I’m wondering why the app doesn’t let users add new places, even though those establishments are shown on the map already (but not blue dot so you can’t click on them anyway). I’d love to see more expansion on the app and give better rating, but as of now it’s still a long way to go. ### 3/5 — Find Good Restaurants, Lacks Diversity *2020-03-27, version 2.6.7* I know the food scene in Austin very well, and this app covers a lot of the top spots. However, it’s missing all the small mom-and-pops and global cuisines. It needs to work on adding more diverse options. I’m still getting used to the app, but it seems pretty easy to follow. I think it needs to attract a lot more users for it to actually be useful. Most restaurants only have a few pics. ### 3/5 — interesting idea but could use some changes *2019-04-10* I really like the concept of this app at its core. As of now, I only use Instagram to find fun, trendy places with a younger crowd. However, Skorch loses some credibility in my eyes by using terms like “clout,” “on point” and “hotness.” I can tell they’re going for a trendy, young vibe, but even as a 22 year old it still kinda misses the mark for me and sounds silly. I also think that the likelihood of pulling up this app to take pictures while I am at a restaurant or bar is very slim. I would DEFINITELY post photos from my camera roll, but I doubt I would think to open up Skorch right away. There should be a camera roll option; you would get much more activity and posting. ### 3/5 — Confused *2019-03-14, version 2.5* Does this tell me what’s hot in real time? I don’t know if there just aren’t enough places or users yet but everything shows as not hot for me. Also when I launch the app the first thing I see is a blank screen if I don’t have any scorch friends. Would it work better if I looked at the app at 9 pm. It’s confusing whether these are just hits spots or is it when to visit too? ### 3/5 — Great idea! *2018-03-22* This app seems like a great idea (yelp has never been my favorite and I think this could be an improvement) but I think there are still some bugs to work out. The map is great but I would prefer to read the places on the list. However, the list does not update to a specified city or by proximity to you, so you have to scroll a ton to get to the right city. It seems like it should do that and maybe it is just not working effectively. If that issue was solved I think this would be an amazing app! **Developer response:** Hey, thanks for your review! It really helps you to discover amazing food especially if you are not familiar with the city/place!
