It will name what you’re pointing at, or let you search for something (a certain star or planet, say) and point you to the right spot. Cool. But it can be disoriented. This morning before dawn it had constellations in the wrong places. I’m in Aotearoa New Zealand, so the ecliptic is in the northern sky. Yet it was claiming planets were in the south. Meanwhile the N, E, S, W tags were spot on, so it wasn’t a compass problem. More like it didn’t understand the southern hemisphere. Then suddenly, pop! It lined itself up correctly. Can’t explain, but it leaves me wondering whether I can rely on it.
