It wasn’t perfect: pickups frequently rescheduled, app glitches (fixed now) that sometimes caused my pickup to be canceled. But I was patient, the bottles got picked up and delivered, donation made. It was good. But now after every pickup, I get a bright red “suggestion list” of all the things I’m suddenly doing wrong. First they were too heavy, now they’re too far (behind the gate); I should write on masking tape instead of taping on my printed labels. I should change my phone alerts and ringer so I can be there to hand the bags to the driver. This is getting ridiculous and insulting. **Developer response:** Hello Sillymama2, thanks for the review. If you would like to avoid the app updates, access the app through our website portal on our website. ### 2/5 — Good, but needs some work *2026-05-14* I really like the app and the convenience it offers, but we put our business hours in (open at 11AM), and twice now they’ve scheduled the driver to come before 11. It seems there’s a disconnect from the notes and what the driver sees. I even spoke with the support team & he ensured me he’ll mark us down for that pickup time, but the driver still arrived at 9AM. I’d be happy to update my review once this is sorted ! ### 4/5 — So helpful! *2026-02-27* This service is so handy! A waste of time to save up all those bags. ### 1/5 — Terrible *2024-09-15* I’ve been scheduling pickups for the past 3 months and they keep getting pushed back. My last one was scheduled for this week. Morning of they confirmed they’d be here between 8-5. That’s great. We got up early, tagged the bags and put them out. We waited all day. I continued to check the app and it still said between 8-5. Cool. 3:30 came and I checked the app again and it said pickup scheduled for October 10th, a month later. We are moving out of our place October 1st. That is no good to me. I contacted customer support. They said they have no drivers here and that my pickup should have never been scheduled. Why allow me to request pickup in an area with no drivers? I’m beyond disappointed at this point. Scheduling for months on end and not even an email saying they have no drivers. Unbelievable. I will never try this service again. If I could rate zero stars I would. We waited around all day with almost 30 bags for not even an email notification till almost 5 hours after pickup time started. **Developer response:** Hello Callister20, We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you’ve experienced. I had MANY problems with the drivers, when they don’t want to pick your order up, they’ll take a picture of what ever and say they couldn’t find where you put your cans. This one driver sent me a picture of a water fall! They only knock once then leave and then you have to re-schedule it!!! That happened to me many times and i don’t know why they didn’t phone me. They also took my t.v and never gave me the money for it so the driver probably fixed it and kept it. They aren’t good people, the people who reply to the reviews are fake and trying to act like they’ll help! I don’t want to re make an account because of these drivers being lazy and trying to get paid for doing nothing! Plus the money you get back from them is cheap as hell, they take most of it for profit! DON’T DOWNLOAD THIS APP. ### 1/5 — Guess Skip the Depot’s definition of “real-time” is a bit different than the rest of the world’s? *2021-04-10, version 2.23.1* Real time tracker freezes constantly, then just updates to “Your driver will be there between 8am and 5pm.” Thanks. That’s so helpful after waiting around all day because the pick-up time has frozen on three separate occasions. Contact customer service - they were great the first time around. Offered a credit, assured me this glitch would be updated by the end of the week. Three months later... nope. And this time around customer service doesn’t give a toss. Doesn’t listen, doesn’t validate any of my concerns, doesn’t offer to make it right in any way. Just tells me how their suburban clients can just leave their bags unattended in their yard all day for pick-up so the real-time tracker doesn’t matter. That’s super lucky for them I guess, but when you live in a Beltline apartment, you can’t just leave bags of cans & bottles outside your building all day. That’s the point of the “real-time” tracker. They literally said “It’s actually very difficult to get a more accurate time than 8:00am - 5:00pm.” Well obviously, because in how many months you’ve yet to be able to get the real-time tracker on your app to work, and if that’s the case, do away with it altogether & stop wasting apartment & condo clients’ time. I signed onto this app because it was supposed to make things easier for me without a vehicle. But there’s an issue every single time & obviously they have no desire to fix these issues or retain my business. Their drivers are great, never a bad experience there, but their customer service agent should consider a new line of work. ### 1/5 — ZERO!!! WORST SERVICE EVER!!!! *2020-07-18, version 2.14.1* My friend warned me about them, but as a single mother who desperately needed money for groceries, and no way to get the bottles out, I took a chance. What a mistake!! First off, I gave them 6 full bags of recycling. Which equates to just over $100. Yes they’re prices are lower than regular depot so I expected it to be no less than $80. They take 30% which is $24. Which means they would give me $56. What I actually got was $25. Excuse me. What they donated was $25. I never chose the charity, I expected it back, needed it for groceries. I’m so upset. I have emailed them with no reply. I was told their service was crap. Should have listened. You’re better off bringing in your own bottles in. ### 1/5 — BIG DISAPPOINTMENT *2020-06-18, version 2.14.0* Love the idea of the app, though we had nothing but problems. They showed up two hours before the time the app said they would arrive and we did not have the bags out. They called once and took off within 3 minutes. They did not knock on the door. Rescheduled to the next week, again they came two hours before they mentioned they would but we were prepared this time. However, the reimbursement amount was laughable. Would easily have gotten twice as much if we had taken them in ourselves. I emailed to inquire and they said they reviewed the camera surveillance of the counts and they are correct and that they withheld 30%. Even though the first service is meant to be no fees. I’m also 100% sure the counts were incorrect. We had twelve full garbage bags of bottles/cans, and received $50. It would have been well over $100 at the depot. I will never use this app again, and would advise anyone else against so as well. Also you CANNOT DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT AND INFO!!!!! ### 1/5 — Do not recommend *2020-06-03, version 2.13.2* Dropped off 20 large bags at one of their Calgary drop off locations on May 15 and have not received my return. All my emails and calls are going unanswered. Very disappointed and unprofessional. ### 1/5 — Great concept but seems fishy *2020-05-30, version 2.13.2* For 9 full garbage bags, I only received $31 dollars and even used the ‘Doingmypart’ promo code. I requested if a few bags were missed but haven’t heard back.
