The sidereal time is displayed down to the second, but is only accurate to the minute. For some reason the developer chose to display the same value for seconds on sidereal time as for local and universal time. That’s just not right. ### 4/5 — Nice app, but problem with sidereal time. *2019-11-18, version 1.4* I use this in a lab course on radio astronomy I teach to quickly see what the local sidereal time is. This is the problem: When the seconds roll over from 60 to 0, the minutes do not increment by 1 until after 20 seconds have passed by. I particularly appreciate knowing the local sidereal time, and the red and black display, to preserve night vision. I see on the App store the picture of the app having Bangor UK time which is 12 hour clock (AM/PM). But on my newly downloaded app, I have the 24 hour clock on it. Is there a way to change it ? Great for astronomers and general geeks. If you have Pocket Universe (another great app) it will jump to that app directly when you tap the telescope. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Not accurate *2014-08-09, version 1.1* Sidereal time does not track what the USNO provides. Not even close to correct. ### 1/5 — Of Little Use *2012-11-27, version 1.1* It took a while to figure out that it had fired up with Location Services off. When I got into it, I found the same as others, the Sidereal Time is "pretend" and imprecise. I tried an alternative, an App called "Scope Help", and it fired up, complete with location, within a few seconds and the Sidereal Time is spot on. I have to give it a big '1 star' I'm afraid. ### 2/5 — Does not work if you’re in half hour time zone *2023-02-17* Review title says it all. The sidereal time display reads to the nearest second, but this is misleading. In reality, the reading in seconds merely duplicates the second hand of the ordinary clock and might as well not be there at all. The result is that sidereal time is displayed only to the nearest minute, and even that reading is liable to be a minute out. What a pity! Red on reddish background doesn't make it. Check out a newspaper, magazine, or book, all designed for maximum ease in reading, maximum contrast. As I said one suggestion to developer... Can you make option to display sidereal time as the primary clock? That would be awesome. Right now it’s just as one of the secondaries. That clock I think is the main reason why someone would get this app, so make this a primary clock, please. Or include as an option, please.
