No it doesn’t, they let you win a couple games to get you to deposit. Then won’t let you win. While the games are very fun to play and compete it crashes at an alarmingly high rate. But still manages to deduct the game play money from you. It has happened so many times it’s shocking this app is allowed to be on Apple App Store. For a while they were pretty responsive and would refund your game play crashes when asked. But after a while they just say no sorry the rate of refund is too high so they won’t do it anymore. This is stealing!! I did nothing to create these app bugs that cause crashes, they did. And then don’t refund you?? Insanity. I’m about to file theft charges. I’m owned probably $50 at this point. ### 1/5 — Hold your money hostage *2025-12-30, version 2025.1.203* I dont like how they hold your money hostage for up to 7 days if they cant find you an opponent. Most platforms have an hour to 24 hour return policy on your money. Plus the withdrawals are somewhat a joke. They say you can cash out up to $40 per 24 hours. I trusted them too and spent a lot of money on the platform they promise is legit and fair. But the “skill” would plateau, and my doubts of fair gameplay got stronger. Especially with one game in particular. So I did my research and found 1 developer and his game “Brick Blaster” to be a complete scam. This game has 1 developer operating numerous fake profiles. This developer was convicted of running an illegal gambling site on the East Coast and Laundering thousands through offshore accounts. Now hes back at it stealing your money again. This time living in Canada and hiding behind the SKILLZ platform. I came to SKILLZ with court docs, video of the game cheating, names and all the proof that I had, it looked promising for a second. I kept getting put through higher departments until I finally got to what they claimed was the top decision maker. They gave me 20 bucks in free play , said they closed the case, and that I didn’t have sufficient evidence or video of gameplay. Well any of you want to get in touch with me I will send you video of this game cheating . Court records of this guys conviction (which is public record btw) . Don’t let these companies rip you off!! They will happily take your money and then only allow you to withdrawal via physical check sent through the mail within 4-6 weeks. I’ve waited 6 weeks and still haven’t received anything. I made a withdraw request for $100 and no updates as it’s had been 2 months. ### 1/5 — No internet?? *2025-10-26, version 2025.0.67* Tells me I have no internet even though they send txts with verification codes and I input them correctly. Initially, I never had any real issues, but the last year has seen quite a shocking downturn. Firstly, customer service is next to non existent. Any issue with support is auto replied by A I responses, or maybe an agent ticking a box, but ultimately, you’re not dealing with anyone that can help. Secondly, skillz insist that they promote “fairness for all” throughout all their platforms, which is completely untrue. Skillz don’t want players who are particularly good at their games, and have now begun forcing the top players, or earners out of their games by blocking them from playing in events and tournaments, which is where players can make their money. I know for a fact that many players are still able to participate in these events, all be it players who were not in that top tier, but the ones who put the effort and time into playing these games and winning have now been forced out without any explanation. I was scammed out of my top tier status which I had spent $1000s over the course of 1 year to achieve, and the rewards were a whole year as a top tier player for free. I achieved this and they took it from me, again with no explanation or valid reason. Skillz are a scamming, lying and aggressive company who have cheated me and many others out of hard earned rewards and offered no reasons or showed any compassion to players. I would be particularly careful playing any of their games as a new player as they are only looking to manipulate this market. Note: developers response is to contact the same support staff who have manipulated my account in the first place! What an insult! ### 3/5 — Not matching with equal skill *2025-10-04, version 2025.0.67* The only solitaire app I’ve found that actually seems like it doesn’t uses bots, you can tell because sometimes you have to wait a while for an opponent rather it being instant. But it also says it’ll match you with people with equal skill but today it’s been matching me with people in a higher tier than me, im in emerald and I’ve been matched with people in ruby- 1 tier higher. So not sure otherwise no complaints ### 1/5 — Terrible terrible terrible customer service *2025-08-26* This game doesn’t even deserve a one star. The dominoes game has such terrible crash rates and malfunction rates and they refuse to give refunds when it happens I screenshot everything as it starts to happen and then I report it and after a few crashes their standard response comes to me saying that I exceeded their average crash rate and I can’t get a refund again for another month, well