We now have automatic embedding systems that prevent many of the issues you were experiencing back then. When you’re designing an E-Mail oder mobile Website you constantly check if the typo is right and make small adjustments. The best way is just connect the cable to your phone and check instantly. This feature is now gone. This App is now useless to me if it does not work for local files as well.

I haven’t been able to run a single prototype as it crashes 100% of the time. This is really my only use for the mobile app.

Do not force us to sign in, use workspaces or any other dark UX patterns – that in reality exist to drive subscriptions. I need to very quickly view the active artboard on my mobile device. Not this bloatware - fix the mirror app so we can quickly design and view pages on mobile devices. You are losing to Figma and these hostile tactics are certainly not helping your cause.

Add the ability to clear the cache. If I update the project, it starts re-downloading and the application is already running 5 GB.

When will the new app start working again with the Mac app through local Wi-Fi, like the old Mirror app? I use Sketch more “offline” and not much in the cloud.

As you are pointing out, this is not possible with our new App (just documents stored in your Workspace can be mirrored, so unfortunately, there’s no “offline mode”). I keep using the old mirror app because the “mirror” icon just doesn’t show in my app ever… same Wi-Fi, Bluetooth on, handoff on… pls fix!

Crashes after loading a large 100mb prototype.

Suggestion 
Sketch team please invest in product testing and quality assurance. I would rather wait for stable release then see an app that is crashing.

**Developer response:** Hey there! Thank you for your feedback. You can open local documents via the Files app on your device, or from another app, like Google Drive or Dropbox. In the Files app, you can also press on the thumbnail of your Sketch document to preview it. We hope this helps, but please let us know if you need any further support!

The new mirror is useless on iPad as this new app no longer supports it and only shows a small iPhone app in the middle of the screen

Unlike previous version, the new version uses their cloud system which means things aren’t guaranteed to look the same as on desktop. Fonts and icons don’t load on the app making it hard to test app designs. Revert to screenshots in this case. Not a good app for the money I have to spend every 12 months. Unfortunately there’s little competition.

Wet very often instead of design I see just white screen, but thumbnail shows it. Connection to Mac is ok. Also, asks for subscription for a very non intuitive UI… I just have no other options, but I wish I can use another app. Really bad.

After a couple of days now another problem- it’s not updating specifically one artboard. Just whatever I change in it - not updated in this app.

And you asking money for this?! 
You should really consider make a free version workspace, with limit of 1 file/project.

Otherwise your company will end, because we have Figma!

As the old Sketch Mirror app is being phased out, the plug & play local mirroring via WiFi or USB is not carried over (at least it's not when working without an account). We don't work with Sketch Cloud at my workplace, but with Abstract and I won't be allowed to sync any files to the Sketch cloud. Please just put the local mirroring back into the new app.

Our iPhone app is all about mobility — being able to see and share your designs anywhere, and while you're on the go! You won’t be able to view or mirror documents you’ve saved locally to your Mac, but if you want to use the iPhone app to view a document or prototype that’s not quite ready to share with your Workspace, you can simply save it to My Drafts.

This app simply doesn’t load documents with multiple pages.

When a custom font is included, it simply won’t be displayed on the app. 

Just include the classic mirroring as mode.

The mirroring of local documents was previously possible. With this one it is not working.

**Developer response:** Hello there! We rely on Workspace documents to mirror them, so you must first upload the content you need to mirror to your Workspace. After that, you will only have to sign in to the App with your credentials, which will appear there to be viewed. Recently switched over from Adobe XD because of their lack of focus on the software and am perplexed why this app doesn’t actually do what it says. Was really excited to use Sketch but not being able to mirror a design directly on the app via wifi or USB-C is such a missed opportunity. The fact that Adobe does this without forcing the cloud functionality shows how bad of a decision to not include this is. 

Please allow us to mirror local documents in real time without relying on your cloud to make changes that sometimes take minutes. It would genuinely make a world of difference.

Very Slow, Bugs here and there, Adding A new art board on OSX requires to restart the app. Artboard Sync mode with OSX selection has no way to use as prototype for selected screen, instead you have to go out and look for the same screen to start a prototype.

The app is full of issues. Sketch team you have to do much better if you want to survive.

The star reviews here speak volumes. Does your team not do user research and actually find out what Sketch users want? I use Sketch because I like saving files locally that’s the whole point of sticking by you. I don’t need or want the cloud service, so why have you just severed ties with mirroring local documents completely? I’d rather the crappy old app if it lets me test designs locally. This update is thoughtless. Sorry.

Literally downloading an entire sketch file locally of 1GB every single time I need to view it. Extremely annoying and misleading that they call it Sketch Cloud. It needs to be immediately accessible like Figma etc. love the max app but the iPhone app is unusable.

The true power of sketch was letting us designers mirror our art boards to our mobile screens over wired connections. It was fast. It was slick. It look exactly how anyone would expect. But the new sketch view app uses internet to load artboard as canvas. The long artboards don’t even render properly and load poorly. We just don’t feel intuitive with the way sketch is doing things these days. 

Sketch team, we understand you’ve decided to go the SaaS route but atleast let us users mirror local documents over cable. It’s like you went back in time. I’m just not able to see this as an improvement.

My designs are beautifully displayed in iPad, in full canvas view! Plus you can see real time changes by selecting the same page in the iPad and your Mac, which is super nice. I can also open and view local files that are not in my workspace by sending them to my iPad via Airdrop!

And macOS handoff is quite nice too!

A really good improvement from the previous Mirror app. Wish it had the offline capabilities too but the new features, ability to share documents and all right from the iPhone is really a welcome feature!

The app is a great improvement to what used to be Sketch Mirror. It makes it super easy to browse and preview documents my team is working on. 👌🏼 I am part of different workspaces and had no issues logging in with SSO and with my email. Can’t wait to see how Sketch continue to build on this!!

A huge impovement over Sketch Mirror. I can view my documents from my workspace directly on my phone, everything sharp and crisp when zoomed. Being able to play prototypes full screen on my iPhone is amazing as well and such a help for my work. Great work on this huge update!
