I don’t really get why you can’t put in user-friendly software have the thing not glitch and make it easier to sign into Wi-Fi. The person does not have to ring the bell for me to be notified. The good thing is I can talk to whoever even when I am not at home. Until the present time I have not missed a notification or malfunction. By the time the app loads and the video opens up, whoever was at the door is already gone. I’ve uninstalled, reinstalled, performed network tests and nothing changes. Anyone thinking about getting this device should look elsewhere. It says “Front Door On-Demand” but that’s not the case at all. You have to wait up to 3 minutes to go back and watch something that has just been captured. Horrible app with lots of issues. We would have never ordered a Skybell if we knew we would have to wait 3 minutes to see if there is an intruder at the door. It has been stuck like this for almost a year. I have spent hours trying to connect to wifi and the doorbell simply wont connect. They later blamed the internet company because how dare I say the doorbell has a problem! At this point, the mechanical ring does not work too. What a waste of a product! I hate it and do not recommend! I encounter issues at literally every step from setup to configuration to daily use. The device itself is barely usable thanks to this app. The UI/UX looks painfully outdated and poorly thought out. It's hard to believe anyone considers this a new app. It has no difference from those apps hadn't been maintained for a decade. ### 1/5 — Doorbell not connecting to Skybell Apps *2026-01-08, version 1.255.1* In the past 1 months we see a pattern that many Skybell Trim II Pro devices stopped connecting to the app. Looks like kill switch from Skybell. We got skybell installed as package in nee homes in our community. In last 1 month, one by one started failing. The builder moved away from skybell to new homes constructed. Talking to skybell sypport is no use, as they are not investing on issues with app and blaming the device failure even though device enters sync mode, buttons working, lights behaving as expected. But app switches from searching to no device found in less than a millisecond. Skybell advise you to use professional services at additional cost. If you're shopping for a smart doorbell, be careful before signing up with a monitoring company. Many companies sell doorbells that require a monthly subscription for features you may not need. Before you buy, make sure the doorbell can be used with a free app and doesn't require a monitoring contract. SkyBell offers a free service tier for its standalone doorbells, although some dealer-installed or Alarm.com versions may require a paid monitoring plan. Read the fine print before purchasing so you know exactly what you're getting. Do your homework, compare your options, and don't assume every doorbell needs a monthly fee.
