Not very user-friendly it needs to be updated. I don’t really get why you can’t put in user-friendly software have the thing not glitch and make it easier to sign into Wi-Fi. I’d buy another one when this dies if you could do that, but apparently I’ll have to go to another manufacturer supplier.

SkyBell is the only company that hasn’t switched over to subscription services after it was purchased. I have a home camera that stated it was free, but then it only gave you notification after a few years, not videos.

I chose SkyBell because I wanted a video doorbell without expensive monthly monitoring fees. 

If you're shopping for a smart doorbell, be careful before signing up with a monitoring company. Many companies sell doorbells that require a monthly subscription for features you may not need.

Before you buy, make sure the doorbell can be used with a free app and doesn't require a monitoring contract. SkyBell offers a free service tier for its standalone doorbells, although some dealer-installed or Alarm.com versions may require a paid monitoring plan. Read the fine print before purchasing so you know exactly what you're getting.

Do your homework, compare your options, and don't assume every doorbell needs a monthly fee. You could save yourself a lot of money in the long run.

I want to like this company but this product is just so damn unreliable. Can’t watch live (for years!) app crashes as soon as you click “watch live”. Motion is never triggered despite it being set correctly. Super disappointing

Ever since we had to merge to the new Skybell app, it’s horrible. You can’t watch live. You have to wait up to 3 minutes to go back and watch something that has just been captured. Horrible app with lots of issues. We would have never ordered a Skybell if we knew we would have to wait 3 minutes to see if there is an intruder at the door. A lot can happen in 3 minutes!!!!!

I’ve had my Skybell Cam installed for years ( 8.5 years ) Works everytime. Original one. I’m beyond impressed and everytime someone talks about what doorbell to get, I jump at the chance to brag about Skybell.
