## What is Skybase?

Skybase is a paragliding companion that helps you decide if, when, and where to fly — then flies with you.

PRE-FLIGHT
• Per-site go/no-go score tuned to your skill level
• Wind report + 18-hour trend and nearby live wind stations
• Thermal forecast: when lift switches on, peaks, and off
• Wind-aloft sounding + thermal-trigger hints from terrain & sun

IN THE AIR
• GPS + barometer vario with audio, sun-readable display
• Background IGC recording, in-flight topo map, airspace warnings
• Final-glide reach cone, live wind from your turns, XC scoring

AFTER
• Logbook with track playback, 3D terrain replay, stats & achievements
• Per-wing gear tracking — flights, airtime and distance on each wing
• One-tap upload to your XC league, IGC sharing, per-wing glide polar

SAFETY — always free
• In-flight SOS and an overdue-landing alert that can text or call your emergency contact with your last position

COMING SOON — SKYBASE PRO
• "Watch me fly" live tracking for family, seeing pilots nearby, and the automatic no-check-in alert

Offline-first and private — your data stays on your device; your position is shared only when you turn it on. Decision support only, never a clearance — always make your own go/no-go call and carry current charts.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 0.2.2 — 2026-09-17

- Every flight is now named with the site you flew - worked out from where your track starts, or name it yourself.
- Logging a flight by hand can search OpenStreetMap for the site, and warns if you misspell one you've used before.
- Tap "Sites" on your Career card to see everywhere you've flown on a map.
- Share a flight as a web link your friends can watch in a browser.
- The audio vario is now on by default, and remembers your choice.
- Recover flights that didn't save, plus more accurate airtime and climb figures.
- Safer go/no-go: real hazards - rotor, strong gusts, low cloud base - now flag red.
- Reliability fixes throughout.

### 0.2.1 — 2026-08-15

Redesigned in-flight screen — a cleaner, customizable readout bar you can arrange and drag, with the wind compass back as a floating rose.
One-file backup & restore — export everything (flights, sites, wings, routes and your IGC tracks) to a single file, then restore it on a new phone. Moving devices no longer risks your logbook.
Test the audio vario on the ground — set your volume before launch with real climb/sink tones, no GPS or flight needed.
Per-wing stats — see each wing's lifetime flights, air time and distance; retire an old wing to keep its history.
Tap any site map to open it full-screen.
Smoother map, logbook and weather, plus bug fixes.
Everything still works offline, no account needed.
