It’s straightforward and effective ### 5/5 — Technophobe *2023-10-29* I’ve been trying to set up an appointment with my doctor for at least a lifetime and a half but they ( Kaiser ) just have had me on the hamster wheel of perpetual red tape and irritation. The app was quite easy and user friendly. I’m about as tech averse as they come, but was able to accomplish this with little difficulty. Simplicity is king in an era of red tape!!! My only concern with the app is privacy but that can only be proven with time. 9 out of 10! I hadn’t been to the derm in years because of my busy schedule, so this was a great option to have! Screening was fast and easy. A+ ### 5/5 — Helped me skip the 6 month wait to see a dermatologist *2022-02-14* With a family history of skin cancer, I know I’m supposed to get annual skin exams. But the dermatologists I called for an appointment couldn’t see me for 4 or even 6 months. Luckily my employer just started offering SkinIO as a new benefit. I was able to do my skin screening at home with the app in about 15 minutes. I got an email the next day saying that based on my photos, the doctor that looked at them recommended that I go see a dermatologist in person. I was frustrated because I know how long that would take to be seen. Then someone from SkinIO called me and said they have a dermatologist near me that could see me within 3 weeks! I was so relieved that they offer that referral as part of their service. I made an appointment and will be going in next week. I’m so glad I will be seen so quickly and they take my insurance. After creating my account, I was able to get through the picture-taking process in no time. I also like how it lets you pick spots you’re concerned about to get reviewed. Everything ended up being very smooth and quick, I would definitely recommend this to anyone, especially those who may be worried and want to check their skin! ### 5/5 — Catching it early saved my life *2022-01-26* A few weeks before my 39th birthday I went in to have a spot looked at (thanks to my wife). Several days later I received a phone call from the dermatologist. The biopsy came back positive for melanoma. They took a chunk out of my arm and removed some lymph nodes. Tests showed it was 1A and it hadn’t spread. Thankfully they caught it early. I’m now seeing my dermatologist every 3 months. I know they are trained to spot skin cancer but having technology like SkinIO as a second pair of eyes gives me peace of mind that I’m doing everything I can to monitor my skin. If I had something as convenient and affordable as this before, I would have started checking my skin a long time ago. ### 5/5 — Helpful skin app *2017-08-30* If you wear - or should wear - sunscreen every day, you should have this app too. This app makes it simple to monitor your skin - just take a series of photos and the image processing algorithm and in-house dermatologists review your skin for you. If any changes occurred, the app notifies you to see a doctor. To be cancer free for $100 a year is a bargain. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — A scam *2023-07-02* Me and my husband recieved an email stating they’d pay us both $780 back in January it’s July 2023 we recieved no discount or money and they sent a bill for 65.00 never was told I’d be charged this is a scam and should be removed from the play store. **Developer response:** We’re so sorry to hear that this was your experience. Our app is designed to provide access to early detection of skin cancer and to in-person care if you need it, and we want every user to have the absolute best experience possible. The $780 sum is a health insurance premium credit from your employer. Unfortunately we are not connected in any way to your employer’s fulfillment of that credit. The $65 charge is from your health plan, which - again unfortunately - we have no ability to control. That said, we are more than happy to partner with you in contacting both your employer and your health plan to see if we can help you rectify both.
