Back in those days, banner ads were common, and video ads MAYBE popped up on game-over. I downloaded it on my iPad today out of nostalgia and the number of ads renders the game basically unplayable. An ad plays after each level you complete; the ads last anywhere from 15-30 seconds. In another game, this wouldn’t be that bad, but in Sky Burger the easier levels only take like 30 seconds to complete! You literally end up spending just as much time watching ads as you do playing the game! It eliminates all the fun and actually adds a bit of a sense of dread to completing a level, since you know you’re about to get hit with an ad. Childhood nostalgia destroyed. I realize mobile games and advertising have changed a lot in the past 10 or so years but this is unconscionable - and borderline unplayable. ### 1/5 — This game used to be great what happened? *2021-04-11, version 3.0.4* How does it look and feel worse than when I played it yeaaars ago. Sometime in 2021, the app disappeared from the App Store, but when I checked again in 2023, it was finally back. It's a very good comeback! The gameplay is great, and I love that you have the option to use either the touch screen or tilt controls to catch the burger ingredients. It’s also nice that we can customize the cook's gender, clothes, and other features. However, the major flaw of this game—and it has been for years—is the penalty for losing. If you fail a complicated level (for example, making a hard "green burger" with all pickles, cucumbers, and lettuce) by accidentally dropping the top bun too early, the game drops your rank all the way back to the basic levels.
