Have deleted app and reinstalled - still the same. What is the sense of have a camera doorbell if you cannot access live video ### 1/5 — I don’t reccomend it *2024-06-27, version 4.3.0* I have several different video doorbells and frankly this one is not worth it. Plus your forced to do a monthly charge for video storage. Other have as cards in them other have a bridge and a storage unit that plugs in the house . You can access those any time any where. This app doesn’t show me the latest movement. It shows me hours ago. It takes for ever to log in. When the door bell is pushed it takes minutes to connect with the person at the door! What a waste of time. It need to be instant! Yes I’m In my house yes in the same Network and yes full strong 300 WiFi!!! It’s o ly the fault of the skybell. Slow! As of a few weeks ago it completely stopped working and now I only have a flashing light. I hope customer service will help me find a solution, if not I will have to uninstall and purchase a different one instead. ### 3/5 — No sleazy subscription “service“. *2023-11-03* Favorite thing about the skybell is that there is no sleazy subscription “service” to view my own videos, so based on that alone this is the best doorbell camera available that I know of. Amazing to me that some people are dumb enough to pay infinite monthly fees for stuff like that, btw. Would love to see them expand into similar offerings like garage cameras, porch- and carriage-light cameras, homekit compatibility, a roku channel or something so I can see who’s at the door on my tv, etc. However, it is pretty cheesy that they lied about having a temperature sensor, and though they did honor their warranty on my first one which was defective, they told me that its replacement had no warranty at all, so I guess it’s just luck that the replacement is doing ok so far, otherwise it would’ve been a complete ripoff. **Developer response:** Hi, Thank you for the honest and thorough review. Thank you! ### 2/5 — Notifications to iPhone fail *2023-10-27, version 4.3.0* This doesn’t record everything. Some how all delivery is not recorded or notifies me. Someone rings the doorbell and if I’m not home, I can just push a button on my phone and talk to them. Or not. This doorbell seldom (RARELY) works on live stream. It’s not because my WiFi is not close, because it is. The system just never seems to work. I always get a ‘Can’t connect, try again later’ message. Good thing that this doorbell came with the house, I would never spend the $$ to go out and buy one. What a waste of time this was. It wasn’t cheap. By removing service to earlier models the company hopes to get you to buy a newer model. What a joke. These cameras are terrible quality, they rarely ever connect when you try to view them, and if they miraculously do manage to show you anything, it’s a terrible quality that freezes up after a few seconds. The new app keeps popping up every time I open this one. However, it refuses to connect my cameras to it for some reason. I will be switching away from SkyBell as soon as I can. They truly are garbage. ### 1/5 — DO NOT BUY !! *2024-07-27, version 4.3.0* Last only 2-3 years if you lucky! Weird set up. They just changed their app and it disaster! My doorbell was ok till we migrated the device to new app and it’s not working. Their customer service told us after 1.5 hours that bell broke magically so it is the device not their new app that is useless!!! They take no responsibility and will not help you to solve any problems. For such a expensive door bell we should expect better service. ### 1/5 — Motion sensor just stopped working *2024-07-25, version 4.3.0* It was a really good doorbell camera up until motion sensors weren’t picking up anything , you can literally be right in front of the camera and they won’t go off! While I’ve had problems (as many other people reported) with motion detection not working, or not being able to play back activity, it has been working flawlessly for the past few months. (I should note the “button pressed” notifications and live view has always worked fine on my unit.) I can only assume SkyBell pushed out an update sometime in the recent past that fixed the problems, and it’s been rock solid since. I chose this model because they don’t charge monthly fees. Super happy with the product now that it’s fully back in action. ### 5/5 — Skybell is great *2021-08-11, version 4.2.1* The product has it,s minor challenges, but overall. Fantastic product and camera overall. ### 5/5 — Customer service just solved my connection problem *2021-08-02, version 4.2.1* We have had a SkyBell for 3 1/2 years and in the last few days it stopped connecting. I wrote to customer service and after going through a full reset (through the yellow light sequence) and pushing WPS on the router, finally was able to get it to connect but not reliably. Then customer service pushed a firmware update (5080) through the Wi-Fi and, big smiles, it works great again! The upgrade even added 1080 P. ### 5/5 — I like it *2021-08-02, version 4.2.1* I have had this app, and the camera installed next to my front door, for 3 years now. I think it is pretty good especially considering that you don’t have to pay for a subscription like you do with Ring. It has worked well for us, constantly recording and storing movement at the entrance of our home. It does sometimes disconnect from WiFi at which point I reboot the camera by unplugging it, or reboot my WiFi gateway if there has been a power outage. ### 5/5 — Same as Telus but free. *2021-07-01, version 4.2.1* No monthly fees so when you have to reload the app or turn off motion detection on windy days you can’t really complain. To the developers: If you add “Area Selection” to the motion capture. Ie. Let the user select a partial area of the image for motion capture. (Like their gate or door, instead of the tree in the front yard). It would make the app One Million times better.
