## What is SkyClock?

A clock tells you the number. SkyClock tells you the hour's name.

SkyClock divides your day into twelve named hours — midnight, dead of night, dawn, daybreak, sunrise, morning, midday, afternoon, golden hour, dusk, evening, night — computed from the real sun at your location. The boundaries follow your actual sunrise, sunset and twilight, so when the app says "golden hour", the light outside agrees.

◆ TODAY — a living sky
· A sky gradient that drifts with the real sun, the moon drawn at its true place and phase
· Twinkling stars at night, the occasional shooting star, the Milky Way after dark
· Sunrise, sunset, daylight length, moon phase, and a 24-hour scrubber to preview the day

◆ SKY — constellations where you point
· Aim your phone and see which constellations are up in that direction, at their measured positions
· Hold one on screen to earn its observation badge

◆ LEARN — between a dictionary and prose
· Words for time: dawn, gloaming, the witching hour, the three twilights — meanings, origins, fine differences
· Words for the sky: golden hour, blue hour, earthshine, moon halo, the Belt of Venus
· A field guide to 19 constellations, the 24 solar terms of the East Asian calendar, and one new piece every day

◆ COLLECT — meetings with the real sky
· Twelve time stamps, earned only by opening the app during that real hour
· Special stamps: the stroke of midnight, the moment of sunrise, a full-moon night
· A year-long solar-term calendar that fills in season by season
· Share your collection as a card, or save it to Photos

◆ WIDGETS
· Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets: the hour's name, the sun, the moon, or today's piece
· Long-press any widget to choose what it shows

· No server, no account, no ads, no data collection
· Location is used on-device only, to compute your sunrise and sunset
