Having to always restart the device every other hole SUCKS! We’ve asked for a fix but there is none in sight smh ### 2/5 — Works but consumes a lot of power *2025-11-19* Devs - having to login to the app every time it’s launched stinks, let’s go with a fix please? Update for 5.8 Login State is not saved, have to log in every use. App crashes during use, seems random. Runs slow after 10 minutes or so of use, takes 10-15 seconds interpreting a shot. Previous Comments are still true, a lot of power being used in iPad. The app works fine on iPad Pro 12.9” but it rips through the battery at an unprecedented pace. While you might say just leave it plugged in, that still generates a ton of heat and also wears the battery. The same thing happens on my M1 MacBook Pro 15”. I hope this is a bug and not really how the app is supposed to work. Would also be nice to delete shots in history after the fact. And map bag across sessions instead of doing it all at one time. ### 1/5 — Meh *2025-11-14* The most recent update made it so I have to log in every time I open the app even if I have stay logged in selected. It also always asks me to make a user account even though I have an account already. Sometimes I need to restart the app multiple times to get it to connect to the SKYTRAK. Restarting the iPad doesn’t seem to help. ### 1/5 — New update *2025-11-03* New update causing software to crash in my IOS. Worked fine before this latest update. Getting access to the courses requires two subscriptions. They let you purchase the courses subscription for $200+ and if you didn’t read super carefully will find out you need another $100+ subscription to even be able to use it. ### 1/5 — Can’t connect network mode *2025-06-10* With my iPad Pro, I can only connect Direct mode only. Have brought the device to the range and the disparity between what’s reported and what the actual ball flight is horrendous. Save your money by not needing any special devices and just use the lite version. It’s about 95% accurate with the exception of some of the distances but that’s expected with calculated data. There is a reason they say not returns, if they allowed it they would go out of business with all the requested refunds. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work on new device *2025-04-16* Doesn’t work on my ninth generation iPad. Nothing ever works right with this company. The second year, lots of no reads and freezes. The 3rd year, infuriating. With every update the unit performed worse. Very low quality product. App tries to tell me a high end iPhone 17 Pro Max is not enough processor! ### 1/5 — Meh *2025-12-09, version 5.8.27* Update 12/8/2025: They patched the login issue, but after I upgraded my membership, I’m not able to use any of the features that the upgraded membership unlocked. The issue seems to go beyond just the iPad app. It’s the exact same on MacOS and Windows. Also, my custom bag clubs do not update. I change the clubs and it doesn’t save. If there’s some server maintenance at play, they need to send out error messages, because this is ridiculous. Wasted my entire evening installing, uninstalling, logging out, logging in. Even the website is unable to show me any of my stats from past sessions. The most recent update made it so I have to log in every time I open the app even if I have stay logged in selected. Restarting the iPad doesn’t seem to help. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Great app but needs the right hardware *2025-09-22, version 5.7* This app works with the Skytrak and Skytrak+ launch monitors but requires an Apple M series chip to run on iPad. The ST Lite sister app works very well on lesser hardware (older iPhones and iPads) but lacks courseplay functionality. This information is all clearly stated on the Skytrakgolf website. The app itself works very well but requires a subscription for all but the most basic features. I’ve had the Essentials package for some time and it provides excellent feedback on every shot on a variety of driving ranges, practice greens and practice fairways. I recently upgraded to the Course Play package which provides a host of top name courses but costs about half the price of some golf club memberships. I would like to see the option for a pared down course play subscription with maybe a handful of courses at a much reduced rate ### 5/5 — Working great! *2025-03-12* No technology is flawless but on my iPad Pro M4, things have been working and looking beautiful. ### 5/5 — Great *2025-02-11, version 5.1* I get that the software doesn’t work on all iPhones and iPads - but im lucky enough that it works on my iPad and its excellent. Took the plunge and ordered the course play and it’s so much better than E6 and WGT Golf I used before. Practice/game improvement/course play is unrivaled in the world of golf simulation on an IPad. ### 5/5 — Works great with required hardware *2024-10-09, version 5.1* This app works great now and doesn’t require me to have my entire PC outside in the garage. A lot of these reviews are based on people not having the proper hardware requirements so that’s not really fair to you review something that you’re not able to run due to your own negligence . On an iPad, this app requires an M2 or M4 chip to run, and on an iPhone it requires the A15 Bionic chip or further. New ranges are amazing, the app is super easy to use and course play is amazing! ### 4/5 — Still a Few Bugs *2024-11-15* I’ve been using the SkyTrak with E6 Connect for several yrs with literally no issues so when course play became available, I was excited to try it. After a few days of use, here is what I’ve found. The graphics are fantastic but the lag is considerable, more than the original Lite version when using an IPad Air I purchased new for this use. When putting, it misses a lot of putts and it seems the only way to remedy the issue is to go into settings turn putting Mode off and then back on again, which is quite annoying. This could be fixed with a mode toggle or club selector. Occasionally a course will not load and crashes the program so you need to reopen and reconnect to the launch monitor. There are way more pros than cons and I’m sure the next version will address any issues. ### 4/5 — Great but issues with shot plot *2024-11-05, version 5.1* Love the update and the gaming, its by far the best sim play I have had while using my SKYTRAK+. The new rangers make things more interesting and overall a great update from the old app. Major issue but as when you look back at history for practice you can no longer see tracing and shot plot. Shows dispersion but not the trace lines or landing spots. Please fix ASAP as it make practice almost pointless. ### 3/5 — Decent app with drawbacks *2025-07-27* I’ve been using my SKYTRAK+ for about two years and just switched to using an iPad vs my pc. Overall I appreciate the convenience of the app, ease of connection and ability to take my setup to the range or course. The major drawback is the app makes my current gen iPad run hot enough to fry bacon and masks the battery last about as long as a man making love for the first time. Tracking can be hit or miss inside and next to impossible in direct sun.
