/5 — Trick to using this that some don't know

*2014-09-10*

I've noticed that some people reviewing grid drawing apps don't realize that an iPad or iPhone can take a screenshot of the current screen... with your grid over your image! Then you just print it out and you're good to go. This is very much worth the money.

### 5/5 — Great tool for drawing!

*2012-11-15*

This is a bargain. Thanks!

### 5/5 — Simple and functional

*2012-11-14*

It does what it says. A simple and very useful tool for the artist.

### 4/5 — New version much better

*2018-02-21*

Nice simple interface, easy to pan and crop picture. It could be improved by allowing the grid to be positioned as an overlay rather than being fixed in place, but it’s not bad after the recent updates.

**Developer response:** Thanks a lot for your review! Also thanks for the cool idea - a non-fixed grid sounds very useful - definitely considering this...

### 4/5 — Excellent; grid automatically splits the canvas vertically and horizontally

*2013-01-19*

This is the perfect grid system for artists. Defining the area over which the grid will be imposed is easily done by a drag button. Pinching the grid increases the number of demarcations. Except for the 3x3 grid, the app applies a centerline grid vertically and horizontally. It's great, but see below.

Update: the shape of the picture to grid can be custom sized to any proportion of width to height. However, there is no indication of what the ratio of width to height is in the grid window that is being defined, making it a little difficult to match the cropped picture in the device with the canvas you are using. It would be great if there is a 1.0 number shown on, say, the height axis, and the app shows what the ratio on the width (e.g., 1.3,) and this changes as the grid window is adjusted. Once the shapes of the grid window and the canvas are matched, the grids not being perfectly square would be less of an issue.

### 3/5 — It's okay

*2014-04-30*

It's okay, but two major issues for me. First, it's difficult to select the entire image for your grid. I composed it already, so that's problematic. Second, it doesn't match the rotation of my image in the photo app.
