Cool app but hasn’t been updated in over 1 year. Needs to be improved to fit iPhone 10. Hoping to get face angle @impact included into the app and lots more pro data loaded into the stats so I can compare my wing stats to that of the pros. If that gets added I’ll give this app 5. ### 2/5 — What a shame *2018-12-30* I had high hopes but for me at least, it lacks some important metrics and explanations. The most serious omission is the measurement of face angle at impact which for slicers, hookers or those trying to shape their shots is a very big deal. It offers face angle at several other swing points so its omission is something of a mystery. I understand that at address some people may not have their club face square to target but returning it to the address position is the only realistic way of measuring a straight shot. If users understand that the face position at impact is measured relative to face position at address they should then be able to choose whether they want to execute a draw, a straight shot or a fade. Also, I can't understand why there isn't more of a user manual, it can't be that hard to devise. The individual explanations of the relevance of the various positions in the 'groove' section are generally too limited and offer no proper advice on what we should be aiming for and why. Incomprehensibly there are only two 'pro swing' data entries and one of them is incomplete! There is no guidance on which 'groove' options to focus on to correct an 'over the top' swing path which is probably the most common fault in golf. There are some useful things such as the 3D view of your swing and shaft lean and angle at impact so it definitely has some use and therefore it's not all bad but it could be so much better for very little effort. ### 3/5 — Fix videos *2018-09-13* Instructional videos don’t play sound. Crashes frequently and the view that shows Hogan's swing planes the planes dissappear after a few swings and I have to restart my phone to get it going again. ### 4/5 — 5 stars if you add face angle during impact *2017-03-11* Great app, can you please add face angle at impact, this is a major item missing and you already record it everywhere but impact. Love the feedback and game improvement potential. Unfortunately this version is brutally unstable! I've spent more time dealing with app crashes and club calibration than actually practicing. Absolutely frustrating given the potential of this technology. ### 1/5 — Crashes *2017-01-21, version 2.1.3* I have installed this app on three different Apple products: iphone6+, ipad3, and iPad mini (all of which SkyPro says are compatible) and the app crashes when I swing the club. Calibrate club no problem, but doesn't record a shot. Not much use without this vital information. ### 3/5 — Open/closed references are backwards. *2016-08-26* First of all I love this swing trainer. It's a great tool to help analyze your swing. My only complaint is that when it references your club face position at the top of the swing (open or closed) it's backwards from what it actually should be. I took the Skypro to my PGA Pro and told me how it works. He noticed it while he was filming my swing. The app said I had an open club face when it was actually closed. Other than this it's a great product. ### 2/5 — New bugs *2016-05-28* After sometime without using this app, I've used it recently and found it very difficult if not impossible to calibrate clubs. On the calibration screen it says to press more firmly yet when I do just that the firmness sensor on the screen causes the app to crash. I have been able to manually calibrate clubs, but even after that the lag between a swing and the results is significant. When I first purchased this device a couple years ago it worked flawlessly. I am hopeful that the app makers will update the firmware to resolve this issue and potentially add new and improved measurements. ### 4/5 — Very useful data points *2016-05-25, version 2.1.2* I've been using this app with my practice on the range and it really has helped me improve in all the areas I wasn't aware of that needed more work. Basic functionality is no longer working. Very dissatisfied and disappointed from Sky Pro. I'm sure skycaddie will have it fixed soon ;) ### 1/5 — App Crashes *2017-01-24* I was able to use most of the features prior to the latest update. Since the update the App has become useless. Almost all the time it crashes on the first swing after calibrating. It also crashes on the first swing of a Groove session. The Swing Library screen does not match the Swing Library screen referenced in Help. Other than layout differences there is no calendar button. In Swing Libaray : Edit, at the bottom of the screen there is 'DeleteButtonTitle' and 'ShareButtonTitle', which are obvius references to the functions attached to them. They should read 'Delete' and 'Share'. Selecting 'ShareButtonTitle' in Swing Library : Edit enables a pop up window with 'Email', 'Twitter' and 'Facebook'. Selecting 'Email' opens a warning dialog, "Couldn't Upload Swing. The resource could not be loaded..." and creates an email with the swing resources file. Selecting 'Twitter' and 'Facebook' provides the same warning, which when acknowledged takes one back to the Swing Library. and the Edit screen in the Swing Library : Edit, on an iPhone 6+ ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — No updates for two years? *2020-02-07* Why? ### 5/5 — Skypro App *2017-02-03* Skypro was very quick to sort the problem with the update. Now works very well. ### 5/5 — It DOES work! *2016-04-22* I have a 5s, latest OS, and the app works very well. I find its best use is to show you what you aren't seeing, but THINK are doing right. Example: thought my takeaway was good... Found I was actually taking it back too inside. That's where the "groove" feature comes in. You set the limits for the parameter you want to work on, then swing... In groups of ten, each giving feedback on whether you are in those limits - it does help. No complaints here. I'm hoping they add additional measures with s/w updates! ### 5/5 — The best swing analyzer by far *2016-04-13, version 2.1.2* After having tried GSA Pro, SwingSense, Blast, Swingbyte, and others, I can definitively say that SkyPro is far and away the best swing analyzer.
