## What is Skrol | Contacts Organizer?

The Skrol app is an all-in-one contact organizer for well-connected people with a large number of personal and business contacts on their iPhones.

Download the Skrol app for free now and start using it immediately with all the contacts and address books already on your iPhone. You can continue using the Skrol and Contacts app simultaneously; no import or synchronization is required.

### 3/5 — Asks a little too much to set up

Sorry for the lackluster review. App is very fussy and deeply wants me to sync my current phone contacts, which I don't want to do. My idea is that I'd like an app separate from my personal phone contacts, so that I can keep all my business contacts' information completely separate for reference, no fluff from my personal. ie.) What I want is a digital rolodex of cards for only my business contacts and their information, what company they're for or what project they're working on, with tags and notes...

But since I don't want to sync my contacts, the app does not want me to move forward at all. Now... I don't know if this is an error on the app's part, or a deliberate part of the functionality, so I don't want to rate too harshly in case the problem actually lies with me, and what I'm looking for vs the intent of the app I'm trying to download.
But, unfortunately, this makes the app completely unusable in my case.

It looks very nice though, the UI (from what little I can see) is sleek and friendly and the language in the tutorials is clear and professional. There's plenty to appreciate in these regards.

Skrol does not synchronize or store contacts. It reads them directly from Apple Contacts, the same way Apple’s own apps do. This approach prioritizes safety, security, and full compatibility with other contact-based apps.

If you want to keep personal and business contacts separate, there are two options:

1. Use groups. Create Personal and Business groups and assign contacts in bulk from Skrol’s List view, without opening contacts one by one.


2. Use separate accounts. Create an additional Apple or Gmail account and move business contacts there. You can view accounts separately or combined, all within the same app.

1. Contact Enrichment. 
Enrich contact details using People Data Labs or Apollo. Add an email when creating a new contact or use the “Enrich with [Provider]” option to update the existing contacts on demand. A respective provider account is required.

2. Connect external services (Beta). 
Sync new contacts with HubSpot, Salesforce, and other apps via Zapier and n8n. When you add a contact in the originating system, a pre-built Zap or Node instantly creates a matching contact in your connected app without manual entry.

3. Nearby places.
When using the "Add Current Location" option, you can now choose the "Business" category to see a list of nearby businesses. Simply select one from the list to quickly add its details to the contact record, saving time and ensuring accurate address information.

4. Direct connection to the Google Contacts account database. 
This function is intended for the users of the Skrol/Pro or Google Contacts apps for the web. In this mode, the groups created on the iPhone are instantly synchronized with web apps and vice versa. You can also access custom fields, web links, and file attachments. When using the Skrol/Pro web app, all changes are updated in real-time on iPhone and on the web.

This addition doesn't affect the iPhone's native functionality, and you can switch back to a Gmail account on the iPhone at any time. If you aren’t using Google Contacts or Skrol/Pro web apps, we don't recommend using this option.

5. When viewing the address list in the "All contacts" mode (i.e., multiple accounts in a single list), the app shows people's avatars along with the related account icon.

When using the Skrol/Pro web app, all changes are updated in real-time on iPhone and on the web.

Improved integration with Skrol/Me digital business cards online database:

1. Improved interface for adding digital business cards to Skrol/Me database.

2. While adding a new record, Skrol will use its email to check if it's available in Skrol/Me database and will offer to add all available information automatically.

3. When you open an existing folder connected to Skrol/Me database, it will check for possible changes and offer you to update it.

### 3.8 — 2024-09-09

Scheduling — added an option to schedule events with selected contacts with different calendars, such as Google’s, Apple’s, or Outlook, depending on the user’s particular needs, such as Apple calendar for personal events and Google’s for business.

Calendly invites — added an ability to send Calendly invites  via SMS, Email, or Apple Share with a personalized cover letter from a custom template;

Folder photo — added an option to select between large rectangular and smaller circular photos of the contact to match the Appl Contacts design.

Personalized mail merge — added the ability to sign up for mail merge using Google account login. This option is faster, simpler to use, and more secure than adding SMTP passwords. Retained SMTP server sign-in with a password for all other email service providers.

Texts to groups or selection of contacts — added an ability to send text messages to more than one contact with just a few taps. This option works similarly to Carbon Copy in email. Unfortunately, the iPhone doesn’t permit personalization of text messages.

Mini wizard for adding up to 6 digital business cards. It automates the process by scanning pre-existing business cards, adding your photo or taking a selfie, and adding/editing the card content. 

Updated integration with the Chat and Social sites apps. Includes 7 chat apps and 13 social site apps, plus detailed help information. You can now add user IDs directly to Skrol from all apps that support device Share options and access individual account pages with one click.

The optional transition between sections and pages for a contemporary, upscale appearance. You can turn all or some transitions off if you prefer speed or use the app on an older device.

The optional menu animations for upscale appearance and UI compliance. You can turn these animations off.

Enhanced visual feedback for all control elements (i.e., visual confirmation of taps);

Granular haptic feedback for all control groups that allows to select between strong, medium, low, and no feedback in the Settings section; 

Extensive overhaul of the Settings section for greater clarity and granularity, including brief explanations for most of the settings.
