I also love that the app tells me when i shouldn’t mix two products. That said, the UI has not changed much since the app came out, the routines sections feel a little cluttered and confusing, would love to finally see an UI update & a more clean / clear routine section. ### 2/5 — Great idea… in theory *2024-10-20, version 7.1.3* The idea behind it is great and would be useful to me except there is pretty much no products already inputted into it so you will have to manually enter EVERYTHING unless it’s some products from The Ordinary, Hylamide, Loopha, Fountain; The Chemistry Brand or NIOD. I’m new to skincare, but when I get into a new hobby, I get *into* it. I’ll spend hours researching, putting info in spreadsheets, etc. I read about this app on Reddit and was intrigued. People had rave reviews so I downloaded it and omg I am so impressed. As someone who loves all my data to be organized, I love how many little details I can include in the products and how many customization options there are. The app is as meticulous as my routine and makes doing it even more organized, which makes it more fun for me 😅 I’m someone who loves tracking ROI (and I’ve already gotten incredible ROI from this app alone), so the fact that this app not only tracks usage, but also tells me the actual $ value I’m getting from the product, is amazing. The developer is super responsive to feedback, which I appreciate so much. They have thought of literally everything in terms of customization, and the guide is so clear. I love how it shows potential conflicts but also gives the option to ignore them. I have done far too much research to be considered sane, but for someone just getting started, the automatic layering suggestions are so helpful! I only wish I had discovered this app sooner. Well worth the purchase! ### 5/5 — Skincare Routine is your recipe for your best complexion! *2024-01-27, version 6.8.10* I honestly can’t say enough good about Skincare Routine. On and off for years I’ve searched and tried several skincare apps and found fault with all of them. Most tried too hard to be everything. Some had motivational quotes, others tried to incorporate a social aspect where you could connect with other users, and most tried too hard to be cute but put less effort into making the features really useful and valuable. And the UX and UI for most was lacking at best. So when I found Skincare Routine I was at the end of my rope. I got so much more than I ever could have imagined. There is literally not enough time or space here for me to expand on every single feature I appreciate, so I’ll just hit the highlights. The photo journal is priceless. It’s one thing to THINK your skincare is working. It’s another thing to be able to scroll back weeks or months and see how much your complexion has changed. Another thing I like is that you can share your AM or PM routine easily. This is perfect for the TikTok genre or any other social media platform. You can even edit the color of the background and post or print it, or share it with friends. If you use products from the Deciem brand you can easily add them as they’re in the app’s database. But if you don’t, it’s no big deal. Lay out your products, spend about half an hour and just enter in as much information for each product as you choose; you can even take a picture of the product so it shows in the app. After that, each product will show up in your routine in the order you’re supposed to apply them. I also like that you can edit what days and AM and/or PM for products. I can even specify how many times a week for each product. So, for instance, I only use a Vitamin C facial mask twice a week, so I set the days it’s to be used and then set a max of twice a week so that it doesn’t show in my routine after I’ve used it twice. You can get as macro as you choose to fit your routine to your specific needs. I used to have the best products but would use them willy nilly then wonder why I wasn’t seeing the promised results. Now? I’ve streamlined my products and still have better results by knowing what to use and when and being disciplined, checking off each step daily. Having a true skincare routine is like having a recipe for my best skin. And then there’s Chris. Seriously, the man care about his app. On occasion I’ll reach out to with a question or a suggestion and he’s all ears. I talk about this app everywhere, all the time. There’s not one single day I am not grateful for Skincare Routine’s ease of use and rich list of features. If you don’t believe me, go ahead and try all the others and then try Skincare Routine. You’ll breathe a sigh of relief and never go back to those others again. Promise! ### 5/5 — I appreciate everything about this app *2023-12-12, version 6.8.10* There are so many delightful layers to this powerful app. It was already great to be able to see all my products on a calendar. The more I used it though, the more features and capabilities I didn’t know existed began to appear. (At first it seems a little complex, but you just have to commit about an hour to playing with it, and going through each setting, and suddenly it’s crystal clear.) There is so much thoughtful customization, automation , and versatility in this app. It’s honestly refreshing to have such a high quality app. It’s also beautiful to look at. It has saved my skincare routine in that I was getting way too confused about what to use, and not use, when. I also love that it’s a one time purchase. It’s refreshing to not have to commit to yet another subscription. It all makes me feel warm feelings and gratitude for the app developer. You are a MVP! I know it’s impossible to have every single product out there but it would be nice to have other popular brands available instead of having to manually add them. A friend was telling me about something like this and I recommended the app to her. She was happy as it does exactly what she wanted as well. I wish adding products was faster because the first time takes longer with every product for sure, but it's fine when it's just one at a time after that. Maybe a bigger database of common products will be available someday. I like to use it on my iPad to add the ingredients and look at my list, it syncs with my phone which is perfect. I like how it tells you which products not to mix and why. I have a lot of products that don’t work together. This app is perfect to let me know what days. I can use certain products. I’m able to take a picture and track my Skincare. It lets me know what’s working for me and what’s not I don’t constantly have to guess on what’s next in my skin care routine just lets me know. i’m able to type in every single product and it lets me know what’s in it and it’s just an absolute lifesaver. I recommended to everyone whether you’re new to Skincare or your advance. This is definitely the app for you. I paid the five dollars and I’ve never regretted it. It’s my holy Grail absolutely wonderful.
