I’ve reached out to the developer numerous times with no guidance assistance or outlook on a fix. It is incredibly frustrating for a ski tracking app to release an update that completely breaks the core functionality, and the lack of communication makes me think the product has been abandoned or the bricked the Apple Watch forcing you to a subscription model. I paid for this app, used it faithfully every season, and recommended it to fellow skiers and snowboarders without hesitation. It was simple, reliable, and did exactly what it promised. That version of Ski Tracks is gone. New ownership has rolled out a $50/year subscription model, and the experience now is nothing short of a shakedown. Open the app and you're immediately greeted with subscription prompts. Try to access stats you've used for years — total vertical, speed breakdowns, run counts — and you hit a wall: "This is a Premium Feature." What used to be the core value of the app is now locked behind an annual fee that rivals full-featured fitness platforms with far broader capabilities. Here's what's most frustrating: I'm not opposed to paying to support an app I use regularly. If new ownership came in and said, "We're charging a modest annual fee to maintain and improve the app," I'd consider it. But $50 per year for features I already paid for? That's not a business model — that's a betrayal of your existing user base. There is zero acknowledgment of legacy users who supported this app for years. No grandfather pricing. No discount. No goodwill. Just an aggressive, unapologetic paywall where a clean tracking experience used to be. Thanks, new ownership. You've successfully turned a five-star app into a one-star experience.
