## What is Sky Lock?

Sky Lock is a clean, fast weather app — and, if you choose to turn it on, a fully private, encrypted vault for your own files.

WEATHER, DONE SIMPLY
Sky Lock shows current conditions, an hourly outlook, and a multi-day forecast in a straightforward, uncluttered interface. Search any city, or use your current location (with your permission) for local weather. Location is used only to show you the forecast — nothing more.

Sky Lock uses live forecasts from Apple WeatherKit, with Apple attribution. It never generates or substitutes conditions. If live data is unavailable, Sky Lock clearly shows a previously saved forecast or reports that weather is unavailable.

PRIVATE MODE — AN OPTIONAL ENCRYPTED VAULT
Sky Lock includes an optional feature called Private Mode: an on-device, encrypted vault for YOUR OWN photos, videos, documents, and message-style Encrypted Notes. It is off until you set it up, and it is fully disclosed — here, in the app's onboarding, and in Settings.

Everything you add to Private Mode is encrypted on your device with industry-standard AES-256-GCM. Your files are protected by a passphrase you choose. Sky Lock never stores your passphrase or any PIN — not even a hash of it. A wrong passphrase simply fails to decrypt. That means there is no backdoor and no "forgot password" server: if you lose both your passphrase and your recovery key, no one — including us — can recover your data.

At setup you receive a one-time Recovery Key. Write it down and keep it safe; it is the only way to reset a forgotten passphrase.

WHAT'S INSIDE PRIVATE MODE
- Secure Albums for photos and videos, with nested album organization
- A Documents area, viewed with the system document viewer
- Encrypted Notes: the app's own private, message-styled notes with titles, labels, folders, tags, and attachments. These are NOT your text messages — Sky Lock does not read, intercept, or touch iMessage or SMS.
- Search across your vault after you unlock it
- Face ID / Touch ID as a convenience unlock (your passphrase and recovery key always remain the real keys)
- Auto-lock when you leave the app, with a blank cover in the app switcher so private content never appears in multitasking previews
- Optional Decoy Vault: a separate vault opened by its own PIN
- Privacy personalization: choose from alternate app icons

IMPORT AND EXPORT, ON YOUR TERMS
Add photos and videos through Apple's standard picker and documents through the Files picker. Large videos are handled in a memory-safe, streaming way with progress and cancel. After importing photos, Sky Lock can OFFER to remove the originals — you confirm through iOS's own dialog; nothing is deleted silently. Export anything you've stored, save it back to Photos, or share it — sensitive actions like exporting or sharing require you to re-authenticate first. Your imported content always stays viewable, exportable, and deletable.

The free tier includes 10 lifetime successful imports. Failed or cancelled imports use no credit, deletion does not refund credits, and an oversized batch is rejected before any files are imported. Existing content remains accessible after the allowance is used. Sky Lock Plus unlocks unlimited new imports and advanced tools.

PRIVACY BY DESIGN
- No ads, no third-party ad SDKs, no tracking, no analytics.
- No contact scraping. Sky Lock does not read your messages or contacts.
- Camera, Photos, and Location are used only when you start a related action and grant permission.
- Your content and its metadata are encrypted on-device. Sky Lock has no server that can read your files.

You control your data: Export My Data, Delete Vault, and Delete All Data are always available.

Sky Lock is discreet, not deceptive. The vault, how it's opened, how it's encrypted, and every permission it uses are documented in the app.
