When it doesn’t, it’s always in front of a client. Nothing like the impression I make showing a client a much-anticipated design only to have it show a black screen, only part of a screen, and/or a blurry or distorted screen. Or Sketch and Mirror simply can’t find each other. “Excuse me while I quit and restart everything” is a bad way to start a presentation. But when it works it’s great! I like that it can track my current view so i can always (when it works) preview elements on the target device. ### 1/5 — Don’t even bother *2021-03-23, version 3.3.1* So buggy. Has been for years. It’s more frustrating than it is useful. If you’re reading this and haven’t switched to Figma yet, just do so. Depending on the WiFi, sketch mirror does not work. I also use Figma and it always works. Please fix this. Painful to use. It’s essentially faster to export to InVision and preview there. I don’t know why, but screens don’t just fit you have to set their size using size presets in Sketch... not too difficult but it’s an example of an unnecessary step added. There are many times I need to see my designs on a device. Usefulness, marginal. Unless your artboards are sized exactly to your device, then you get a shrunken artboard that fits in the screen. The scale should be based on the screen width and then overflow scrolls. This wouldn’t be so bad if there was pinch-zooming, but there’s no way to zoom. Sketch team, spend your time to improve experiences of what you have and what your customers already use! Only after chase Figma or other competitors! There is a whole bunch of small experience things needs to be polished in Sketch and Sketch Mirror before any other new functionality you should even think off... This race you are in with Figma leads nowhere. The Sketch mirror has extremely long load time when it does work. Currently on Sketch 84 (Mar 2022) this app does not work over wifi or USB. Honestly ditch Sketch for Figma entirely if your workflow allows you to do so. ### 1/5 — No longer works *2021-08-20, version 3.3.1* This was a great micro-product, I’m guessing… EXTREMELY easy to maintain, but no… discontinued. In terms of making sure element sizes are ideal, mapping basic app functions, etc… Sketch mirror is perfect. Opened up the app, clicked the orange notification in the top right of Sketch, and there it was. Downloaded it and have been using the app without many issues. Every once and while it “Glitches” because I update the design on my computer and it updates itself. That is the only thing I could think of complaining about, but really this is expected and better then always manually refreshing every time you update your design. It doesn’t even require a cord. Great live previews of your apps/art boards. Pretty cool being able to see the prototype on your phone after creating all the pathways on your computer. Over all sketch has been easy to use, simple to figure out, took me less than a week to create my now final product mirrored perfectly on my phone. Thanks Bohemian Coding!!!
