It should however accommodate the versatility of round order like going from round 10 backwards to round 1 or even/odd rounds only. Also with the new expansion pack, I would like to see the new cards added as options in the scoring. ### 4/5 — Great! But………. *2025-08-09, version 1.3* Overall the app great. Awesome app. ### 4/5 — Basics are fine *2022-07-27, version 1.2* This app is fine for basic score keeping. You can’t enter bonus points for the alliance treasure cards however. Otherwise it’s a nice addition to the game. ### 4/5 — Great starter guide but needs adjustments *2022-06-12, version 1.2* Love the app but end up using pencil/paper. Unfortunately if you make a small mistake your unable to go back to previous round to fix it. Like if someone accidentally entered a bonus or incorrect bid/win and you hit next round, you can’t go back to fix it. 2nd adjustment need to be in the bonus points. For adding bonus points the app does not have one for the loot card bonus. The app also not have bonus points for “rascal the pirate” and if you need to subtract points from using “rascal the pirate” there’s no option for it. So even if you don’t make mistakes but are using cards “loot” and “rascal the pirate ability” you have to revert to paper and pencil. I used the app when first learning or teaching others without all the extras only. So to the creators of the app, PLEASE ADD EDIT/BACK AND PLEASE ADD BOUNUS POINTS FOR THE LOOT AND “RACAL THE PIRATE” INCLUDING SUBTRACTED BONUS POINTS!!!! ### 4/5 — Great app, but needs some features *2022-02-03, version 1.2* We use this app all the time, but it would be nice if you can go back to previous rounds and edit the scores if you accidentally made a mistake. As well, you can’t edit the “special bonuses” (loot, Rascal of Roatan, etc.) if you accidentally applied it to the wrong player. Essentially, the app works great if you make zero mistakes. However, if you’re like me, there will more than likely be mistakes along the way. ### 4/5 — Love it *2022-01-06, version 1.2* I really love this app and find it easy to use with one exception. If a player forms an alliance using the loot card and they both win the bonus by winning the tricks they bet, if their total score is in the negative there doesn’t seem to be a way to get into the bonus scoring to record the loot bonus ### 4/5 — Super fun with one weird bug *2021-12-31, version 1.2* Makes the app so easy and fun! The one problem: you can’t go backward if you forget to add a bonus. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Not accurate to game directions *2023-01-01, version 1.2* At first this app seemed great, way better than keeping score on paper and having to do the math yourself. We quickly realized though that there is one major flaw - the bonus points are incorrect in the app and do not reflect the correct amounts that are in the game directions. We will no longer use the app as it doesn’t keep score correctly. ### 1/5 — Disappointing *2022-12-26, version 1.2* Unable to see the running score. Consequently, if having to play a shortened game, there’s no way of seeing who won, based on the hands played. Additionally, inability to edit / correct prior hand bid, won or incorrect bonus points, makes the app less usable. Would be really nice to switch the list of players in each round by seat position (the default way it is now) and by score (+/-) ### 3/5 — Missing a few essential features *2023-01-25, version 1.2* No way to score bidding with the special pirate or to record bonus points form the loot, so I have to switch to paper. Add those features and it would be perfect! ### 3/5 — Good App, but missing some options *2022-04-04, version 1.2* The app is really helpful and is nice so it does the math for you. The downside is it doesn’t have options for all the bonus points. There isn’t an option to account for captures other than the Skull King capturing Pirates. Also, there isn’t a way to account for the alliance coins (loot?). The bonus menu is nice, but these things should be added, or even just a way to edit and add the bonus points in yourself would be great. I had to keep a separate note on my phone to track these other points that couldn’t be added in the app, which was kind of a bummer. ### 3/5 — Good app but inaccurate *2021-07-28, version 1.1* I use this app every time I play, but scoring is different than if you were to write out the score. I compared the two and the ranking stays the same, but the scores were off. You also can’t see a running total, or individual prior round scores, and you cannot deduct any points with this app. Hopefully there can be an update to fix all of these issues. ### 3/5 — Nice but flawed *2021-07-16, version 1.1* As others have said there is no way to go back a round. It would be nice to go back and double check everything was entered correctly. Second and most important is the app doesn’t match the scoring in the rule book. At least the version I just bought. You should be able to get 20 points for each mermaid taken by a pirate. This isn’t in the bonus point section. And you should only get 40 points for taking the skull king with a mermaid. In the app you get 50. So either the scoring is wrong or it is outdated compared to the new version of the game. If they fixed these two issues I think it would be perfect! ### 3/5 — Need up to 12 Players *2020-08-17, version 1.1* Love the interface, but we play with two decks and 12 players. Please update this app to allow 12 player support and scoring. ### 3/5 — Efficient, for the base game *2020-05-31, version 1.0* As the other raters have said this is a really good way to keep scores for the base game of Skull King. Unfortunately the functionality for the Legendary Expansion is only partially included in this, being that it includes the bonus for mermaids, but not the bonuses for loot cards or the wager in regard to the Rascal of Roatan. Additionally, once you’ve submitted scores for a round and moved on to the next, there’s no way to go back and make changes if you made a mistake, or double check what everyone earned to ensure that no mistake was made. I would love for this to have those added functionalities, but until it does, I think I’ll stick to traditional pen and paper scorekeeping any time we’re playing with the expansion. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Saves me from doing math & writing *2025-11-09, version 1.3* Great app, grateful to keep score of the game while we play. While playing the game we came across a few things that could be added to it. When using the loot card, forming an alliance with someone there isn’t a way to add those bonus points to those players. Especially if one player bid 0 and got their bid, there isn’t a way to get the bonus points. The points for capturing a mermaid is 50 on the app while the rule book says 20 points per mermaid captured. There isn’t a way to add or subtract points to the player that wins Rascal of Roatan and chooses to bid those points. Appreciate the app! It helps a lot and saves time for the score keeper! And to edit/cancel the legendary expansion buttons? Also, the current bonus point rules do not match with the 2021 version rulebook: 20 points for capturing each mermaid by a pirate; 40 points for capturing skull king by a mermaid; 30 points for capturing each pirate by the skull king. ### 5/5 — Excellent Scorekeeper App *2021-07-05, version 1.1* We love this app as it makes keeping score for this game so much easier. Our only complaint is that this app isn’t on android (not all of us have iPhones) and that you can’t fix the score from a previous round if you forgot a bonus or something. We play this game all the time and the app makes scoring a breeze. Highly recommend it to anyone who plays this game. A few minor issues. I don’t understand why you have to have logged a score before you can enter the Rascals wager. The wager usually happens in the middle of the round and I don’t log the tricks taken til the end. This just makes me log a trick for someone, then enter their wager. Then at the end of the round adjust their tricks. And it would be nice to go back to previous rounds to fix errors.