obviously this shows that they have serious issues with this game and they should not be allowing people to play it if it’s just going to crash and take their money it also has a glitch where the screen gets all screwed up before you even start, and I screenshot that Because I can’t even play the game doesn’t even load correctly and I have still exceeded their quota from their standard automated email response. I like to play the game and it’s a shame that they rip people off so much and there’s nothing you can do except stop playing which is what I’m gonna do. **Developer response:** Hello! They used to be good about refunding your entry fees when the game crashes, but something has changed and they are no longer processing refunds. Here’s what happens: You start a game, and they have no problem collecting the entry fee, but then the game freezes and the only option is to close the app completely. When you open the app again, the game history shows that it’s awaiting you to finish the match. In order to request a refund, you copy the match code and send a message to support. Their AI bot response is, “we are sorry your game crashed. Because your game might be matched, your refund will be processed in 7 days.” Problem is the refund is never processed and Skillz does not let you see that far back in your history so you have no idea which games crashed and need refunds. I’ve requested an audit of my account and they never responded. In short, Skillz takes your money, game crashes, an AI bot responds with the same message that they will provide a refund in 7 days, refund is never issued, and there’s no way to reconcile crashed games with refund requests. Amazing how the app is set up so that it has no problem taking your money, and then crashes. 🧐 Save your money. Save yourself time. Save yourself the frustration of trying to reason with AI. ### 1/5 — Skillz operates at a loss, again. *2026-04-19, version 2025.1.460* At this point, this reflects on Andrew Paradise and Skillz leadership. Players do not need more spin, they need fairness, trust, and real support. I am very disappointed in this platform. They also have at least one REALLY mean an angry customer support staff member. VET YOUR STAFF FIRST :/ on all levels not just upper management. Ridiculous. ### 1/5 — Programmed for failure *2026-04-13, version 2025.1.460* The coding on this is genius and Skillz is getting rich AF ### 1/5 — Not fair matching *2026-04-05, version 2025.1.460* Skillz claims they make games fair through their matchmaking system, they don’t. Fair matchmaking would be random. What they do is make it as close to a 50/50 winrate as possible and call that fair. The problem is that you have to bet 60 to win 40. That means every $120 that gets bet only $100 gets paid out. Pair that with the 50/50 win chance and it’s unbeatable. If matchmaking were random some people would win and some would lose. Only the one or two people at the very, very top can win and by then Skillz has raked all the money out of the game. Can you imagine going to play poker at a casino and being made to sit by skill level, no matter the stakes? Honestly it’s a scam. They will pay you if you win but by design very little of what goes in comes out. ### 1/5 — Glitchy and Takes your money!!! *2026-02-17, version 2025.1.203* used to play this all the time back in 2019-2020 when Tetris clash was a thing, loved it but felt it was a bit rigged. Now the bubble game is closest you can find to Tetris. It’s glitchy, freezes mid game and basically takes your money without giving you a fair game. I had a bug after a match and I contacted them about it. Provided a screen shot to prove it and they still refused to grant me the win. I would have thought customer loyalty would have meant something to them but it clearly doesn’t. Skillz wants you to add money to your account to “win” cash prizes. Cool no problem thats what I came here for… but here is the real problem. It’s like they are running a pyramid scheme because you add money and yeah you will win a game or so but after every time you win you will some how be paired with an expert player the next game its just suspicious because it is EVERY TIME after you win so you will LOSE which results in you obviously losing the game but YOUR MONEY! So you are fished in by the advertisement of “winning money” then you play and win every other game and it pumps you up to think you have a chance of actually winning more money. Then you play again and or maybe put more money in and some how you get paired with the best player and lose. In my honest opinion I think everyone plays against an A.i Robot created by Skillz and majority times there is no profile picture of the person you are playing, There is a constant cycle of win, lose, win, lose. Who knows if that money you lose goes directly to Skillz or if it legitimately goes to another person. I think it’s a SCAM and all of our money goes to the company instead of its players! Then to add on to all that I deleted the Skillz app 6 MONTHS AGO… I wake up this morning to an email basically stating I will be charged $2 for not logging in and playing😂 They call it a “maintenance fee” which is hilarious.
