The only small thing is I need to create a customized test on the website first, then I can access it in the app. I can’t create it first in the app. It’s very small though. I love this app! ### 3/5 — Better Zoom in Landscape mode please! *2025-06-11* Overall, the app is well laid out, however, the most important things is watching the videos, which don’t have the largest text size when there’s greater detail. I should be able to zoom in and scroll around the videos, which I see now is an option in portrait mode, but not landscape mode.I was able to do this when I previously used “3rd party viewing methods,” so the feature would be greatly appreciated in the app itself! ### 4/5 — Almost perfect *2025-01-09, version 1.8.3* Sketchy on the go sounds like heaven. Almost any time I try to stream through the app, it randomly stops playing without explanation, and there’s no way to fix it except to use the browser version. Great way to remember things when you’re literally tasked with remembering everything (and my favorite part is that it doesn’t even feel like studying). However, the app has some software/technical issues. I think it’s because the app is still a relatively new way to use Sketchy. For example, lately, when I try to make the videos full screen and turn my phone horizontally so it fills the entire display, the app crashes. It completely closes out and brings me to my Home Screen of my iPhone. BUT, I have found sketchy so useful, and it’s been great to be able to watch the videos wherever I am at. Im sure these bugs will be fixed as the app undergoes updates and improvements. ### 3/5 — Sketchy Great, App Bad *2024-09-08, version 1.3.0* I love sketchy. I use it in my laptop all the time. Many of the videos don’t work on the app and I have to frequently switch to my laptop in order to watch them which is very annoying. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Video stops in landscape orientation *2026-06-09, version 1.62.2* Every time I full screen the video and turn my phone sideways into landscape orientation the video stops playing and closes. Also on the mobile app, you can’t give feedback on videos. You click thumbs down and the keyboard covers the “submit feedback” button with no way of clicking it. Dog poo app ### 1/5 — Closed Captioning Settings DO NOT save *2025-07-28, version 1.8.3* The closed captioning settings do not save. I have to adjust them every time. This is not very accessibility friendly. I also see that it doesn’t matter what my CC settings are for my device. ### 1/5 — Horrible customer service *2025-01-09, version 1.8.3* I paid for the blueprint X Sketchy bundle for Black Friday in November. It is now January, and I am still not calling, but emailing back and forth with the customer service help. They have no call services. I’m sure sketchy is a great app but this has by far been the worst customer service experience of my life. That’s 3 months of study time I could have used sketchy yet it was inactivated, emailing with them constantly while they take days on end to respond each time, and they haven’t even activated my account. It’s utter incompetence and frankly I’m being nice. ### 1/5 — Could not even sign up for an account *2024-12-12, version 1.7.1* Unfortunately, I could not even finish the registration process because of the UI not working properly. ### 1/5 — Unusable after update *2024-09-28, version 1.4.0* I’ve been using this app on my iPad and it was amazing before the update. However, after the update it’s become unusable. It’s very laggy. The video controls don’t work, so you can’t even pause or rewind the video. Hopefully they either revert back to the previous version or release another update. CRashes. *2024-09-04* Just use the website. this app doesn’t work. ### 1/5 — New layout is too cumbersome *2024-08-04, version 1.1.1* It takes me 4 or 5 clicks to get me to symbol review in theater mode. Plus, the format makes the pictures and, thus, symbols really tiny. So you can barely even make it out when the number is over it. I suppose there is a way to view the symbol in larger view, but one, you have to look for it. And two, it doesn’t really allow you take in the whole view, and you have to swipe for your symbol. Bottom line: They’ve taken a lot of convenience out of what used to be a great learning tool. This all takes way too long when you are just trying to do a rapid a review. ### 2/5 — Technical Errorr & Material Disorganization *2024-08-30* Technical error is that the videos close by themselves on iOS. As for material disorganization… on the bright side 80% of their videos have a story that makes sense, and the info is tied together perfectly. The marterial disorganization issue applies to about 20% of videos… too much of mess for me to explain. The app offers everything the website does, including progress tracking, bookmarks, a night mode, and a beautifully designed artistic interface. TBH, I didn’t or can’t remembering experiencing technical issues with the app(old+ new)other than the captions/subtitles option stop working when you play videos in full screen. Sketchy as a whole is incredibly valuable for studying, especially for microbiology, pharmacology, and pathology. The sketches are high-yield, funny, and serve as amazing memory aids that make learning enjoyable. While it might seem a bit expensive, it’s worth the investment for the level of quality and the impact it has on retention and understanding. Highly recommend it! Also is amazing that you can watch sketchy now wherever you are! I’m also planning on using the app for rotations to prepare myself before entering a patient room or before getting pimped lol. Sketchy’s made a bunch of new improvements and keep continuing to upgrade, so I’m lucky they made the app that also reflects these changes. I personally haven’t experienced any bugs so hopefully it stays that way. Honestly don’t know what I’d do without sketchy.
